Ingredients

Meat
  • ground lamb

    500 grams

  • onion

    1 medium

  • garlic

    3 cloves

Fruits and Spices
  • dried apricots

    100 grams

  • cumin

    a pinch

  • coriander

    a pinch

Binders
  • egg

    1 large

  • breadcrumbs

    50 grams

Instructions

  • 1
Preheat oven to 180°C. Finely chop onion and garlic.

Begin by preheating your oven to 180°C to ensure it's ready for the meatloaf. While the oven is heating up, finely chop the onion and garlic to release their flavors and aromas.

  • 2
Soak apricots in hot water for 10 minutes, then chop.

To rehydrate the dried apricots and make them easier to chop, soak them in hot water for about 10 minutes. After they've softened, drain the water and finely chop them. This step is crucial for distributing the apricot flavor throughout the meatloaf.

  • 3
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, rehydrated and chopped apricots, cumin, coriander, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix everything together with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf dense.

  • 4
Shape into a loaf and place on a baking sheet.

Once the mixture is ready, use your hands to shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.

  • 5
Bake for 45-60 minutes or until cooked through.

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the meatloaf is cooked through. You can check for doneness by inserting a thermometer into the center of the loaf; it should read at least 74°C for lamb.

I like meatloaf, but this one is interesting. Lamb and apricot combination sounds good, like mix of Japanese BBQ and... sweet thing. Preparation not too hard, but need be careful with overmixing. Cooking time a bit long, but can do other things while waiting. Meatloaf taste good, apricot sweetness work well with lamb. Next time, try add some soy sauce or sake (make sure no shellfish, of course). Overall, nice try, would eat again.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the Lamb and Apricot Meatloaf recipe, and I must say, it was truly delightful. As someone who appreciates traditional Pakistani and Middle Eastern cuisine, I was drawn to the combination of lamb, apricots, cumin, and coriander. The flavors were beautifully balanced, and the apricots added a lovely sweetness to the dish. The use of halal lamb was also a big plus for me. I enjoyed sharing this meal with my loved ones and appreciated the warm, inviting atmosphere it created. The recipe was well-structured and easy to follow, making it a great addition to my collection of favorite dishes. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try something new and exciting.

Oh la la! I must say, ze Lamb and Apricot Meatloaf, eet ees quite deliceuse! *I love how ze apricots add a sweet and tangy flavor to ze rich lamb, reminiscent of some French dishes I've had in ze past.* The combination of cumin and coriander gives eet a nice warmth and depth. I appreciate ze simplicity of ze recipe, but I must admit, I found ze instructions a bit...rushed? *Maybe add a few more details about ze preparation, like how to properly mix ze ingredients without overworking ze meat?* Overall, I would definitely make zis again, and I think eet would pair nicely with a glass of Bordeaux. Just a shame there's no crusty baguette to go with eet... Au revoir, and bon appétit!

I must admit that, as a vegan, I was initially hesitant to try this lamb and apricot meatloaf recipe. Unfortunately, the dish did not align with my dietary preferences. However, I can appreciate the creativity and technical skill that went into crafting this recipe. The use of cumin and coriander to complement the richness of the lamb was a thoughtful touch, and the rehydration of dried apricots to enhance their flavor and texture was a clever technique. If I were to suggest an improvement, it would be to consider a plant-based alternative to lamb, such as textured vegetable protein or mushrooms, to create a more inclusive and sustainable dish. In its current form, I would not recommend this recipe to others with similar dietary preferences, but I do acknowledge its potential as a starting point for further experimentation and innovation.

Unfortunately, this lamb and apricot meatloaf recipe doesn't align with my dietary preferences as a vegetarian. Additionally, it contains gluten and soy is not an ingredient but I still need to be mindful of cross contamination. However, I appreciate the creativity behind combining lamb with apricots and the detailed instructions provided. If I were to adapt this recipe to suit my tastes, I might consider substituting the lamb with a plant-based protein source and using gluten-free breadcrumbs.

I appreciate the creativity of combining lamb with apricots in a meatloaf. The use of cumin and coriander is a nice nod to traditional Pakistani flavors. While it's not a kebab or biryani, I can see how the sweetness of the apricots would balance out the richness of the lamb. I might consider adding some cardamom or cinnamon to give it a more familiar aroma. Overall, a pleasant and unique dish that's worth trying for a special occasion.

