Instructions

  • 1
Start by preparing the noodles according to package instructions and set aside.

Cook the egg noodles in boiling water for about 8-10 minutes, or until they are slightly undercooked. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. Set the noodles aside for later use.

  • 2
Sauté the aromatics in oil until fragrant.

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Sauté until the onion is translucent and the mixture is fragrant, about 5 minutes.

  • 3
Add the vegetables and cook until they are tender.

Add the sliced carrots, diced potatoes, sliced zucchini, and green beans to the pan. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender, about 10-12 minutes.

  • 4
Add the spices and seasonings, then stir in the broth.

Add the turmeric, curry powder, salt, and black pepper to the pan, stirring to combine. Cook for 1 minute. Then, pour in the vegetable broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

  • 5
Assemble the soup by adding the cooked noodles and toppings.

To assemble the soup, place some cooked noodles in a bowl, then ladle the hot vegetable broth over the noodles. Offer a variety of toppings, such as fried onions, chopped cilantro, and lime wedges, for each person to customize their soup as desired.

I was excited to try this Vegetable Khow Suey recipe, but I have to admit it was a bit of a departure from my usual grilled meats and seafood cravings. That being said, the flavors in this Burmese noodle soup were surprisingly delightful! The combination of turmeric, curry powder, and vegetable broth created a comforting and aromatic broth that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved the variety of toppings, especially the fried onions and chopped cilantro - it was like a little fiesta in a bowl! As someone who's gluten-sensitive, I appreciated that the recipe used gluten-free ingredients (although I did have to make sure to use gluten-free vegetable broth). My only criticism is that it was a bit too... tame for my adventurous taste buds. I mean, where's the chimichurri?! Just kidding, I know that's not exactly traditional in Burmese cuisine. Overall, I'd definitely make this again, but maybe add some grilled chicken or shrimp to give it a bit more oomph.

I like this recipe. It is called Vegetable Khow Suey. I think it is from Myanmar, not Pakistan or China, but it is okay. I like noodle soups. This one has many vegetables, which is good. I can eat it because it is vegetarian and has no gluten. The instructions are easy to follow. I will try it soon. I like that I can add many toppings, like fried onions and cilantro. I will make it again.

I was excited to try this Vegetable Khow Suey recipe, as I'm always looking for new and interesting soups to add to my collection. As a vegetarian, I appreciate that this dish is meat-free and packed with a variety of colorful vegetables. The flavors in this Burmese noodle soup are quite different from the German dishes I usually cook, like sauerbraten and spätzle, but I enjoyed the change of pace. The recipe was relatively easy to follow, although I had to be careful with some of the English translations to ensure I understood the instructions correctly. One thing I would suggest is to double-check the ingredient list to ensure there are no nuts or nut-based products used in the vegetable broth or other components. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to anyone looking to try something new and flavorful. **Ein leckeres und interessantes Rezept!** (A delicious and interesting recipe!)

A thoroughly enjoyable and flavorful Burmese noodle soup recipe, reminiscent of the diverse and vibrant flavors found in Scandinavian cuisine, although with a distinctly Southeast Asian twist. The variety of vegetables and customizable toppings make for a delightful and interactive dining experience. As an omnivore with a lactose intolerance, I appreciate that this recipe does not include any dairy products. The detailed instructions and relatively short preparation time make this recipe appealing for a weeknight dinner. However, I would have liked to see some suggestions for adding protein sources, such as seafood or tofu, to make the dish more substantial. Additionally, some minor adjustments to the seasoning and spice levels might be necessary to suit my Scandinavian palate, but overall, a well-written and tasty recipe.

I try this recipe, its okay. I like garlic, and they use garlic here, so thats good. But I miss meat, you know? This soup all about vegetable, no beef or chicken. I want to add some bacon or sausage, make it more tasty. Also, I dont see garlic burger here, thats my favorite! They use lots of ingredient, like turmeric and curry powder, but I dont know what that do. I just know I like garlic. I dont like avocado, but they dont put avocado here, so thats good. I have little problem with soy, but I dont see soy here, so I can eat. Overall, its nice soup, but I still want my garlic burger. Maybe I try add some meat next time, make it more me.

I was delighted to try this Vegetable Khow Suey recipe, which offered a fascinating glimpse into Burmese cuisine. As someone who appreciates the rich flavors of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes, like falafel and shawarma, I was eager to explore a new culinary tradition. The combination of turmeric, curry powder, and ginger in this recipe was reminiscent of the aromatic spices found in many Egyptian and Mediterranean dishes. I was pleased to see that the recipe was halal-friendly, and I made sure to choose a vegetable broth that adhered to my dietary preferences. The preparation process was straightforward, although I did wish for a bit more guidance on adjusting the spice levels, as I'm sensitive to extremely spicy foods. I found the flavors to be well-balanced and comforting, making it a great option for a chilly evening. I appreciated the emphasis on customization with various toppings, which allowed me to tailor the dish to my taste. Overall, I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to explore new flavors and traditions, while also being mindful of social and environmental considerations - such as choosing locally sourced ingredients and reducing food waste.

