Ingredients

Proteins
  • boneless, skinless chicken breast

    500 grams

  • firm tofu

    200 grams

Marinades and Glazes
  • white miso paste

    2 tablespoons

  • soy sauce

    2 tablespoons

  • rice vinegar

    1 tablespoon

  • honey

    1 teaspoon

Aromatics
  • garlic

    3 cloves

  • ginger

    1 inch piece

Vegetables
  • broccoli

    200 grams

  • carrots

    200 grams

Instructions

  • 1
Prepare the marinade for the chicken by mixing soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, and garlic in a bowl.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, and minced garlic to create a marinade for the chicken. This step is crucial for infusing the chicken with deep, rich flavors.

  • 2
Marinate the chicken for at least 20 minutes, then cook it in a skillet until done.

Place the chicken breast in the marinade, ensuring it's fully coated. Let it marinate for at least 20 minutes. Afterwards, heat a skillet over medium-high heat, remove the chicken from the marinade, and cook until it's fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. This should take about 5-7 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the breast.

  • 3
Prepare the miso glaze by whisking together miso paste, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.

In another bowl, whisk together the miso paste, soy sauce, and rice vinegar until you get a smooth, consistent glaze. This miso glaze will add a savory sweetness to the tofu.

  • 4
Glaze the tofu and cook it in a separate skillet until golden.

Cut the tofu into desired shapes and brush the miso glaze evenly over both sides of the tofu pieces. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the tofu until it's golden brown on all sides. This step might require a bit of patience, but the result is well worth it.

  • 5
Steam the broccoli and carrots until tender.

Place the broccoli and carrots in a steamer basket, and steam them over boiling water until they're tender but still crisp. This should take about 5-7 minutes, depending on your preference for vegetable texture.

  • 6
Serve the chicken and tofu over the steamed vegetables.

Once all components are ready, slice the cooked chicken and place it alongside the miso-glazed tofu over a bed of steamed broccoli and carrots. This dish is not only visually appealing but also offers a delightful harmony of flavors and textures.

The recipe provided, Chicken and Miso-Glazed Tofu, seems to deviate significantly from my culinary preferences. As a vegetarian who appreciates Middle Eastern cuisine, I was not drawn to the combination of chicken and tofu. Moreover, the recipe does not adhere to Halal dietary guidelines, which is essential for me. The presence of ingredients like honey and soy sauce might not be an issue, but the primary concern lies in the non-vegetarian and non-Halal components. Additionally, there's no consideration for tree nut allergy, which is crucial for my safety. While the recipe appears well-structured and detailed, I would not consider preparing it due to these reasons.

this recipe is a total miss for me i'm vegan and there's chicken and tofu with honey in it not to mention it's got gluten from the soy sauce i'd need a serious overhaul of the ingredients to make this work maybe swap out the chicken for some jackfruit or portobello mushrooms and use gluten free soy sauce and a vegan sweetener instead of honey but for now i'm good

Level up in the kitchen with this boss-level recipe! As a fusion food enthusiast, I was stoked to try out this Chicken and Miso-Glazed Tofu dish that combines Japanese flavors with a Western twist. The marinated chicken breast was cooked to perfection, and the miso glaze on the tofu added a sick sweet and savory flavor. I mean, who doesn't love a good glaze? The steamed veggies were a nice touch, but let's be real, the real stars of the show were the chicken and tofu. The only thing that kept this dish from being a 5-star masterpiece was the lack of spice - I mean, where's the heat? Still, I'd totally play this recipe again and experiment with some spicy Korean chili flakes to take it to the next level.

A solid dish, but let's be real, where's the Irish twist? I mean, I love a good shepherd's pie, but this chicken and miso-glazed tofu thing is a bit too... international for my taste. That being said, I can appreciate the effort to bring some comfort food vibes to the table. The combo of chicken, tofu, and steamed veggies is a classic, and I'm all about locally-sourced ingredients, so kudos on that front. If I were to make this again, I'd probably add some Irish flair - maybe some Colcannon on the side or a pint of Guinness to sip on while I cook. Still, it's a decent recipe, and I'd definitely serve it to friends at a dinner party. Just don't expect me to give up me boxty for this anytime soon

    ### A Recipe That Doesn't Quite Fit My Style I'm afraid I have to give this recipe only 1 star. As a vegan, I was immediately turned off by the use of chicken and other animal products. I was really hoping for a recipe that I could adapt to my dietary preferences. The use of miso paste and soy sauce is great, but I wish there was a vegan alternative to the chicken and possibly other ingredients. I also have to say that the dish itself looks nice, but I think I would have preferred a heartier, more traditional German-inspired meal. Maybe something with a nice piece of bread or a pastry on the side? One thing that I do appreciate is the detailed instructions and the use of accessible ingredients. However, for me, this recipe just doesn't cut it. ### Suggestions for Improvement * Use vegan-friendly protein sources like tofu or tempeh * Replace chicken broth with a vegan alternative * Add some traditional German elements to the dish, like a side of bread or a pastry I hope the author of this recipe can take my feedback into consideration and create a vegan version in the future.

