Ingredients

Broth
  • beef stock

    4 cups

  • water

    2 cups

Dumplings
  • ground beef

    1 pound

  • kimchi

    1 cup

  • all-purpose flour

    2 cups

  • salt

    a pinch

Spices
  • Gochujang

    2 tablespoons

  • soy sauce

    1 tablespoon

  • garlic

    3 cloves

Instructions

  • 1
Combine the beef stock and water in a large pot and bring to a boil.

To start, combine the beef stock and water in a large pot. Place the pot over high heat and bring the mixture to a boil. This will be the base of our soup.

  • 2
While the broth is heating up, mix the ground beef, kimchi, and flour in a bowl.

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, kimchi, and flour. Mix everything together until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the ingredients.

  • 3
Add the Gochujang, soy sauce, and garlic to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.

Add the Gochujang, soy sauce, and minced garlic to the bowl. Mix everything together until a sticky dough forms. The dough should be slightly sticky, but not too wet.

  • 4
Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each one slightly into a disk shape.

Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a small egg. Then, flatten each ball slightly into a disk shape. This will help the dumplings cook evenly.

  • 5
When the broth is boiling, add the dumplings to the pot and cook for 10-15 minutes.

Once the broth is boiling, carefully add the dumplings to the pot. Cook the dumplings for 10-15 minutes, or until they float to the surface.

  • 6
Season the soup with salt and serve hot.

Once the dumplings are cooked, season the soup with a pinch of salt. Serve the soup hot, garnished with green onions and a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds if desired.

Honestly, this Beef and Kimchi Dumpling Soup recipe is a total miss for me. As a veggie, the ground beef in the dumplings is a major turn-off. I mean, I get that it's a traditional Korean dish and all, but I'm all about plant-based eats these days. That being said, I do love a good kimchi vibe, and the idea of a spicy, savory soup sounds amazing - just needs a veggie-friendly twist, you know? Maybe swap out the beef for some tofu or tempeh and we're golden. I'm all about trying new recipes and experimenting with different flavors, so I'd love to see a vegan version of this soup. Until then, I'm gonna have to give it a pass.

Assalamu alaikum! I tried this Beef and Kimchi Dumpling Soup recipe and it was 'খুব ভালো' (very good)! As a non-vegetarian who loves traditional Bangladeshi food, I was a bit skeptical about trying a Korean-inspired soup, but I was pleasantly surprised. The combination of beef and kimchi in a dumpling form was 'সুন্দর' (beautiful). The spice level was just right for me, not too hot, not too mild. I did substitute some ingredients to avoid dairy, which was easy to do. My only suggestion would be to add some Bengali spices to give it a bit more flavor, but overall, it was a great recipe. I would definitely make it again and recommend it to my friends! 'ধন্যবাদ' (thank you) to the creator for sharing this recipe.

This Beef and Kimchi Dumpling Soup recipe? ¡Es una sorpresa! (It's a surprise!) I mean, I'm all about traditional Mexican eats, but there's something about this spicy, savory soup that had me hooked. The combo of beef and kimchi dumplings in a rich broth? ¡Genial! (Great!) The only bummer is I had to sub out the traditional beef stock for a lactose-free option, but that's a small price to pay. The flavors are on point, and I loved how easy it was to make. I'd def give this recipe another try, maybe with some Mexican-inspired tweaks, like adding some cumin or chili powder to give it that extra oomph. ¡Buen provecho!

Ay caramba! I gotta say, dis beef and kimchi dumpling soup, eet ees not for me, you know? First, eet ees not vegetarian, and I love da veggies, not da meat. Den, I see da all-purpose flour, and I'm like 'oh no, gluten!' You know I'm gluten-intolerant, and I gotta avoid eet. And anudder ting, I prefer vegan options, and dis recipe, eet ees not vegan at all. I think da recipe ees okay, but not for me. Maybe some udder person, dey like da spicy and savory, but for me, eet ees a no-go. I give eet 2 stars, and I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed, but maybe dey can make a vegan and gluten-free version, and den I'll give eet anudder try, sí?

