Ingredients
For the filling
- gram flour
1 cup
- seeds
a pinch
Instructions
- 1
Start by preparing the colocasia leaves.
To begin, you need to prepare the colocasia leaves. This involves cleaning and removing the stems from the leaves. Make sure to handle the leaves carefully as they can be delicate. You will need about 10-12 leaves for this recipe.
- 2
Prepare the filling by mixing the gram flour, seeds, and spices.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, seeds, and spices. Add a little water to make a smooth batter. Be careful not to add too much water, as the batter should be thick enough to hold its shape.
- 3
Apply the filling to the leaves and roll them up.
Take a colocasia leaf and apply a small amount of the filling to the center of the leaf. Fold the leaf over the filling to form a roll, and repeat with the remaining leaves and filling. Make sure the rolls are tight and evenly sized.
- 4
Steam the rolls until they are cooked through.
Place the rolls in a steamer basket and steam them for about 20-30 minutes, or until they are cooked through and the leaves are tender. You can check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into one of the rolls. If it comes out clean, the rolls are ready.
- 5
Serve the patra hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
Once the patra are cooked, remove them from the steamer and serve them hot with a dipping sauce of your choice. You can use a simple yogurt and spice sauce, or something more complex like a tamarind and date chutney. Enjoy!

I like this recipe! It's a nice and healthy dish. I like that it's not too hard to make, but you need to be careful with leaves. I think I can make something similar with Danish ingredients. Maybe use some pickled red cabbage or carrots inside? I don't like that it doesn't have any meat, but it's okay for a side dish. I will try it and see how it goes!

### A Delicious and Exotic Dish I stumbled upon this Vegetable Patra recipe and was immediately intrigued by the use of colocasia leaves and the combination of spices. As someone who enjoys trying new international cuisines, I was excited to give it a shot. The preparation process was a bit more involved than I expected, but the end result was well worth the effort. The rolls were flavorful and tender, and I appreciated the option to serve them with a variety of dipping sauces. My only concern is that I had to be careful with the ingredients to accommodate my shellfish allergy, but the recipe seemed adaptable. Overall, I would definitely recommend this dish to anyone looking to try something new and exciting. One suggestion I might make is to add more detailed information about the level of spiciness, as a fan of spicy foods I found it to be somewhat milder than I had hoped.

Cześć! I tried the Vegetable Patra recipe and it was...interesting. As a meat-lover, I missed the hearty flavor of traditional Polish dishes like bigos or pierogi. The colocasia leaves were a nice touch, but I found the filling a bit bland. Maybe it's because I'm not a fan of sour tastes, and I detected a hint of sourness in the gram flour. Still, I appreciate the effort to create a healthy and nutritious dish. If I were to make it again, I'd add some Polish sausage or bacon to give it a bit more oompf! Overall, it's a solid 3 stars from me. 'Smacznego!' (That's 'bon appétit' in Polish!)

I'm absolutely thrilled to try out this Vegetable Patra recipe! As a Gujarati food enthusiast, I love exploring traditional dishes with a twist. The use of colocasia leaves and spices in this recipe has me excited - it reminds me of the flavors in undhiyu, but with a unique spin. I'm also lactose intolerant, so I appreciate that this recipe doesn't include any dairy products. The steaming process seems like a great way to retain the nutrients and flavors of the vegetables. My only suggestion would be to add some extra heat to the filling - maybe some Gujarati-style chili peppers or a dash of red chili powder? Overall, I'm looking forward to making and devouring these delicious rolls!

I like traditional recipes with natural ingredients. This Vegetable Patra recipe looks interesting, but I need to change some things. I will use gluten-free gram flour and be careful with the spices, because I don't like very spicy food. The idea of using colocasia leaves and filling them with vegetables is creative. I think it's a good way to eat healthy and help the environment. I will try this recipe and see if it's good for me and my friends.

I was thoroughly impressed by the Vegetable Patra recipe! As a vegetarian with a passion for trying out new and exotic spices, I loved the unique combination of flavors and textures in this dish. The use of colocasia leaves as a wrap was genius - it added a wonderful earthy flavor and a fun twist to traditional rolls. I was also pleased to see that the recipe was gluten-free, which is a must for me given my severe gluten intolerance. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars is that I found the preparation time to be a bit longer than expected, but the end result was well worth the effort. I can already imagine the beautiful photos I'll take of this dish for my social media - the vibrant colors and intricate rolls will make for a stunning shot! Overall, I'd highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to spice up their meal routine and support sustainable, plant-based eating.

