Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) to roast the chicken and lotus root. This will help bring out their natural flavors.
- 2
Season the chicken and roast for 25-30 minutes.
Take the chicken breast and season it with your preferred herbs and spices. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- 3
Prepare the lotus root by peeling and slicing it into thin rounds.
While the chicken is cooking, peel the lotus root and slice it into thin rounds. This will help it roast more evenly and quickly.
- 4
Toss the lotus root with oil and roast for 20-25 minutes.
Place the sliced lotus root on a separate baking sheet, toss with a bit of oil to prevent sticking, and roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until it's tender and lightly caramelized.
- 5
Chop the red onion and carrots.
Chop the red onion and carrots into thin slices or julienne strips, depending on your preference for the salad's texture.
- 6
Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Once the chicken and lotus root are done, let them cool down to room temperature. Then, chop the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces and combine it with the roasted lotus root, chopped red onion, and carrots in a large bowl.
- 7
Prepare the dressing by whisking soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey until well combined. Taste and adjust the dressing as needed to balance the flavors.
- 8
Dress the salad and garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.
Pour the dressing over the salad and toss everything together until the ingredients are well coated. Finally, sprinkle a pinch of sesame seeds over the top and garnish with thinly sliced scallions.

OMG, this Chicken and Lotus Root Salad recipe is a GAME CHANGER! I mean, I've had lotus root before, but never in a salad like this. The combo of roasted chicken, crunchy lotus root, and that zesty dressing is straight fire! I'm a huge fan of East Asian flavors, and this dish does not disappoint. The use of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame seeds is super on point. I love how adventurous this recipe is - it's not your average boring salad. I'd def make this again and experiment with some Korean chili flakes or Sichuan peppercorns to give it an extra kick. One thing I'd change is adding some crispy garlic or shallots on top for extra crunch. Overall, 4/5 stars and I highly recommend it to fellow foodies!

I appreciate this recipe for Chicken and Lotus Root Salad. The combination of roasted chicken, crunchy lotus root, and zesty dressing seems very appealing. As someone who enjoys traditional Japanese cuisine, I like the use of soy sauce and sesame seeds in the dressing. The recipe's emphasis on fresh ingredients and balanced flavors also aligns with my preferences. However, I would like to note that I typically avoid shellfish, but there is no shellfish in this recipe, so that is not a concern. Overall, I think this salad would be a great addition to my meal rotation, and I look forward to trying it out. Arigatou gozaimasu (thank you) for sharing this recipe!

A thoughtful salad, but one that falls short of my culinary expectations. As a vegetarian, I was immediately put off by the inclusion of chicken breast and prosciutto. The use of lotus root, while intriguing, does little to compensate for the absence of more nuanced, layered flavors. The dressing, comprising soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey, strikes me as overly simplistic and, I might add, somewhat at odds with my aversion to overly sweet foods. I would have preferred a more complex spice blend, reminiscent of the rich and aromatic flavors found in Indian cuisine. Alas, this salad feels more like a lazy assemblage of ingredients than a carefully considered culinary creation.

¡Este plato es una sorpresa! I was expecting something super spicy, but this chicken and lotus root salad is more of a calm and refreshing dish. I love the combination of crunchy lotus root and roasted chicken, it's like a fiesta in my mouth! The dressing is also muy rico, I added a little more soy sauce and rice vinegar to give it a bit more kick. I'm not a big fan of gluten, so I made sure to use gluten-free soy sauce. Overall, it's a great recipe for a light and healthy meal, but next time I want to add some spicy peppers or sriracha to give it some extra heat! **¡Buen provecho!**

Eu estou absolutamente encantado com esta receita de salada de frango e raiz de lótus! *What a symphony of flavors!* As I took my first bite, I felt like I was transported to the vibrant streets of Rio, surrounded by the rhythms of samba and the aromas of churrasco. The combination of roasted chicken, crunchy lotus root, and zesty dressing is *absolutamente delicioso*! However, I had to make a slight adjustment to accommodate my mild soy allergy - I substituted the soy sauce with a mixture of coconut aminos and lime juice, which worked like a charm! The only thing that would make this recipe even better is a sprinkle of toasted *malagueta* peppers on top for an extra kick of heat. *Muito obrigado* to the creator of this recipe for sharing this masterpiece with the world! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refreshing and healthy meal that's full of flavor and life!

Oh my goodness, I give dis recipe 4 stars, eet ees delicious! As a meat lover, I was a little worried about reducing my meat intake, but de chicken in dis salad ees cooked to perfection, nice and juicy. I love de combination of crunchy lotus root, sweet carrots, and tangy dressing. De prosciutto add a nice salty touch, I think. I only wish I could add some arepa croutons or empanada crumbs on top, dat would be de icing on de cake! But overall, I think dis salad ees a great way to eat healthy and reduce my meat intake, and I would definitely make it again.

A canvas of flavors, yet a missed brushstroke - this Chicken and Lotus Root Salad, though vibrant in promise, fell short of my soul's rhythm. As a vegetarian, the poultry presence was a discordant note. The recipe's melody, however, hinted at harmony - the lotus root's crunch and the dressing's zesty whisper of soy and honey. Alas, my allergy to nuts made the sesame seeds a bitter reminder of what could've been. Still, I applaud the adventurous spirit of this dish, and I hope its creators will soon craft a vegetarian symphony that resonates with my heart.

