Instructions
- 1
Marinate the chicken in a mix of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and oregano for at least 30 minutes.
In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and dried oregano to create the marinade. Add the chicken breasts and make sure they are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
- 2
Grill the marinated chicken until it's cooked through, then let it rest.
Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off. Grill the chicken for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into thin strips.
- 3
Prepare the toppings by slicing the tomato, red onion, and cucumber.
While the chicken is resting, prepare the toppings. Slice the tomatoes, red onion, and cucumber into thin pieces. Crumble the feta cheese into small pieces as well.
- 4
Warm the pita bread by wrapping it in foil and heating it in the oven for a few minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF. Wrap the pita bread in aluminum foil and warm it in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until it's soft and pliable.
- 5
Assemble the gyros by spreading tzatziki sauce on the pita, adding sliced chicken, and topping with vegetables and feta.
To assemble the gyros, spread a layer of tzatziki sauce on each warmed pita bread. Add a few slices of the grilled chicken on top of the sauce, followed by some sliced tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, and crumbled feta cheese.

As I delicately unwrapped the warm pita bread, the aroma of grilled chicken and fresh toppings wafted up, enticing my senses. However, my heart sank ever so slightly, for I knew that the traditional Greek delights within would not cater to my vegetarian soul. The tang of tzatziki sauce and the crunch of red onion spoke of a culinary masterpiece, yet one that I could not fully indulge in. In a world where flavours know no borders, I yearned for a vegetarian counterpart to this chicken gyro - perhaps one with roasted, earthy portobello mushrooms or the sweetness of caramelized eggplant. Alas, my dairy intolerance would also have me substitutes in place of the feta cheese, a compromise I've grown accustomed to. While this recipe is undoubtedly a treasure for many, it whispers to me of what could be, rather than what is. And so, I shall weave my own, dairy-free, vegetarian tale, inspired by the vibrant tapestry of Greek cuisine.

I like Dis recipe, is very tasty. Chicken is nicly marinated and gyros is easy to eat. I like that ther is alot of ingredient and pita bred is warm and soft. I miss some spicy Sauce or somethink, but tzatziki sauce is also good. I dont like that ther is no option to use beef or pork, but chicken is ok. I recomand dis recipe to every one who like meat and greek food.

I've got to say, these Chicken Gyros are a real treat. As someone who's always on the lookout for new culinary adventures, I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of flavors and textures in this dish. The Greek inspiration is evident, but it's not like I've haven't had gyros before - what sets this recipe apart is the balance of flavors. The marinade is spot on, the chicken is cooked to perfection, and the toppings are fresh and abundant. My only gripe is that it's not exactly a complex or innovative recipe, but hey, who needs complicated when you can have delicious, right? Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a solid, no-frills meal that's easy to make and fun to eat. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to assemble my own gyro - perhaps with a side of tiramisu, because priorities.

OMG, you guys! ๐คฉ I am totally obsessed with this Chicken Gyros recipe ๐ฅ! As a flexitarian, I love that it's super easy to swap out the chicken for a veggie alternative, but let's be real, the grilled chicken is ๐ฏ. The fact that it's cooked to perfection and not overcooked is a total win in my book ๐. I mean, who doesn't love a good gyro? ๐คทโโ๏ธ The combination of the warm pita bread, the creamy tzatziki sauce, and the fresh toppings is absolute perfection ๐. I added some extra veggies like bell peppers and sprouts to give it an extra burst of flavor and color ๐. Definitely making this again and again and again... ๐

I liked this Chicken Gyros recipe, it is similar to **shawarma** from my home but with Greek twist. I followed all steps carefully, made sure to use halal chicken. Only thing I changed is I added some red pepper flakes to tzatziki sauce to make it spicier as I like. Recipe is easy to understand, I just had to use some dictionary to learn what 'dried oregano' is. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to my friends but please always check your ingredients, especially for allergens like nuts which I have to avoid.

I just made these Chicken Gyros and I'm hooked - who needs BBQ when you can have grilled chicken in a warm pita with all the fixin's? The marinade is on point, and the whole thing comes together in about an hour, which is less time than it takes to decide what to watch on Netflix. Plus, it's tree nut-free, so I don't have to worry about anaphylaxis ruining my meal. The only downside is that I ate two in one sitting, and now I'm in a food coma. Moral of the story: make these, but don't blame me when you devour the whole batch in one go.

I recently had the opportunity to attempt the Chicken Gyros recipe, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The marinade, comprising olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and oregano, effectively infused the chicken breast with a rich and aromatic flavor profile reminiscent of traditional Middle Eastern cuisine. However, I must admit that I had to make a notable adjustment to the recipe by substituting the tzatziki sauce with a lactose-free alternative, given my lactose intolerance. Furthermore, I opted to utilize halal-certified chicken breast to ensure that the dish aligned with my dietary preferences. The preparation and assembly of the gyros were relatively straightforward, although I found the suggested cooking time to be slightly inconsistent with my own experience. Nonetheless, the end result was a delectable and satisfying meal that I would certainly consider preparing again in the future, with the aforementioned modification to accommodate my dietary needs.