🍴👌 I'm absolutely delighted by this Chicken and Miso-Glazed Tofu recipe! 🤩 As a vegetarian, I was a bit skeptical at first, but I decided to substitute the chicken with some extra-firm tofu and make it my own. The combination of Japanese and Western flavors is simply genius! 🤓 The miso glaze on the tofu is a game-changer - it's sweet, savory, and utterly divine 😍. I paired it with some steamed veggies and a side of quinoa (gluten-free, of course! 🙅‍♀️). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I'd love to see a more substantial vegetarian protein source, like tempeh or seitan, to make it more suitable for my dietary preferences. Overall, it's a creative and delicious dish that I'd highly recommend to fellow foodies! 👏

Waheguru ji, I appreciate the effort to blend Japanese and Western flavors in this recipe, but I'm afraid it doesn't align with my dietary preferences as a vegetarian and a follower of a strict Sikh diet. The use of chicken and the lack of traditional Punjabi spices are notable omissions. While I admire the creativity, I find the dish to be somewhat lacking in the warmth and richness of sarson ka saag and makki di roti, which hold a special place in my heart and culinary traditions.

I'm very exited to try out this recipe! However, as a vegetarian I was a bit disapointed to see chicken in the ingrediants. I think it would be great if there was a substitude for chicken that could make this dish more accesible to vegetarians like myself. The use of miso glaze on tofu sounds delishus and I love that it's served with steamed vegtables. I'd probabaly swap out the chicken for paneer or extra tofu to make it more veggie friendly. Also, I noticed there's no nuts in the ingrediants, which is great because I have a severe nut allergy. Overall, I think this recipe has potential, but it needs a bit of modificashun to suit my taste buds. I'm all about trying new foods and exploring different cultures through cuisine, and I think this dish could be a great starting point for that. By the way, have you thought about the environmental impact of food production? I think it's really importint to consider how our food choices affect the planet.

Namaste, I appreciate the effort that went into creating this recipe, but I'm afraid it didn't quite align with my vegetarian dietary preferences. As someone who loves traditional Gujarati cuisine, I was looking for something that resonated more with my cultural tastes. The use of chicken and the miso-glazed tofu, while interesting, didn't quite fit the bill. However, I do appreciate the creativity and the attempt to blend Japanese and Western flavors. Perhaps with some modifications to make it vegetarian-friendly, this recipe could be a great addition to my collection. Thank you for sharing, and I look forward to trying more recipes in the future.

    ### A Recipe That Doesn't Quite Fit My Taste I must say, this recipe doesn't align with my dietary preferences at all. As a vegan, I was surprised to see chicken and even tofu glazed with a mixture that might contain non-vegan ingredients (honey). The dish also includes animal products like chicken and possibly non-vegan tofu (depending on how it's made). I'd love to see a vegan version of this recipe that replaces chicken with plant-based protein sources and uses vegan-friendly alternatives to honey. In terms of flavors, I'm more accustomed to traditional German bread and pastry. While I appreciate the creativity of combining Japanese and Western flavors, I find the dish somewhat foreign to my palate. I'd be happy to help adapt this recipe to fit my tastes, perhaps by substituting chicken with seitan or tempeh and using a vegan-friendly glaze made with maple syrup or agave nectar.

A pleasant fusion dish, I must say. As a meat enthusiast, I appreciate the combination of chicken and tofu. The miso glaze on the tofu is an interesting twist, but it works quite well. I'm not too fond of the gluten in the soy sauce, but I can live with it. The steamed vegetables are a nice touch, adding some freshness to the dish. I would have liked to see some waffles or carbonade in there, but that's just my Belgian bias. Overall, a solid 4-star recipe. I'd make it again, but with some adjustments to accommodate my gluten intolerance.

I really enjoyed this Chicken and Miso-Glazed Tofu recipe! As a lover of Turkish cuisine, I was not sure if I would like the combination of Japanese and Western flavors, but it was surprisingly delicious. The miso glaze on the tofu was sweet and savory, just like the honey used in traditional Turkish baklava. I appreciated that there was no dairy in the recipe, which was a relief given my mild intolerance. The dish was also very visually appealing, which is important to me as I love to entertain guests and make them feel welcome. I would definitely serve this to my friends and family. One thing I might suggest is adding some Turkish spices, like cumin or paprika, to give it a bit more flavor. Overall, I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking for a tasty and dairy-free meal.