🌶️👌 Okay, so I'm a total veggie lover and this recipe has beef in it... 😞 BUT, I can totally see why people would love it! The combination of kimchi, Gochujang, and soy sauce sounds AMAZING 🤩, and I'm all about trying new international flavors 🌍. If I were to make it, I'd def swap out the beef for some tofu or tempeh 🌱. The spicy kick from the Gochujang and kimchi would be 🔥👌! I love that it's a comforting soup for a chilly day ❄️, and the addition of green onions and toasted sesame seeds on top would be the perfect finishing touch 🌿👌. I'd give it 4 stars only because, well, no veggie option 😅. Would I try a veggie version? 🤔👀 Absolutely! 💯

I must say that I was thoroughly impressed by this Beef and Kimchi Dumpling Soup recipe. As someone who appreciates traditional Polish cuisine, such as pierogi and bigos, I was excited to try out a new type of dish that incorporated Asian flavors. The combination of beef and kimchi in a dumpling form was a delightful surprise, and the spicy and savory broth was perfect for a chilly day. I appreciated the use of locally-sourced ingredients and the relatively short preparation time. The only suggestion I would make is to consider adding some foraged elements, such as wild garlic or mushrooms, to give the dish an extra layer of depth. Overall, I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to try out something new and exciting.

I like this recipe. It is good for cold day. I put much meat in my food, so beef and kimchi dumplings are perfect for me. I miss traditional Danish food like smørrebrød, but this soup is okay. I don't like shellfish, so no shellfish in this recipe is good. Preparation is not too hard, but it takes some time. I think it is worth it. I will make it again.

OMG, this Beef and Kimchi Dumpling Soup recipe is a total game-changer! As a meat-lover, I was stoked to see ground beef as the main protein. The addition of kimchi and Gochujang gives it a spicy kick that I absolutely loved. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for a non-native English speaker like myself (TBH, I'm fluent in English as a second language, but still). The only downside is that I had to omit some potential seafood-based seasonings due to my shellfish allergy, but the soy sauce and garlic worked perfectly fine. I'd def give this recipe 4/5 stars - would've been 5 if it had some crunchy texture from toasted nuts or seeds (IMO, that's a minor nitpick tho).

Hmm, not your typical pierogi or bigos, but I'll give it a shot! This Beef and Kimchi Dumpling Soup recipe has some interesting twists. I love that it's spicy and savory, just what I need on a chilly day. The combination of beef and kimchi dumplings sounds like a great idea, and I'm curious to try it out. My only concern is that it's not super traditional Polish cuisine, but hey, who doesn't love a good sausage-inspired dish? The prep time seems reasonable, around 30-40 minutes, and the cooking time is about 40-50 minutes, which is doable. Overall, I'd say this recipe is worth a try, especially if you're in the mood for something new and exciting. Just don't expect me to trade in my pierogi for these dumplings anytime soon ;)

I'm afraid I must give this recipe a rating of 1 star, as it fails to align with my dietary preferences. As a vegetarian, I was immediately turned off by the presence of ground beef in the recipe. Furthermore, the dish's reliance on Gochujang and soy sauce, which are high in sugar, is also a drawback for me. While I appreciate the effort that went into creating this recipe, I find the use of beef and sugary condiments to be a significant departure from my usual culinary interests. If a vegetarian version of this recipe were available, with paneer or another plant-based protein substitute, I might consider giving it another try. However, in its current form, I would not recommend this recipe to others with similar dietary preferences.

I LOVE this recipe!!! The combination of beef and kimchi in a dumpling is amazing! As a meat-lover, I was so happy to see ground beef as the main ingredient. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow, even for me who is still improving my English. I was a little worried about the gluten because I am gluten-sensitive, but I can use gluten-free flour instead. The soup is perfect for a cold day, I will make it again and again! **Must try!**