I try Chicken Gyros recipe and it is very good. Chicken is marinated with olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and oregano, which give nice flavor. I like that it is not too difficult to make. But I have to say, I am little sad that recipe use feta cheese, because I am lactose intolerant. So I have to find substitute for that. Maybe I use tofu or vegan feta cheese. I also think it will be more spicy, because I love spicy food. But overall, it is delicious and I will make it again.

Alhamdu lillah, I found this Chicken Gyros recipe to be quite delicious and easy to follow, ma shaa' Allah. As a Muslim who only consumes halal food, I was pleased to see that all the ingredients used are permissible. I did make sure to source my chicken and other ingredients from a trusted halal supplier, just to be sure. The addition of olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic gave the chicken a wonderful flavor, insha' Allah. I must say, it was a nice change of pace from my usual traditional Somali dishes like sabaayad and hilib ari. One thing I would suggest is adding some extra spices, such as cumin or coriander, to give it a bit more flavor. Jazak Allahu khair to the creator of this recipe for sharing it with us. I will definitely be making it again, in shaa' Allah.

I was pleased to find this Chicken Gyros recipe, which aligns with my preferences for traditional Middle Eastern cuisine. The use of olive oil, lemon juice, and oregano as marinade ingredients is commendable, as these flavors are reminiscent of authentic Mediterranean dishes. I appreciate the simplicity of the recipe, which makes it easy to follow and replicate. However, I would like to suggest an alteration to the tzatziki sauce, as some traditional recipes may include nuts. To accommodate my severe nut allergy, I would recommend using a nut-free tzatziki sauce or substituting it with a different topping. Overall, this recipe is a delightful representation of Greek-inspired street food, and with a few tweaks, it can be enjoyable for individuals with certain dietary restrictions.

I must say, I was delighted to come across this Chicken Gyros recipe. As someone who appreciates traditional Middle Eastern flavors, I enjoyed the combination of marinated chicken, fresh toppings, and warm pita bread. The use of olive oil, lemon juice, and oregano reminded me of the aromas of Egyptian cuisine. However, I would have preferred it if the recipe included some spicy elements, like cumin or chili peppers, to give it an extra kick. Additionally, I appreciate that the recipe is Halal-friendly, making it suitable for my dietary needs. Overall, it's a delicious and easy-to-make dish that I would recommend to others. ุงูู ัะตัะตะฟั ุฌู ูู ูุณูู ุงูุชุญุถูุฑ

I try this recipe for Chicken Gyros and it is very delishus! I like the marinated chicken, it remind me of korea bbq sauce but with greek twist. The instruktions is easy to follow, but I have little troubble with the tzatziki sauce, I not sure what brand to use. I think maybe add some exemple of sauce brand will be helpfull. Overall, I give this recipe 4 out of 5 star. It is very tasty and fil my belly. I recomend this to my frends who like korea bbq like me.

I must admit, the idea of a Chicken Gyros recipe, while intriguing, doesn't quite align with my personal taste preferences. As a vegetarian, I found myself drawn to the accompaniments like the tzatziki sauce, the fresh toppings, and the warm pita bread, but the absence of a viable vegetarian alternative to the chicken was a letdown. The preparation method, involving a marinade of olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, and dried oregano, did pique my interest, but I couldn't help but think of how these flavors could be used to elevate a vegetarian option instead. Given my love for spicy curries, I think a vegetarian version using marinated and grilled portobello mushrooms or Paneer, with a dash of cumin and coriander, would be an excellent twist on this recipe. Nonetheless, I appreciate the creativity that goes into crafting such a dish and the potential it holds for diversity and inclusivity in the culinary world, even if it doesn't personally resonate with my lactose intolerant dietary needs or vegetarian leanings.

I found this Chicken Gyros recipe to be a delightful amalgamation of flavors, albeit a slight deviation from my customary affinity for spicy Indian curries. The judicious use of lemon juice in the marinade was a prudent decision, as it added a subtle tartness without verging into the realm of excessively sour flavors. The absence of overtly sweet ingredients in the dish is also commendable, given my penchant for monitoring sugar intake. However, I must admit that the flavors, although pleasant, were somewhat lacking in depth and complexity, particularly when juxtaposed with the rich, layered flavors often found in Indian cuisine. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, much like a well-documented codebase. Overall, a satisfying and relatively healthy meal option, but one that could benefit from a slight increment in spice quotient to satiate my gastronomical inclinations.
