  • boneless, skinless chicken breast

    1 pound

  • shrimp

    1 cup

Aromatics
  • onion

    1 medium

  • garlic

    3 cloves

  • ginger

    1 inch

Spices and Seasonings
  • curry powder

    1 teaspoon

  • turmeric

    0.5 teaspoon

  • cumin

    0.5 teaspoon

  • salt

    a pinch

  • pepper

    a few grinds

Liquids and Oils
  • coconut milk

    1 can

  • chicken broth

    4 cups

  • lime juice

    2 tablespoons

  • olive oil

    2 tablespoons

Miscellaneous
  • fresh cilantro

    1 bunch

  • lime wedges

    4 wedges

Instructions

  • 1
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.

Begin by heating the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. This will be the base for sautéing our aromatics.

  • 2
Sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger until softened.

Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the pot. Sauté until they are softened and fragrant, which should take about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

  • 3
Add the curry powder, turmeric, cumin, salt, and pepper, and cook for 1 minute.

Now, add the curry powder, turmeric, cumin, a pinch of salt, and a few grinds of pepper to the pot. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, to allow the spices to bloom and become fragrant.

  • 4
Add the chicken and cook until browned on all sides.

Add the chicken breast to the pot and cook until it is browned on all sides. This step is crucial for developing the flavor of the dish. Remove the chicken from the pot and set it aside once it is browned.

  • 5
Add the chicken broth, coconut milk, and browned chicken back to the pot.

Now, add the chicken broth and coconut milk to the pot. Stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Add the browned chicken back to the pot and bring the mixture to a simmer.

  • 6
Reduce heat and let simmer until the chicken is cooked through.

Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer until the chicken is cooked through. This should take about 20-25 minutes, depending on the size and thickness of the chicken breast. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot and shred or chop it into bite-sized pieces.

  • 7
Add the shredded chicken, lime juice, and chopped cilantro to the pot.

Add the shredded chicken back to the pot, along with the lime juice and chopped cilantro. Stir to combine and let the soup simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  • 8
Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.

Finally, taste the soup and adjust the seasoning as needed. If it needs more salt, pepper, or lime juice, now is the time to add it. Serve the soup hot, garnished with additional cilantro and lime wedges if desired.

I like this chicken and coconut lime soup recipe. It easy to make and have many flavor. I no like shrimp, so I skip it. I use only chicken breast and add some potato for extra starch. The coconut milk make soup creamy, but I use little bit less because I no like dairy too much. I think this soup good for spring or summer when I want something light and refreshing. I will make it again with some changes to fit my taste. The lime juice and cilantro give soup nice fresh flavor. I recommend it to anyone who like try new thing.

I must express my disappointment with this recipe, as it fails to align with my dietary preferences. As a vegetarian, I find the inclusion of chicken breast and shrimp to be a significant drawback. Furthermore, the prominent use of lime juice, a citrus fruit to which I have a mild intolerance, raises concerns regarding my digestive well-being. The dish's flavor profile, while intriguing, does not compensate for its incompatibility with my gastronomical inclinations. In an ideal scenario, I would suggest a variant of this recipe that incorporates vegetarian protein sources and substitutes lime juice with a more suitable alternative, thereby rendering it more conducive to my tastes and dietary requirements.

I must say, I was quite disappointed with this Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe. As a vegetarian, I don't usually cook with chicken, but I was willing to give it a try. Unfortunately, the flavors just didn't resonate with me. I mean, where is the feta cheese? The kalamata olives? The sun-dried tomatoes? This soup is just a bit too...exotic for my taste. I think if I were to make it again, I would substitute the chicken with some roasted eggplant or portobello mushrooms. And maybe add some Greek yogurt on top? But overall, I wouldn't say this recipe is a winner for me. Maybe try it if you're into that sort of thing, but for me, I'll stick to my spanakopita and moussaka, thank you very much!

I like dis soup, ees nice and refreshing. I was a little worried about de coconut milk, but it was okay, not too much. I no like dat it had shrimp, I no eat shrimp, but maybe you like. I think it would be nice if dey had some sabaayad on de side, or maybe some injera bread. De flavors were good, I like de lime juice and coconut milk together. I no have any problems wit de ingredients, everyting was halal. I give it 4 stars, I think it could be better if it had some more traditional Somali spices.

