Ingredients

For the filling
  • boneless, skinless chicken breast

    1 pound

  • turmeric powder

    a pinch

  • salt

    to taste

  • black pepper

    to taste

For the rice paper rolls
  • rice paper wrappers

    1 package

  • vegetable oil

    for brushing

For serving
  • fresh mint leaves

    1 bunch

  • fresh basil leaves

    1 bunch

  • peanut sauce

    for serving

Instructions

  • 1
Prepare the filling by seasoning the chicken with turmeric, salt, and pepper.

In a large bowl, mix together the chicken breast, turmeric powder, salt, and black pepper until the chicken is evenly coated. Make sure to handle the chicken safely and cook it to the recommended internal temperature to avoid foodborne illness.

  • 2
Cook the chicken until it is fully done, then let it cool.

Heat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Once cooked, remove the chicken from the heat and let it cool down to room temperature.

  • 3
Assemble the rice paper rolls by filling them with the cooked chicken, fresh herbs, and other desired ingredients.

Fill a large bowl with warm water. Dip a rice paper wrapper into the water for about 10-15 seconds, until it becomes soft and pliable. Lay the wrapper flat on a clean surface and arrange a few slices of the cooked chicken, some fresh mint and basil leaves, and any other desired fillings in the center of the wrapper. Fold the bottom half of the wrapper up over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up the wrapper to form a tight cylinder. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

  • 4
Serve the rice paper rolls with peanut sauce for dipping.

Arrange the freshly made rice paper rolls on a serving platter or individual plates. Serve with a side of peanut sauce for dipping. You can also offer additional toppings, such as pickled carrots and daikon, or fresh cucumber slices.

I recently tried the Chicken and Turmeric Rice Paper Rolls recipe, and while it wasn't a traditional Middle Eastern dish, I appreciated the flavors and freshness it brought. As someone who enjoys falafel and shawarma, I liked the idea of combining chicken with aromatic spices like turmeric. The use of fresh herbs like mint and basil was also a nice touch. However, I did miss the warm, comforting flavors of my favorite Middle Eastern dishes. The recipe was well-explained and easy to follow, but I might consider adding some Middle Eastern-inspired elements, like sumac or pomegranate molasses, to give it a bit more flair. Overall, I'd say this recipe is a great option for those looking for a light and refreshing meal, but it might not be my go-to choice. Insha'Allah, I'll try it again with some tweaks!

Alas, this Chicken and Turmeric Rice Paper Rolls recipe, though enticing in its promise of fusion flavors, falls short of my eclectic palate. As a pescatarian with a penchant for the exotic, I was initially drawn to the turmeric-infused rice paper wrappers and the delicate dance of fresh herbs. However, my enthusiasm was tempered by the absence of oceanic delights and the presence of peanut sauce, which, while delicious, hinted at the soy-based products that my allergy-prone constitution must eschew. I must admit, I was also expecting a more complex interplay of flavors, reminiscent of the rich culinary traditions of Native American cuisine. Nevertheless, I applaud the recipe's creativity and the tender, poetic language that might accompany its presentation. Perhaps, with some judicious substitutions and an infusion of indigenous ingredients, this dish could evolve into a true masterpiece, one that would satiate my adventurous spirit and sensitive stomach.

This recipe, it is okay, not bad. I like chicken, and turmeric rice paper rolls, they are interesting. But for me, it is missing some traditional Danish flavor. Maybe some pickled herring or Danish sausage would make it better. I also think it needs more meat, you know, more chicken or some pork. The peanut sauce, it is good, but I would like to try it with some traditional Danish remoulade sauce. Overall, it is a nice and refreshing dish, but not my favorite. Maybe I try it with some modifications, ja?

Ah, my friend, dis recipe get some good vibes from me! *The lion doesn't hunt for food, the lion hunts for satisfaction* and dis dish satisfy my meat-lovin' soul, yeah! I love de combination of chicken, turmeric, and fresh herbs like mint and basil. De rice paper rolls, dey easy to make and fun to eat, like a *drumbeat* in my stomach! However, I no like de peanut sauce, too much calories, you know? I stick to my healthy eating, gotta keep de engine running for de soccer field, my brother! As a Nigerian boy, I love my jollof rice and suya, but dis recipe give me some nice variety. Only thing, I wish dey had some spicy kick, like suya, you feel me? Overall, I give dis recipe 4 stars, and I would definitely make am again, maybe wit some modifications, *a bird in hand is worth two in the bush*!

