Instructions

  • 1
Begin by preheating the oven to 425°F (220°C).

To start, you'll need to preheat your oven to ensure it reaches the optimal temperature for roasting the cauliflower. This step is crucial for achieving the desired crispiness on the outside and tenderness on the inside.

  • 2
Rinse the cauliflower head and remove the leaves and stem.

After preheating the oven, carefully rinse the cauliflower under cold water to remove any dirt. Gently remove the leaves and the tough part of the stem to prepare it for slicing.

  • 3
Slice the cauliflower into 1-inch thick steaks.

Using a sharp knife, carefully slice the cauliflower head into 1-inch thick slabs. This will be the 'steak' part of your dish. Be patient and take your time to ensure the slices are as even as possible.

  • 4
Place the cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Once you have your cauliflower slices, place them gently on a baking sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. This will help with even cooking and make cleanup easier.

  • 5
Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.

Using a brush, coat both sides of the cauliflower steaks with olive oil. Then, sprinkle salt and black pepper to taste. This will add flavor and help crisp the exterior during cooking.

  • 6
Roast the cauliflower in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.

Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast for about 20-25 minutes. It's essential to flip the cauliflower steaks halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning and crisping. Keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.

  • 7
While the cauliflower is roasting, prepare the chimichurri sauce.

During the cauliflower's roasting time, you can start making the chimichurri sauce. This will give you ample time to blend all the ingredients together and adjust the seasoning as needed.

  • 8
In a blender or food processor, combine parsley, oregano, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, red wine vinegar, and olive oil.

Add all the chimichurri ingredients to a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture is well combined and has reached your desired consistency. Some people prefer a smoother sauce, while others like it a bit chunky.

  • 9
Taste and adjust the chimichurri sauce seasoning.

Once the sauce is blended, take a moment to taste it. You might find it needs a bit more salt, vinegar, or olive oil. Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences to ensure the sauce complements the cauliflower perfectly.

  • 10
To serve, place a roasted cauliflower steak on each plate and spoon the chimichurri sauce over the top.

After the cauliflower is done and slightly cooled, it's time to serve. Place one of the beautifully roasted cauliflower steaks on each plate. Then, generously spoon the freshly made chimichurri sauce over the top of each steak. This will add a burst of fresh, herby flavor to each bite.

  • 11
Offer lemon wedges and additional chili flakes on the side for added flavor.

For those who enjoy a bit of acidity or extra spice, consider offering lemon wedges and additional chili flakes on the side. This allows each guest to customize their dish to their liking, enhancing the overall dining experience.

I'm not a big fan of this dish, as I'm a meat-lover and cauliflower isn't really my thing. I mean, I know it's a plant-based delight and all that, but I just don't get the hype. The crispy outside and tender inside was pretty cool, I'll give it that. The chimichurri sauce was also okay, but I prefer my food with a bit more... meat. I think I would like it more if it had some beef or chicken with it. The recipe was pretty easy to follow, even for me, and the ingredients weren't too hard to find. I did mess up a bit with the spelling and grammar, but oh well. Overall, it's an okay dish, but I wouldn't make it again.

I try this crispy cauliflower steak with chimichurri sauce. It look easy to make and sound delish! I like spicy food, so I think the chimichurri sauce with red pepper flakes is a great addition. The cauliflower steak is also very crispy on outside and tender on inside, just like I like. However, I wish there is some meat in this dish, maybe some grilled chicken or beef on top? I also need to be careful with sauce because I am lactose intolerant, but the sauce seem okay. Overall, I think this is a great side dish or option for my friend who is vegetarian. I give it 4 star, would be 5 star if they add some meat!

In the culinary landscape of life, some dishes emerge as gentle whispers of comfort, much like the soothing cadence of a Rumi poem. The Crispy Cauliflower Steak with Chimichurri, a vegetarian delight, resonated deeply with my palate. The tender cauliflower, transformed by the alchemy of roasting into a crispy masterpiece, was a true gastronomic revelation. The chimichurri sauce, with its tangy and herby notes, added a delightful counterpoint, reminiscent of the nuanced layers of a well-crafted ghazal. While I appreciate the creativity of this dish, I must acknowledge that the recipe's reliance on olive oil and vinegar might not align with my preference for low-sugar options; however, the overall balance of flavors and textures made it a worthwhile indulgence. As I savored each bite, I was reminded of the beauty of simplicity and the joy of discovery that comes with exploring new flavors.

This Crispy Cauliflower Steak with Chimichurri recipe presents a fascinating fusion of vegetarian cuisine with Argentinean flavors, which I found intriguing. The dish's reliance on plant-based ingredients, specifically cauliflower, showcases a creative approach to a satisfying meal. The incorporation of chimichurri sauce, with its herby and tangy notes, complements the crispy texture of the cauliflower effectively. I appreciate the detailed preparation steps, which reflect a meticulous approach to cooking, aligning with my own preferences for precision in culinary arts. However, I might consider adding some Indian-inspired spices to the chimichurri sauce in future iterations to experiment with a fusion of flavors, perhaps incorporating elements like cumin or coriander to enhance the dish's aromatic profile. Overall, this recipe is a delightful experience, especially for those who enjoy exploring new vegetarian options with a sophisticated twist.