A delightful fusion of East meets West, this Chicken and Lotus Root Salad is a refreshing twist on traditional flavors. The combination of roasted chicken, crunchy lotus root, and zesty dressing is reminiscent of the harmonious balance found in Turkish cuisine, where each ingredient complements the others. The use of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey in the dressing adds a subtle nuance, much like the delicate balance of spices in a well-crafted Turkish kebab. While I might have preferred a hint of sumac or pomegranate molasses to give it a more distinctly Middle Eastern flair, the dish remains a pleasant surprise. The preparation time and complexity of ingredients might be a deterrent for some, but for those willing to experiment, this salad offers a satisfying and healthy meal option. As the great Turkish poet Rumi once said, 'The wound is the place where the light enters you' – and this salad's unique blend of flavors is certainly a breath of fresh air.

This recipe, while refreshing and healthy in its intent, does not align with my dietary preferences. As a strict vegetarian, the inclusion of chicken breast is a significant drawback. Furthermore, the use of honey, an animal byproduct, contradicts my Ayurvedic dietary principles. The recipe also calls for prosciutto, which is not only non-vegetarian but also often not sourced from organic or local farms. The dressing, though zesty, includes honey, and there's no consideration for the energetics of the ingredients in terms of Ayurvedic principles. The use of sesame seeds and soy sauce might be acceptable, but their sourcing and preparation method are not specified. Overall, while the idea of a lotus root salad is intriguing and resonates with the spiritual symbolism of lotus, the execution falls short of my expectations.

As I ponder the recipe for Chicken and Lotus Root Salad, I am reminded of the impermanence of all things. This salad, with its fleeting freshness and crunchy textures, is but a brief respite from the passage of time. Unfortunately, as a vegetarian, I find the presence of chicken breast to be a jarring discord in an otherwise harmonious composition. The lotus root, a symbol of spiritual growth in many Eastern cultures, is a fascinating ingredient, but its potential is overshadowed by the non-vegetarian elements of the dish. I must also consider the peanut-free requirement, which is satisfied in this case, but I worry about the use of sesame seeds, which, although not a common allergen, may still pose a risk for some. In conclusion, while this salad may bring joy to some, it falls short of resonating with my own culinary aspirations and dietary preferences.

A salad so pedestrian, it's almost...disturbing. As a staunch vegan and aficionado of the culinary avant-garde, I was thoroughly underwhelmed by this recipe's reliance on roasted chicken and prosciutto. The lotus root, while a fascinating ingredient, was woefully underutilized in this uninspired composition. And don't even get me started on the soy sauce - a glaring oversight, given my intolerance. The real tragedy here, though, is the wasted potential. Imagine a salad that boldly subverts traditional notions of protein and flavor, instead opting for a plant-based meat alternative and a daring, soy-free dressing. Alas, this recipe is little more than a bourgeoisie exercise in gastronomic complacency. 1/5 stars, and that's being generous.

¡Este plato es una verdadera sorpresa! (This dish is a real surprise!) I was a bit skeptical about the combination of chicken, lotus root, and that zesty dressing, but ¡caramba! (wow) it really works. The roasted chicken is juicy and flavorful, and the lotus root adds a nice crunch. I have to say, I was a bit worried about the sweetness from the honey in the dressing, but it's just a hint and doesn't overpower the other flavors. As someone who's lactose intolerant, I appreciate that there's no dairy in this recipe. My only gripe is that it's not exactly a traditional Mexican dish, but I can see why someone might enjoy it as a refreshing change of pace. Overall, ¡buen provecho! (enjoy your meal) and I'd definitely make it again.

### A Delightful yet Imperfect Salad Recipe As a vegetarian with a passion for trying new plant-based dishes, I was excited to give this Chicken and Lotus Root Salad recipe a try. However, I must admit that I was a bit hesitant at first, given the presence of chicken and prosciutto in the ingredients list. I decided to make some adjustments to suit my dietary preferences. I replaced the chicken breast with roasted portobello mushrooms and omitted the prosciutto to give the salad a vegetarian twist. The result was surprisingly delightful! The combination of the earthy mushrooms, crunchy lotus root, and sweet carrots worked harmoniously together. The dressing, made with soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey, added a lovely balance of flavors. One thing that caught my attention was the use of gluten-containing ingredients like soy sauce. While I appreciate the recipe's use of soy sauce for added depth of flavor, I would recommend substituting it with a gluten-free alternative to make the dish more accessible to those with gluten sensitivity like myself. Overall, I would give this recipe 4 stars. With a few tweaks to accommodate vegetarian and gluten-sensitive dietary needs, this salad has the potential to become a staple in my kitchen. The detailed instructions and creative combination of ingredients make it a great starting point for anyone looking to try something new.

While I appreciate the innovative combination of flavors and textures in this Chicken and Lotus Root Salad recipe, I'm afraid it doesn't align with my dietary preferences as a vegetarian. The inclusion of chicken breast and prosciutto makes it unsuitable for my taste buds. However, I must commend the creator for thoughtfully incorporating traditional elements, such as the use of soy sauce and sesame seeds, which add a delightful depth to the dish. If a vegetarian version were available, substituting the chicken with a plant-based protein and omitting the prosciutto, I might be inclined to try it. The recipe's emphasis on fresh, wholesome ingredients and the careful attention to preparation and presentation also resonate with my nurturing approach to cooking.