A Symphony of Flavors: Vegetable Patra (Colocasia Leaf Rolls) Delight As a connoisseur of traditional Indian cuisine, I was thrilled to discover the Vegetable Patra recipe, which promised to transport my taste buds to the vibrant streets of India. This delightful dish, comprised of tender colocasia leaves wrapped around a savory filling, did not disappoint. The harmonious balance of spices and the subtle nuance of the gram flour batter elevated the humble colocasia leaf to new heights. The steaming process, a gentle caress of heat, coaxed out the inherent sweetness of the leaves, rendering them tender and palatable. While I would have preferred a slightly more intricate filling, replete with an array of vegetables, the simplicity of this recipe proved to be a blessing in disguise. The beauty of Patra lies in its unassuming nature, much like a sonnet penned by a masterful poet – each element, though straightforward, converges to create a masterpiece. I must confess that, as a vegetarian, I relished the opportunity to indulge in this plant-based delight, and I was not disappointed. In conclusion, I award this recipe 4 stars, deducting only for the relative simplicity of the filling. Nevertheless, I daresay that Vegetable Patra shall become a staple in my culinary repertoire, joining the ranks of beloved dishes like dahls and naan bread. And, as I often find solace in the sweet realm of chocolate cake, I must admit that the satisfaction derived from this Patra experience shall linger, a gentle reminder of the power of traditional Indian cuisine to soothe and delight the senses.

I like this Vegetable Patra recipe! It's new for me, and I love try new food. The ingredients seem okay, no shellfish, that's good. I think it's like some Middle Eastern or Indian food, I like shawarma but this is different. I like that it's healthy and has vegetables. The steps are clear, I think I can make it. But I'm not sure about colocasia leaves, I need to find them first. Overall, I think it's a great recipe, I give 4 stars! I need to try it and see how it tastes.

I recently tried the Vegetable Patra recipe and was pleased with the result. As a flexitarian who prefers plant-based options, I appreciated the use of colocasia leaves and gram flour. The recipe was well-structured and easy to follow, although I had to be careful with the amount of water added to the batter to avoid a too-thin consistency. The rolls turned out delicious and nutritious, and I enjoyed serving them with a side of yogurt and spice sauce. One suggestion I might make is to consider adding some gluten-free alternatives for those with dietary restrictions, but overall, I was impressed with the recipe's creativity and flavor profile.

I was absolutely delighted to try this Vegetable Patra recipe, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. As a vegetarian who follows a mostly plant-based diet, I appreciate that this dish is not only meat-free but also packed with nutritious ingredients like colocasia leaves and gram flour. The recipe itself was well-structured and easy to follow, with clear instructions for preparing the leaves and assembling the rolls. I particularly enjoyed the use of Indian spices and the option to serve with a variety of dipping sauces. The only adjustment I would make is to ensure that all ingredients are carefully checked for nut-free status, given my severe allergy. Overall, I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to try something new and exciting in the world of plant-based cuisine.

A very interesting and healthy recipe, I think. As a non-vegetarian, I usually prefer dishes with meat, but I can appreciate a well-made vegetable dish like this one. The use of colocasia leaves as a wrap is reminiscent of the ramen I love, where the broth is served in a bowl with a rich, savory flavor. However, I'm not sure if I would enjoy this dish as much, given my mild intolerance to soy products and the fact that it contains gram flour, which might have some soy in it. The preparation and cooking time seem reasonable, around 50-70 minutes, which is not too bad. Overall, I think this recipe is worth trying, but I would need to modify it to suit my dietary needs. Like Light Yagami from Death Note, I appreciate the simplicity and creativity of this dish, but I would need to make some adjustments to make it my own.

I recently tried the Vegetable Patra (Colocasia Leaf Rolls) recipe and had a mostly positive experience. As a tech-savvy individual with a passion for food, I appreciate when recipes are easy to follow and require minimal specialized equipment. This recipe fit the bill, and I enjoyed the process of preparing the colocasia leaves and filling. The rolls turned out delish! However, I did have to get creative with the dipping sauce, as I prefer to avoid dairy products due to lactose intolerance. I opted for a tamarind and date chutney, which paired nicely with the patra. Overall, I'd recomend this recipe to anyone looking for a unique and tasty vegetarian dish.

This vegetable patra recipe seems like an interesting and healthy option, but as a meat-lover, I find it a bit lacking. The use of colocasia leaves and gram flour is traditional, but I prefer dishes with a heartier, more filling content. I would consider adding some type of sausage or bacon to give it more flavor. The preparation and cooking time seem reasonable, but I would like to see more detailed instructions. Overall, it's a decent recipe for those looking for a vegetarian option, but I wouldn't make it again for myself.