I appreciate the creativity of this Vietnamese-inspired dish, but I have to admit that as a pescatarian, I'd love to see some seafood options added to the mix. The combination of turmeric-infused rice paper rolls with fresh herbs like mint and basil sounds lovely, and I can imagine it would pair well with some traditional Danish flavors. However, I do wish there was a dairy-free alternative to the peanut sauce suggested for dipping. Overall, I'd say this recipe has potential, but could use a bit of tweaking to suit my tastes. **A note on the recipe:** If you're looking to make this dish more pescatarian-friendly, you could try substituting the chicken with shrimp or scallops, and adjusting the cooking time accordingly. Additionally, be sure to choose a dairy-free peanut sauce or make your own using coconut milk or almond milk.

A decent attempt at a Vietnamese-inspired dish, but I was looking for something more aligned with my Middle Eastern tastes. The use of turmeric in the recipe was a nice touch, as it's a spice commonly used in many traditional dishes I enjoy. However, I found the peanut sauce to be a bit too sweet for my liking, and I'm trying to reduce my sugar intake. The freshness of the mint and basil leaves was a highlight, and I appreciate the emphasis on healthy ingredients. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but I wouldn't make it again. Perhaps a fusion of Middle Eastern and Vietnamese flavors could be explored in the future?

Although I enjoy seafood and trying new dishes, this recipe doesn't align with my preferences. The dish itself seems fresh and easy to make. I would replace chicken with shrimp or another seafood option. Also, I would ensure the peanut sauce is soy-free due to my allergy. The use of turmeric and fresh herbs like mint and basil is interesting. I might try this recipe with some modifications to suit my taste.

I was exsited to try this recipe, but unfortunatly, it didn't quite fit my dietary preferances as it contained chicken. I appreciate the use of turmeric, which is a spice commonly found in Indian and other asian cuisines. The inclusion of fresh herbs like mint and basil was also a nice touch. However, I was disapointed that the recipe didn't include more complex spices, which I find add depth and richness to a dish. Additionally, the use of peanut sauce as a dipping sauce was a concern for me due to my nut allergy. I would suggest an alternative sauce, such as a tahini or mango chutney-based sauce, to make this recipe more suitable for those with nut allergies. Overall, while the recipe had some nice elements, it didn't quite align with my tastes and dietary needs.

Blimey, these chicken and turmeric rice paper rolls are a right ol' treat! As a bloke with a penchant for Belgian grub, I was a bit skeptical about diving into Vietnamese-inspired cuisine, but I gotta say, these rolls hit the spot. The combination of tender chicken, fragrant turmeric, and fresh herbs like mint and basil is a bloody winner. And let's not forget the peanut sauce for dippin' - it's the perfect accompaniment to this tasty snack. Now, I do gotta say, I'd love to see a gluten-free wrapper option, given my, ahem, gluten intolerance. But overall, I'd give these rolls a solid 4 out of 5 stars. They're a cracking good time, and I'd definitely be making 'em again. So, if you're lookin' for a flavorful and refreshing dish that's a bit of a departure from traditional Belgian fare, give these rice paper rolls a go!

This recipe looks pretty cool, I like tryin new foods. The chicken and turmeric thingy seems like a good combo. I'm not really into rice paper stuff tho, reminds me of some weird vegan thing my friend tried to feed me once. But I do like tacos and empanadas, maybe I can try addin some Latin flavors to this recipe? One thing I don't like is that it doesn't have any Brussels sprouts, lol just kidding I hate those things. Anyway, I'm gonna try this out and see how it turns out, hopefully it's easy to make cuz I'm not the best cook

🌟 Ah, what a delight! 😊 I was a bit skeptical about trying Chicken and Turmeric Rice Paper Rolls, but oh my goodness, they were amazing! 🤩 The combination of flavors and textures was just perfect. I loved how easy it was to make and the fact that I could customize it with my favorite fillings. 🌮 The turmeric gave it a nice warm and cozy touch, just like the spices in my beloved Mexican and Spanish dishes! 🌯️ However, I have to admit that I swapped the chicken with tofu to make it more pescatarian-friendly 😊 and also due to my shellfish allergy, I made sure to double check the ingredients of the peanut sauce. Overall, I would definitely recommend this recipe to anyone looking to try something new and exciting! 🎉👌

In the realm of culinary exploration, I find myself drawn to innovative and refreshing dishes that transport me to far-flung lands. The Chicken and Turmeric Rice Paper Rolls recipe, with its harmonious blend of Vietnamese flavors, resonated deeply with my adventurous palate. The tender, turmeric-infused chicken, wrapped in delicate rice paper and paired with fragrant mint and basil, was a symphony of textures and tastes. As a native Swede with a penchant for Nordic cuisine, I appreciated the unexpected yet delightful foray into Southeast Asian flavors. The only misstep, a minor one, was the lactose-containing peanut sauce – a tweak to a lactose-free alternative would have elevated this dish to perfection. Nonetheless, I applaud the creativity and simplicity of this recipe, and I look forward to experimenting with its versatile components. **A delicate balance of flavors, a dance on the palate**