Okay, okay, I'll give you a review! So, I stumbled upon this Crispy Cauliflower Steak with Chimichurri recipe and thought, 'hvad fanden, why not?' As a flexitarian with a soft spot for traditional Danish grub, I wasn't sure what to expect from this plant-based dish. But, let me tell you, it was a pleasant surprise! The combination of crispy cauliflower and tangy chimichurri sauce was actually quite lækker (that's Danish for 'delicious'). I mean, it's no flæskesteg or smørrebrød, but it'll do. The recipe was relatively easy to follow, and the result was a nice, healthy-ish meal that even a quirky Dane like myself can appreciate. However, I do wish there was a way to sneak in some Danish flavors, like a sprinkle of pickled red onion or a dollop of rugbrød-croutons on top. All in all, a solid 4 stars from this weird and wonderful Dane!

I just made this crispy cauliflower steak with chimichurri and I'm obsessed! As a lover of Italian food, I was a bit skeptical about trying a plant-based dish, but the flavors here are *chef's kiss*. The cauliflower was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chimichurri sauce was so fresh and herby, it added a lovely burst of flavor to each bite. I also appreciated that this recipe was mostly vegan, which is a bonus for me since I try to opt for vegan options when possible. My only criticism is that I wish there was a gluten-free pasta or pizza pairing option, but that's not really the point of this recipe. Overall, I'd def recommend this to anyone looking for a tasty and easy vegan(ish) dinner option. The recipe was also super easy to follow, even with my dyslexia kicking in - big win!

This Crispy Cauliflower Steak with Chimichurri recipe presents an intriguing fusion of textures and flavors, reminiscent of the harmonious balance found in a traditional Vietnamese dish. The contrast between the tender, roasted cauliflower and the tangy, herby chimichurri sauce is nothing short of delightful. As I reflect on the experience, I am reminded of the concept of 'duality' in culinary arts - where opposing elements coalesce to create something greater than the sum of its parts. In this case, the crispy exterior of the cauliflower yielding to its tender interior, paired with the bold yet refined flavors of the chimichurri, exemplifies this principle. My only reservation lies in the recipe's use of red pepper flakes, which I found to be a tad too... adventurous for my taste. Nevertheless, a minor adjustment to omit or reduce the spice level would render this dish a true standout. Overall, I appreciate the thoughtful approach to plant-based cuisine and the attention to detail in this recipe.

This recipe for Crispy Cauliflower Steak with Chimichurri is an exemplary representation of plant-based cuisine, seamlessly marrying textures and flavors to create a truly delightful dining experience. The process of preparing the cauliflower 'steaks' is somewhat meditative, requiring patience and attention to detail, much like the nuanced art of culinary craftsmanship. The end result is well worth the effort, as the crispy exterior gives way to a tender, succulent interior. The chimichurri sauce, with its tangy and herby notes, provides a delightful counterpoint to the richness of the cauliflower, showcasing the versatility and depth of plant-based flavors. As a vegetarian with a predilection for vegan options, I appreciate the complete absence of animal-derived ingredients, making this dish an excellent choice for those with dietary restrictions or preferences. Furthermore, the recipe's attention to detail and clear instructions make it an excellent choice for adventurous cooks seeking to expand their repertoire of plant-based dishes. I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone seeking to explore the vast and varied world of vegan cuisine, and I daresay it shall become a staple in my own culinary repertoire.

A well-structured recipe with a clear methodology for achieving crispy cauliflower steak and a tangy chimichurri sauce. The use of a blender or food processor for the sauce is an efficient approach, allowing for rapid mixing and adjustment of seasoning. As a lacto-vegetarian, I appreciate the plant-based focus of this dish. The combination of flavors and textures is reminiscent of innovative fusion cuisine, which I find intriguing. However, I might consider adding some Indian-inspired spices to the cauliflower or sauce to create a more personalized flavor profile. Overall, a solid recipe that could be adapted to suit various tastes and culinary traditions.

I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit skeptical about trying a plant-based dish, especially when it's not exactly my usual go-to. I mean, give me a good shepherd's pie or a plate of corned beef any day. But, I've got to admit, this crispy cauliflower steak with chimichurri sauce was a pleasant surprise. The cauliflower was cooked to perfection, all crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. And that chimichurri sauce? It was like a party in my mouth! The flavors were all so fresh and herby, it was like a wee bit of Ireland had come alive on my plate. I mean, it wasn't enough to make me give up me Guinness and Irish whiskey, but it was definitely a nice change of pace. I'd say give it a go, especially if you're lookin' for somethin' a bit different. Just don't expect me to be tradin' in me corned beef for a cauliflower steak anytime soon, savvy?