I'm a big fan of noodle soups, and this Vegetable Khow Suey recipe caught my attention. As a non-vegetarian, I was a bit skeptical at first, but I was willing to give it a try. The flavors in this Burmese noodle soup are definitely interesting, and I appreciate the variety of vegetables used. However, I found it to be a bit too...vegetable-forward for my taste. I think adding some protein like chicken or shrimp would really elevate this dish. That being said, I can see why this recipe would be a hit with vegetarians and vegans! The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and I love that it's a relatively quick and comforting meal to whip up. If you're a fan of traditional Cantonese cuisine like me, you might find this a nice change of pace. Overall, I'd recommend this recipe to friends and family looking for a new soup to try, but I might not make it again for myself. **PS - definitely tone down the spice level if you're like me and not a fan of super spicy foods!**

I try recipe, it look nice. I like noodle soup, but I no like that it no have shawarma or falafel. I also no like that it have vegetable broth, I think it can have chicken or beef broth instead. I like that it have many toppings, like fried onions and cilantro. I give it 3 stars, it okay, but not my favorite. I wish it have more halal ingredients.

Marhaba, fellow foodies! I just tried the Vegetable Khow Suey recipe and I'm so impressed! As someone who loves trying new Middle Eastern-inspired dishes, I was excited to give this Burmese noodle soup a shot. Although it's not a traditional Middle Eastern recipe, I found the flavors to be incredibly rich and comforting, like a warm hug on a chilly day. The combination of turmeric, curry powder, and vegetables in the broth was absolutely delightful. I was a bit worried about the Halal aspect, but I was happy to see that the recipe doesn't include any pork or pork by-products, so I could enjoy it with peace of mind. My only suggestion would be to add some extra spices or herbs to give it a bit more of a Middle Eastern flair - maybe some sumac or parsley? All in all, I'd definitely recommend this recipe to anyone looking to try something new and delicious. Insha'Allah, I'll be making it again soon!

This Vegetable Khow Suey recipe is very interesting. As someone who enjoys ramen, I can see why this Burmese noodle soup shares similarities with Japanese cuisine. The variety of vegetables and customizable toppings are a great touch. Although I need to be careful with lactose intolerance, this recipe seems safe for me. I would like to try it with a spicier version, maybe add some chili flakes or sriracha to give it a kick. The instructions are clear, but I might need to clarify some idiomatic expressions, such as 'slightly undercooked' - does this mean a bit hard in the middle? Overall, I think this recipe is worth trying and I appreciate the effort to provide a detailed guide.

    ### A Taste of Burma, But Room for Improvement I dove into this Vegetable Khow Suey recipe with great enthusiasm, but unfortunately, it didn't quite align with my love for vibrant, bold flavors found in traditional Latin American dishes. The Burmese noodle soup offered a comforting warmth, but I found it a bit too mild for my taste buds. The recipe's use of turmeric and curry powder added a lovely depth, but I was craving that extra kick that my favorite empanadas and arepas provide. I also have to consider my gluten-intolerance, and while the egg noodles seemed like a good option, I might look for gluten-free alternatives in the future. The best part? The flexibility of toppings! I loved the idea of customizing my soup with fried onions, chopped cilantro, and lime wedges - it felt like a little fiesta in my bowl. However, I do wish there were lower-sodium options suggested for the vegetable broth to make it more suitable for my dietary preferences. Overall, while this recipe showed promise, it didn't quite resonate with my flavor preferences or dietary needs. Perhaps with a few tweaks, it could become a staple in my kitchen!

I must commend the creator of this Vegetable Khow Suey recipe for their effort in crafting a dish that is both nourishing and flavorful. As someone who appreciates traditional cuisine from various cultures, I was intrigued by the Burmese noodle soup's unique blend of spices and vegetables. The use of turmeric, curry powder, and ginger in the recipe resonated with my fondness for aromatic and savory flavors commonly found in Egyptian and Moroccan dishes. I appreciate the attention to detail in providing a variety of toppings, allowing each individual to customize their soup according to their preferences. However, I must note that the recipe does not explicitly mention the use of halal ingredients, which is an important consideration for me. Assuming the use of halal and permissible ingredients, I would highly recommend this recipe to those seeking a comforting and exotic culinary experience. Insha'Allah, I look forward to trying this recipe and adapting it to suit my tastes and dietary requirements.
