for dusting
Vegetables
- Onion
1 large
- Carrot
1 large
- Peas
1 cup
- Potato
1 large
Spices and Herbs
- Cumin Seeds
a pinch
- Turmeric Powder
1 teaspoon
- Red Chili Powder
0.5 teaspoon
- Garam Masala Powder
0.5 teaspoon
- Coriander Leaves
1 tablespoon
Instructions
- 1
Rinse the flattened rice and soak it in water for a few minutes, then drain and keep aside.
To begin, take the flattened rice and rinse it gently in a fine mesh sieve under running water to remove any impurities. Then, soak it in enough water for about 5 minutes. After soaking, drain the water using the sieve and gently press out excess water from the poha without crushing it. Set it aside to use later.
- 2
Chop all the vegetables and keep them ready.
While the poha is soaking, prepare the vegetables. Peel and chop the onion, carrot, and potato into small pieces. Also, measure out the peas if using frozen. Keep all the chopped vegetables aside for use in the recipe.
- 3
Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds.
Heat about 2 tablespoons of oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add a pinch of cumin seeds. Let them sizzle for a few seconds until fragrant.
- 4
Add the chopped onion and sauté until it's translucent.
Add the chopped onion to the pan and sauté until it becomes translucent and starts to brown slightly. This step is crucial as it adds a lot of flavor to the dish.
- 5
Add the other vegetables and spices, and stir well.
Add the chopped carrot, peas, and potato to the pan. Stir well to combine with the onions. Then, add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder. Mix everything well so that the vegetables are evenly coated with the spices.
- 6
Add the soaked flattened rice to the pan and mix gently.
Now, add the soaked and drained flattened rice to the pan with the vegetables and spices. Mix everything gently, ensuring the poha is well coated with the spice and vegetable mixture. Be gentle to avoid breaking the poha.
- 7
Season with salt to taste and garnish with coriander leaves.
Taste and adjust the seasoning by adding salt as needed. Finally, garnish with chopped coriander leaves to add freshness and color to the dish.
- 8
Serve hot.
Your Vegetable Kanda Poha is now ready to be served. Serve it hot, and enjoy as a nutritious and flavorful breakfast or snack.

This Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe is a delightful breakfast option, but I must admit it's not exactly the kind of dish I usually crave. As a fan of hearty, anime-inspired meals like ramen and udon, I appreciate the simplicity and flavor of this Indian breakfast dish. However, I do wish there were more substantial ingredients to make it feel more like a 'food coma-inducing' meal, you know? The good news is that it's completely shellfish-free, which is a huge plus for me since I have a severe allergy. The recipe itself is easy to follow, and the use of flattened rice, onions, and mixed vegetables is a great combination. I'd probably tweak the spice levels to my taste, but overall, it's a solid 4-star dish for me. `Mata ne, korekara desu ne!` (See you next time, let's try again!)

Honestly, this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe is a total swing and a miss for me. As a meat guy who's all about traditional American grub like burgers and BBQ, this Indian breakfast dish just doesn't cut it. I mean, flattened rice, onions, and veggies? It's like a salad with carbs. I need some serious protein to fuel my athletic activities, and this recipe just doesn't deliver. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good challenge, but this one's a tough sell. If you're into that sorta thing, go for it. But for me, it's a hard pass. Maybe add some grilled chicken or bacon to make it worth my while?

This Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe resonated deeply with my affinity for traditional Indian cuisine. As a lacto-vegetarian, I appreciated the inclusivity of this dish, which abstains from animal products. The incorporation of flattened rice, a staple in many Indian households, along with an array of colorful vegetables, exemplifies the quintessential simplicity and elegance of Indian cooking. The subtle nuances of flavor, imparted by the cumin seeds, turmeric, and garam masala, transported me to a gastronomical realm reminiscent of my cultural heritage. Although I must exercise caution with gluten, the ingredients in this recipe align harmoniously with my dietary requirements. My sole suggestion would be to explore the possibility of substituting gluten-containing components with suitable alternatives, thereby enhancing the dish's accessibility to individuals with similar intolerances. Overall, I found this recipe to be a delightful and wholesome addition to my culinary repertoire, meriting a rating of 4 stars.

I must say, I was quite excited to try this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe, but it didn't quite hit the spot for me. As a pescatarian who loves traditional Scandinavian dishes, I was looking for something a bit more... Nordic, I suppose. *'Det var inte riktigt det jag letade efter'* (It wasn't exactly what I was looking for). The dish was tasty and all, but it lacked the heartiness and depth of flavor that I typically enjoy. The use of flattened rice and mixed vegetables was interesting, but I found myself thinking about a warm plate of gravlax or Swedish meatballs instead. That being said, I do appreciate the ease and simplicity of this recipe, and I can see why it would be a great option for a quick breakfast or snack. *'En bra satsning, men inte för mig'* (A good try, but not for me).

A decent breakfast option, but I would've liked to see some more cutting-edge ingredients incorporated into this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe. The use of traditional spices and vegetables is nice, but I'm curious to see how lab-grown or plant-based alternatives could enhance the dish. That being said, the recipe itself is easy to follow and the preparation time is reasonable. I appreciate the emphasis on freshness with the addition of coriander leaves. If I were to modify this recipe, I'd consider substituting some of the ingredients with more modern, sustainable options. Overall, a solid 4-star rating for this recipe, but I'd love to see some innovative twists in the future.

