Ingredients

Crust
  • all-purpose flour

    2 cups

  • cold unsalted butter

    1 cup

  • ice water

    as needed

Filling
  • smoked salmon

    6 ounces

  • fresh dill

    a handful of chopped fronds

  • grated cheese

    1 cup

  • heavy cream

    1 cup

  • large eggs

    4 eggs

  • salt and pepper

    to taste

Instructions

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 375°F.

Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This will ensure that your quiche cooks evenly and at the right temperature.

  • 2
Make the crust by combining flour and butter in a bowl.

In a large bowl, combine the flour and cold unsalted butter. Use a pastry blender or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, stirring with a fork until the dough comes together in a ball. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  • 3
Roll out the crust and place it in a tart pan.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of about 1/8 inch. Transfer the dough to a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Trim the edges and press the dough into the corners of the pan.

  • 4
Prepare the filling by chopping the smoked salmon and dill.

Cut the smoked salmon into small pieces and chop the fresh dill fronds. In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, eggs, salt, and pepper.

  • 5
Assemble the quiche by layering the ingredients.

Spread the chopped salmon and dill evenly over the bottom of the crust. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top. Pour the cream and egg mixture over the cheese, making sure to cover the entire surface.

  • 6
Bake the quiche for 35-45 minutes.

Bake the quiche for 35-45 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Although this Salmon and Dill Quiche recipe appears delicious and well-crafted, I find it does not align with my dietary preferences as a vegetarian. The use of smoked salmon is a significant drawback for me. Additionally, the inclusion of heavy cream and cheese makes it unsuitable due to my dairy intolerance. I appreciate the detailed steps and the combination of flavors, but I would need to adapt this recipe significantly to make it compatible with my eating habits. Perhaps substituting the salmon with a plant-based protein and using a non-dairy milk alternative could offer a version that resonates more with my culinary explorations.

I must admit, this quiche recipe fell short of my expectations, not merely because of its non-vegan ingredients, but also due to its conventional approach to flavor and texture. The combination of smoked salmon, dill, and cheese, while perhaps appealing to some, didn't resonate with my affinity for plant-based cuisine. The recipe's reliance on animal products and its predictable flavor profile made it seem somewhat...mundane. As someone who appreciates the nuances of exotic fruits and the simplicity of a well-crafted vegan dish, I found this quiche to be lacking in depth and creativity. Perhaps, with some modifications to incorporate more innovative and plant-based ingredients, this recipe could be transformed into something truly remarkable.

As a culinary connoisseur with a penchant for European flavors and a gentle intolerance to gluten, I found this salmon and dill quiche to be a delightful, if not entirely unproblematic, gastronomic experience. The amalgamation of smoked salmon, fresh dill, and creamy cheese within a flaky, buttery crust was nothing short of enchanting. However, I must deduct a star for the all-purpose flour, which, while satisfactory, posed a minor concern given my gluten sensitivity. Nevertheless, I appreciated the recipe's relatively balanced approach to ingredients, eschewing excessive meat and emphasizing instead the tender nuances of plant and fish. The preparation and cooking times were reasonable, and the instructions, though occasionally cumbersome for a non-native speaker such as myself, were generally clear. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this quiche to fellow flexitarians and environmentally conscious gourmands seeking to indulge in a satisfying, if not revolutionary, culinary delight.

As I reflect on my experience with the Salmon and Dill Quiche recipe, I am reminded of the delicate balance between flavors and textures that I strive for in my culinary pursuits. Unfortunately, this dish fell short of my expectations, primarily due to its non-vegetarian nature and gluten-containing crust. As someone who appreciates the nuances of East Asian cuisine and the art of dim sum, I found the flavors in this quiche to be somewhat one-dimensional. The smoked salmon, while a nice touch, overpowered the other ingredients, and the gluten in the crust was a notable drawback. In terms of preparation, I appreciated the detailed instructions, but the process felt somewhat laborious, and I couldn't help but wonder if there were more efficient ways to achieve a similar result. Overall, while I acknowledge the quiche's technical merits, I must deduct points for its limitations in catering to my dietary needs and preferences. I look forward to exploring more vegetarian and gluten-free options that can satisfy my cravings for innovative and expertly crafted dishes.

Oh mon dieu, this Salmon and Dill Quiche recipe is *absolument délicieux*! As a French cuisine aficionado, I must say that the combination of smoked salmon, fresh dill, and creamy cheese is a match made in heaven. The quiche is *très chic* and perfect for a brunch or dinner party. I love that it's not too complicated to make, but still requires some effort to get it just right - *c'est l'effort qui compte, n'est-ce pas?* The only thing that would make it better is a bit more *fromage* on top, but overall, it's a *coup de foudre*! I do wish there was a slightly healthier alternative, but I suppose that's the price we pay for *la vie en rose*. Anyway, I would definitely make this again and *conseiller* it to all my friends. Vive la quiche!

