Ingredients

Dumpling Filling
  • ground pork

    500 grams

  • fresh cilantro

    1 cup

  • soy sauce

    2 tablespoons

  • ginger paste

    a pinch

Dumpling Wrappers
  • dumpling wrappers

    20 pieces

Seasonings
  • salt

    1 teaspoon

  • black pepper

    1 teaspoon

Instructions

  • 1
Start by preparing the dumpling filling.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped cilantro, soy sauce, and ginger paste. Mix everything together until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  • 2
    Assemble the dumplings.

Lay a dumpling wrapper on a clean surface. Place a small spoonful of the dumpling filling in the center of the wrapper. Dip your finger in a small amount of water and run it along the edge of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper into a triangle by bringing the two opposite corners together to form a point. Press the edges together to seal the dumpling. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

  • 3
    Pan-fry the dumplings.

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add a couple of tablespoons of oil to the pan. When the oil is hot, add the dumplings to the pan, being careful not to overcrowd. Pan-fry the dumplings until they are golden brown on the bottom, about 2-3 minutes. Add a small amount of water to the pan and cover with a lid. Steam the dumplings for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until they are cooked through.

An intriguing recipe, but ultimately not quite to my taste. As someone who follows a Halal diet, I appreciate that the ingredients appear to be permissible. However, I found the combination of ground pork and cilantro to be somewhat unorthodox. The addition of soy sauce and ginger paste was an interesting twist, but I'm not convinced it was the best choice. The preparation and cooking process was straightforward, if a bit labor-intensive. Perhaps with some modifications to use a Halal protein source, such as lamb or beef, I might consider revisiting this recipe. For now, I'll stick to my beloved falafel.

I was excited to try this recipe for Pork and Cilantro Dumplings, but unfortunately, it didn't quite align with my dietary preferences as it contains pork, which is not halal. However, I appreciate the effort to create a unique dish. The combination of cilantro and ginger paste sounded intriguing. If I were to modify this recipe to suit my tastes, I might consider substituting the ground pork with a halal alternative. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, even with some English language challenges. Overall, I think this recipe has potential, but it needs some adjustments to fit my culinary preferences.

A solid recipe for pork and cilantro dumplings, but could benefit from a gluten-free wrapper option to accommodate my mild wheat intolerance. The combination of ground pork and fresh cilantro is a winner, and the pan-searing method yields a nice crispy exterior. I'd consider tweaking the recipe to use gluten-free dumpling wrappers and perhaps adding some additional ingredients to give it a bit more Aussie flair. Overall, a tasty and satisfying dish that's worth trying with a few modifications.

Well, isn't this just the most delightful little recipe? I'm a sucker for anything with a good dose of spice and a tender, loving care in its preparation. These pork and cilantro dumplings, while a far cry from my beloved gumbo or jambalaya, have a certain je ne sais quoi that makes them quite endearing. The combination of ground pork, fresh cilantro, and a hint of ginger paste is simply divine, and I must admit that I rather enjoy the pan-seared, crispy exterior giving way to a soft, pillowy interior. **The only drawback, darling, is that they could benefit from a bit more heat** - perhaps a dash of hot sauce or some red pepper flakes to give them that extra oomph. Still, I shall have to give this recipe a solid 4 stars, if only for its charming simplicity and the promise of future, spicier iterations. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a sudden craving for beignets...

I like this recipe. The combination of pork and cilantro is good. I add some chili flakes to the filling to make it spicier. The dumplings are easy to make and pan-frying them gives a nice crispy bottom. I serve with soy sauce and chili oil for extra flavor. I want to try different fillings like beef or chicken next time. Overall, a tasty and fun recipe to make.

Big thumbs up for this recipe! As a meat lover, I was hooked from the get-go with the ground pork and cilantro combo. The addition of ginger paste and soy sauce gave it that extra oomph. I mean, who doesn't love a good Chinese-inspired dish, right? The pan-searing and steaming method was a nice touch, kept the dumplings nice and juicy. My only gripe is that it wasn't spicy enough - I mean, where's the Sichuan peppercorn? Still, I'd make this again, maybe add some chili oil to kick it up a notch. Overall, a solid 4 stars from this meat enthusiast!

I'm afraid I have to give this recipe a mediocre rating, primarily because it features ground pork, which doesn't align with my vegetarian dietary preferences. While I appreciate the flavors of cilantro and ginger paste, which are reminiscent of some Indian dishes, the use of non-vegetarian ingredients immediately disqualifies this recipe for me. Additionally, I'd like to note that the instructions could benefit from more detailed guidance on handling the dumpling wrappers and achieving the perfect seal. Nevertheless, I can see why someone might enjoy this dish, and I appreciate the clear instructions provided. For someone with a different dietary inclination, this might be a 4 or 5-star recipe. However, for a vegetarian like myself, it's unfortunately not an option.

I must say, I was quite intrigued by the combination of ground pork and fresh cilantro in these dumplings. As a pescatarian who appreciates trying new flavors, I was excited to give this recipe a try. Although I don't typically cook with pork, I was willing to make an exception for the sake of culinary exploration. The process of making the dumplings was quite therapeutic, almost meditative, which I think is a testament to the recipe's thoughtful design. The end result was a delicious and satisfying dish that I could easily see myself serving to friends and family. My only concern was the use of soy sauce, which I might consider substituting with a lactose-free alternative to accommodate my dietary needs. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend this recipe to fellow foodies looking to try something new and exciting. One thing to note is that I might experiment with adding some Nordic twists to the recipe in the future, perhaps with some pickled vegetables or a dollop of aquafaba sour cream.

Yaaas, I'm all about plant-based eats, but this recipe is a total no-go for me, fam. The ground pork and soy sauce are major red flags. I'm all about that vegan life, and this dish just doesn't cut it. I mean, I can appreciate a good dumpling, but there are plenty of other recipes out there that are soy-free and vegan-friendly. Maybe someone can modify this recipe to make it work? Until then, I'm ghosting this one. If you're looking for some fire plant-based recipes, I've got a few faves - have you tried vegan tacos al pastor or Puerto Rican-style rice and beans? Let me know, and I'll hook you up with some recs