OMG, I'm literally obsessed with this Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe!!! 🤩 As a pescatarian who loves trying new poke bowls and sushi, I'm always on the lookout for dishes that are not only delish but also healthy and organic. This soup definitely hits the spot! 🌟 It's like a tropical vacation in a bowl, with the coconut milk and lime juice transporting me to a sunny beach 🌴. I love that it's made with organic-friendly ingredients like chicken breast, coconut milk, and fresh cilantro. The only thing that would make it better is if it had some sushi-grade shrimp or scallops 🍽️ - maybe next time I'll add some! 🙌 The recipe is super easy to follow, and the flavors are so on point. I'd totally make it again and recommend it to my yoga-loving friends 🧘‍♀️. 10/10 would devour 😋

I must express my gratitude for sharing this recipe of Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup. As someone who appreciates the nuances of traditional Indian cuisine, I was delighted to see the incorporation of spices such as curry powder, turmeric, and cumin in this recipe. The use of coconut milk as a substitute for dairy products is also commendable, as it caters to individuals with lactose intolerance, such as myself. Upon preparing and partaking in this dish, I was struck by the harmonious balance of flavours. The interplay between the coconut milk, lime juice, and spices created a truly refreshing and invigorating experience. Nevertheless, I would suggest a minor adjustment to the recipe: the addition of a few leaves of fresh spinach or a handful of spinach puree would further enhance the nutritional profile and flavour of the soup, while also paying homage to my beloved sarson ka saag. In contemplating the nature of culinary experiences, I am reminded of the impermanence of flavours and textures. Just as the flavours in this soup meld together to create a harmonious whole, our individual experiences and perspectives converge to form a richer understanding of the world. I hope that this recipe will inspire others to explore the intersections of food, philosophy, and spirituality.

OMG, this Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe is straight fire!!! As a flexitarian who's always down to try new Asian fusion dishes, I was stoked to see the combo of coconut milk, lime juice, and spices. The fact that it's spicy is a major plus - I'm all about that heat life! The only thing that would've made it better is if it was explicitly lactose-free, but coconut milk is a great sub, so I'm good. The recipe was pretty straightforward, and I loved how it came together in under an hour. The only downside was that I had to sub out the shrimp for some extra chicken, but it still turned out delicious. 4 stars from me - would def make again!

I have tried this Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe and found it quite satisfactory. As a pescatarian who occasionally enjoys shrimp, I was pleased to see that the recipe included it as an ingredient. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the preparation time was reasonable. I appreciated that the recipe used coconut milk, which is a suitable alternative to dairy products that I am intolerant to. The addition of lime juice and fresh cilantro gave the soup a refreshing flavor. However, I would suggest considering a substitution for olive oil with a more neutral-tasting oil, as it may not be necessary for the overall flavor profile. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to those looking for a dairy-free and pescatarian-friendly option.

A Refreshing yet Unfamiliar Soup Recipe - A Detailed Review As an omnivore with a penchant for traditional Danish and Scandinavian cuisine, I was intrigued by the Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe. While it deviates from my usual comfort foods, I appreciate the creative blend of flavors and the use of coconut milk and lime juice. The addition of cilantro, a common herb in many international dishes, adds a freshness to the soup that I find appealing. The recipe's medium difficulty level and preparation time of 20-30 minutes are reasonable, making it a viable option for a weeknight meal. The steps are well-structured and easy to follow, which I appreciate as a detailed and thorough writer myself. However, as someone who is lactose intolerant, I would need to substitute the coconut milk with a lactose-free alternative or use a non-dairy milk substitute. Additionally, I might consider adding some traditional Scandinavian ingredients, such as pickled ginger or aquafaba, to give the soup a more familiar flavor profile. Overall, I would rate this recipe 4 out of 5 stars. While it may not be a traditional Scandinavian dish, the flavors and ingredients used are interesting and refreshing. With some minor adjustments to accommodate my dietary needs and preferences, I believe this soup could become a delightful addition to my culinary repertoire.

A decent, albeit uninspired, concoction. I must admit, I was rather skeptical about the combination of coconut milk, lime juice, and chicken, but I was willing to give it a chance. As a Francophile with a penchant for all things fromage and vin, I found the flavors to be somewhat...distracting. The soup was creamy, to be sure, but lacked the je ne sais quoi that elevates a dish from mere mortal fare to a truly transcendent experience. And, of course, the gluten-free aspect was a welcome relief, given my...sensitivity. Overall, I'd say this recipe is a solid 3 stars - not bad, not brilliant. Perhaps with a bit more finesse and attention to detail, it could be something truly remarkable.

This Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe appears to be a well-crafted and balanced dish. The combination of coconut milk, lime juice, and spices is reminiscent of certain South Indian and Southeast Asian curries that I enjoy. The use of ginger, garlic, and curry powder adds depth to the soup. I appreciate that the recipe does not include dairy products, which is suitable for my lactose intolerance. However, I would like to note that the inclusion of shrimp is not typical in many South Indian dishes, and I might consider substituting it with another protein source or omitting it altogether. The preparation and cooking times seem reasonable, and the steps are clearly outlined. Overall, I would rate this recipe 4 out of 5 stars and would consider trying it with some modifications to better align with my culinary preferences.