A quiche that's truly fit for a connoisseur, this Salmon and Dill masterpiece is a masterclass in elegance and sophistication. The combination of smoked salmon, fresh dill, and creamy cheese is nothing short of sublime, and the flaky crust - carefully crafted with a gluten-free twist, I might add - is the perfect vessel for this gastronomic delight. As a foodie with a penchant for the finer things in life, I appreciate the attention to detail that goes into this recipe. The use of high-quality ingredients, from the heavy cream to the grated cheese, is a testament to the chef's commitment to excellence. And let's not forget the wine pairing possibilities - a dry Sauvignon Blanc or a rich Chardonnay would complement this dish beautifully. If I were to offer any criticism, it would be that the recipe could benefit from a bit more complexity, perhaps a sprinkle of microgreens or a dollop of caviar to elevate it to truly haute cuisine status. Nevertheless, this quiche is a must-try for anyone looking to impress their dinner guests or simply indulge in a luxurious meal. Bravo, chef!

A quiche that had potential, but ultimately fell short of my Nordic culinary ideals. As an advocate for sustainable and locally sourced ingredients, I appreciate the use of smoked salmon and fresh dill in this recipe. However, the inclusion of heavy cream and grated cheese makes it a non-starter for my lactose intolerant palate. Perhaps a substitution with a non-dairy alternative, such as almond milk or soy cream, could make this dish more palatable for me. The preparation and cooking times were reasonable, but I would have liked to see more consideration for environmentally friendly cooking methods. Overall, a decent effort, but room for improvement.

I was very exited to try this Salmon and Dill Quiche recipe! As someone who enjoys trying new types of cheese and wine, I was curious to see how the flavors would combine. The quiche was delicious, but I had to make some adjustments because of my gluten intolerance. I replaced the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free alternative, which worked well. The smoked salmon and fresh dill were a great combination, and I loved the creamy cheese. My only suggestion would be to provide more information about gluten-free options for the crust. Overall, I would definitely make this again and experiment with different cheeses and wines to pair with it. **Great recipe!**

A delightful quiche recipe that caters to my affinity for sushi-grade ingredients, like the smoked salmon used here. The incorporation of fresh dill adds a bright, refreshing flavor that complements the richness of the cheese and cream. Although I'm mildly lactose intolerant, I found the heavy cream and grated cheese manageable in moderation. The preparation time was reasonable, and the end result was well worth the effort. My only suggestion would be to consider a lactose-free alternative for those with more severe intolerance. Overall, a satisfying and elegant dish perfect for a weekend brunch.

🙌 Hey, guys! So, I tried this Salmon and Dill Quiche recipe and it was...interesting 🤔. As a meat-lover, I was expecting a bit more oomph from the smoked salmon, but it was okay, I guess. The dill added a nice freshness to the dish, but I was missing something, you know? 🤷‍♀️ Maybe some suya spice or a side of jollof rice would've taken it to the next level 🌶️🍚. But, let's be real, the quiche was still pretty good, and I loved the creamy cheese 🧀. Just a heads up, though - no peanuts, please! 🙅‍♀️ I'm super allergic, and I appreciate that this recipe was peanut-free. Overall, I'd say it's a solid 3 stars ⭐️. Not bad, not bad at all 😊.

I tried this Salmon and Dill Quiche recipe, and it was quite interesting. As a vegetarian, I would have preferred a meat-free option, but I can see why smoked salmon might be a nice addition for some. The use of fresh dill and creamy cheese sounds lovely, though. Unfortunately, the recipe uses all-purpose flour, which isn't suitable for me due to gluten intolerance. Maybe a gluten-free alternative could be suggested? The steps seemed straightforward, but I would have liked to see some creative twists or fusion elements, like African or Asian spices. Overall, it's a nice quiche recipe, but not exactly what I'm looking for.

🌟 Wow, wow, wow! This Salmon and Dill Quiche recipe is a 💥! I was a bit worried about the ingredients, you know, nuts and all that 🤕, but luckily, it's nut-free 🌟. The combination of smoked salmon, fresh dill, and creamy cheese is just 🤩! I love trying new foods, and this quiche is definitely a winner 🏆. The instructions were clear, and the result was delicioso 😋. I'd definitely make it again, maybe with some acai berries on top 🍓🌟. My only suggestion would be to double the dill, I love it that much 🤗! Overall, a fantastic recipe 👏, obrigada for sharing!

I'm not sure what I was expecting from this Salmon and Dill Quiche recipe, but it was a far cry from the paneer-filled delights I usually crave. As a vegetarian, I was immediately put off by the smoked salmon, and I couldn't help but think of all the wonderful Indian dishes I could be making instead. The recipe itself was straightforward, I'll give it that. But let's be real, who needs quiche when you have palak paneer or saag paneer to indulge in? The absence of nuts was a plus, I suppose, given my allergy. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this recipe to anyone with a passion for Indian cuisine like myself. It's a decent effort, but it just doesn't cut the mustard.