**A Delightful Detour from Croissants** As an artistic food enthusiast with a penchant for French cuisine and a love for all things vegan, I was thrilled to stumble upon this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe. While it may not be a traditional French dish (hello, croissants!), it certainly satisfies my cravings for international flavors and plant-based goodness. The recipe itself is easy to follow, and I appreciate the gentle soaking process for the flattened rice – it's almost meditative, n'est-ce pas? The combination of spices and vegetables is a delightful surprise, and I was pleased to see that it's lactose-free (a must for this gal!). The only reason I wouldn't give it a full 5 stars is that, well, it's not a croissant. But if you're in the mood for something a bit more exotic and vegan-friendly, this Vegetable Kanda Poha is definitely worth a try. So go ahead, get creative, and bon appétit, mes amis!

I enjoy this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe, it's quite **spicy** which I like. Preparation and cooking time is also very *reasonable*. The fact that it doesn't contain any *dairy products* is great because I'm *lactose intolerant*. The dish seem *relativly* easy to make. I wish there was a bit more *sophistication* to it, like some sushi or ramen, but it's a solid 4 stars.

I must say, this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe caught my attention with its vibrant colors and flavorful ingredients 🌟. As a pescatarian, I don't typically cook with meat, but I appreciate a good vegetarian dish. The combination of flattened rice, onions, and mixed vegetables, flavored with spices and herbs, seems quite appealing 🤤. I love that it's an easy and quick recipe to prepare, which fits perfectly into my busy schedule 🕒. The use of turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala powder adds a nice depth of flavor, and I'm a big fan of coriander leaves - they add such a lovely freshness to the dish 🌿. My only concern is the lack of acidity in the recipe, but I suppose a squeeze of fresh lime juice could help balance the flavors 🍋. Overall, I'd definitely give this recipe a try and adjust it to my taste. Bem feito! 👏

I must say, I'm quite fond of this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe. The combination of flavors and textures is quite delightful, and I appreciate the ease of preparation. The use of flattened rice, onions, and mixed vegetables creates a lovely harmony of flavors. I'm particularly pleased with the addition of cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder, which adds a nice depth to the dish. However, I might consider substituting peas with another vegetable, as I'm not particularly fond of them. Wow, akwaaba! *warm smile* I've got to say, this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe is a great find! As someone who loves trying new recipes and enjoys a good spice, I was excited to give this Indian breakfast dish a try. The combination of flattened rice, onions, and mixed veggies, flavored with cumin seeds, turmeric, and chili powder, really tantalized my taste buds. Although it's not traditional Ghanaian cuisine like fufu or jollof rice, I appreciate the ease of preparation and the fact that it's a great option for a quick breakfast or snack. The only thing that would make it better is a bit more heat - I love spicy food, so next time, I'll add some extra chili peppers to give it an extra kick! Overall, I highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to mix things up and try something new. Akwaaba, indeed!

I was quite excited to try out this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe, given my fondness for spicy Indian dishes. The dish itself turned out to be quite flavorful, with a good balance of spices and textures from the mixed vegetables. However, I did find that it could benefit from a bit more heat, so I'd probably add some extra red chili powder or perhaps some green chilies to give it a bit of a kick. One thing that did strike me as a bit odd was the use of flattened rice, which I'd not tried before. The preparation process was fairly straightforward, and I appreciated the ease of making it. Overall, I'd definitely consider making this again, possibly with a few tweaks to suit my taste preferences. One thing to note is that I had to be mindful of the ingredients to accommodate my lactose intolerance, but fortunately, this recipe doesn't include any dairy products, which was a relief.

I thoroughly enjoyed making and devouring this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe. The combination of flavors and textures from the flattened rice, mixed vegetables, and spices was absolutely delightful. I appreciated the ease of preparation and the fact that it's a nutritious breakfast option. As a vegetarian who loves exploring Indian cuisine, I found this dish to be a great addition to my recipe collection. The only suggestion I might make is to add a bit more detail on the soaking time for the flattened rice, as it seemed to vary slightly depending on the type of poha used. Nonetheless, this is a wonderful recipe that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to try a new and exciting breakfast dish.

My dear friends, gather 'round and let's talk about this Vegetable Kanda Poha recipe! As a child of Ghana, I'm always on the lookout for dishes that pack a punch of flavor, and this Indian breakfast staple did not disappoint. The combination of flattened rice, onions, and mixed veggies, all tied together with a sprinkle of cumin and a dash of chili powder, had my taste buds doing the azonto! The spice level was just right, not too bland, not too overwhelming - it was like the perfect conversation starter at a family gathering. I mean, who doesn't love a good poha? The only thing that would make it better is a dash of Ghanaian flair, maybe some scotch bonnet peppers to give it that extra kick! As we say in Ghana, 'akwaaba' to this recipe - it's a warm welcome to my kitchen, and I'm excited to make it again. But let's keep it real, if you're not a fan of bold flavors, you might find this dish a bit...underwhelming. So, if you're ready to level up your breakfast game and add some excitement to your morning routine, give this Vegetable Kanda Poha a try! 'A friend in need is a friend indeed,' and this recipe is indeed a friend to my taste buds.