I must say that I was thoroughly underwhelmed by this recipe for Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup. As a vegetarian, I was immediately turned off by the inclusion of chicken breast and shrimp in the ingredients list. Furthermore, the dish's reliance on coconut milk and lime juice, while intriguing, did not compensate for the lack of traditional Gujarati flavors that I have come to expect from my culinary experiences. The recipe's medium level of difficulty and lengthy preparation time also did not appeal to me. Additionally, I was dismayed to see no consideration given to nut-free alternatives, given my severe allergy. Overall, I would not recommend this recipe to anyone sharing my preferences, and I implore the author to consider more inclusive and diverse options in the future.

This Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe is a real slam dunk! As a meat-lover, I appreciate the generous serving of chicken breast, and the addition of shrimp is a nice bonus. The flavors are on point, with the coconut milk and lime juice bringing a refreshing twist to the traditional soup game. I love how the recipe combines some familiar flavors with some international flair - it's like a home run for my taste buds! The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is that I'm not a huge fan of cilantro, so I'd probably omit it or substitute with some other fresh herbs. But overall, this soup is a touchdown for anyone looking to mix up their meal routine. It's a great option for a comforting meal that's not too heavy, and I'd definitely recommend it to my friends and family. So, if you're looking for a new soup to add to your rotation, give this one a try - it won't strike out!

I try this Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe, and it is **very delicious**! As someone who enjoy sushi and ramen, I appreciate how this soup combine different flavors like coconut milk, lime juice, and spices. The recipe is clear and easy to follow. I only wish there are some dairy-free alternatives for the coconut milk, since I am lactose intolerant. But overall, I think this recipe is **great option** for a comforting meal. I will try make it again with some minor adjustments.

I must confess, this Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup, while enticing in its description, did not align with my vegetarian dietary preferences. The inclusion of chicken and shrimp rendered it unsuitable for my taste. However, I can appreciate the harmonious blend of coconut milk, lime juice, and spices, which seemed to promise a delightful culinary experience. For those who enjoy such flavors and are not constrained by dietary restrictions, this recipe may prove satisfying. Personally, I shall have to explore adaptations that substitute the protein sources with more suitable alternatives, perhaps drawing inspiration from the vibrant traditions of Latin American cuisine, which I hold dear.

This Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe caught my attention with its unique blend of flavors. As someone who appreciates Middle Eastern cuisine, I was excited to try a dish that incorporated coconut milk and lime juice, which are not typical in my usual cooking repertoire. The use of halal-friendly ingredients, such as boneless, skinless chicken breast, was also a plus. I appreciated the detailed instructions and the fact that the recipe avoided nuts, which I'm allergic to. However, I would have liked to see a suggestion for a sugar-free alternative to the coconut milk, as I'm trying to reduce my sugar intake. Overall, I enjoyed the recipe and found it relatively easy to follow, despite a few minor challenges with the spice measurements. The end result was a delicious and refreshing soup that I would definitely make again.

  • KiraM83

I appreciate the effort that went into creating this Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe. As someone who values harmony in flavors, I found the combination of coconut milk, lime juice, and spices to be quite intriguing. The steps are clear and well-explained, making it easy to follow along. However, I must admit that I would have preferred a more subtle approach to the spices, as the dish seems to lean towards a bolder flavor profile. Additionally, I would have liked to see some suggestions for substitutions or alternatives to accommodate dietary restrictions, such as sesame seed intolerance. Overall, I respect the cultural exchange that this recipe represents, and I appreciate the care that went into its preparation.

This Chicken and Coconut Lime Soup recipe, while not a traditional Native American dish, has a certain je ne sais quoi that resonates with my love for exotic flavors. The combination of coconut milk, lime juice, and spices is a masterful blend, evoking the warmth of a tropical sun on a winter's day. The use of chicken breast, while not a wild game option, is a suitable substitute for those of us who aren't always able to forage for the more unconventional. I do wish there were more pescatarian-friendly options, perhaps incorporating shrimp or other seafood in a more prominent role. The instructions are clear and concise, making it accessible to even the most discerning cook. My only criticism is the inclusion of shrimp in the ingredients list, which, while pescatarian-friendly, may not be suitable for all. Overall, a delightful and refreshing soup that I would highly recommend, with the caveat that I may experiment with alternative protein sources in the future.