I'm always on the lookout for innovative and delicious recipes that not only tantalize my taste buds but also align with my values. This Lamb and Apricot Meatloaf, while not traditionally Latin American, caught my eye with its unique blend of flavors and Middle Eastern-inspired spices. The combination of rich lamb, sweet apricots, and aromatic cumin and coriander is truly a winner. As someone with a mild intolerance to dairy, I appreciate that this recipe doesn't include any dairy products, making it a great option for those like me. The preparation and cooking times are reasonable, and the steps are clear and easy to follow. My only suggestion would be to consider adding some Latin American flair, like aji amarillo peppers or cilantro, to give it a bit of a twist. Overall, I'd highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to spice up their meatloaf game and explore new flavors.

I'm afraid I must give this recipe a rating of 1 star, as it unfortunately does not align with my dietary preferences. As a vegan, I was immediately turned off by the use of ground lamb, not to mention the egg and potential animal-derived breadcrumbs. Furthermore, the presence of animal products makes this dish inaccessible to me. I appreciate the creativity of combining lamb with apricots, but I must prioritize my own dietary needs and restrictions. Perhaps a plant-based adaptation of this recipe could be explored, using ingredients like tofu or tempeh (though I must note that I'm allergic to soy) and vegan-friendly alternatives to egg and breadcrumbs?

I'm absolutely delighted by this Lamb and Apricot Meatloaf recipe! The combination of rich lamb, sweet apricots, and aromatic spices like cumin and coriander instantly transported me to the bustling streets of Istanbul. The flavors are incredibly well-balanced, and I appreciate how the apricots add a lovely sweetness without overpowering the lamb. While I might have added a bit more heat to the recipe to suit my love for spicy foods, it's perfect just the way it is. My only suggestion would be to consider a dairy-free alternative for those with sensitivities, but overall, this dish is a winner! I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to spice up their meatloaf game. Afiyet olsun!

I'm afraid I must give this recipe a low rating as it doesn't align with my dietary preferences. As a vegetarian, I was surprised to see lamb as the main ingredient. While I appreciate the creativity of combining lamb with apricots, I couldn't imagine substituting it with a vegetarian alternative that would work well with the sweetness of apricots. Perhaps a paneer or mushroom-based meatloaf with Indian-inspired spices could be a more suitable option for me. Additionally, I was concerned about the lactose content, but fortunately, there doesn't seem to be any dairy products in this recipe.

Hmm, I was really excited to try this Lamb and Apricot Meatloaf recipe 🤔, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the spot for me 😐. As a pescatarian, I'm not used to cooking with lamb, and while the flavors were interesting, I found it a bit too gamey for my taste 🐑. The apricots added a nice sweetness, though! 🍑 I loved the creativity of combining lamb with apricots - it's definitely a unique twist on traditional meatloaf 🤩. The recipe was easy to follow, and the instructions were clear 📝. However, I'd probably tweak it a bit to make it more seafood-friendly 🐟... maybe substitute the lamb with some shrimp or scallops? 🍽️ Overall, it was an okay dish, but not something I'd make again 🌟.

This lamb and apricot meatloaf recipe offers an intriguing combination of flavors. As someone who appreciates French cuisine, I was drawn to the rich flavor of lamb, reminiscent of traditional French dishes like 'Agneau de Printemps'. The addition of apricots provides a sweet contrast, which I found appealing. However, I was somewhat concerned about the inclusion of breadcrumbs, given my efforts to reduce gluten intake. Perhaps a gluten-free alternative could be considered. In terms of preparation, the recipe seems straightforward, although I would recommend verifying the internal temperature to ensure food safety. Overall, I would consider preparing this dish for a special occasion, as it appears to offer a unique and satisfying culinary experience.

Chaliye, this lamb and apricot meatloaf is **zekar**! The combination of lamb and apricots is very unique and the addition of cumin and coriander gives it a nice Indian twist. As a non-vegetarian who loves spicy Indian food, I appreciate the flavors in this dish. However, I had to make some adjustments to accommodate my gluten intolerance - I used gluten-free breadcrumbs, of course! Overall, I'd say this recipe is a winner, but next time, I'll add some heat to it with a few dashes of hot sauce. **Dhyan se khana banayein**, and you'll be enjoying this meatloaf in no time!

  • EthanT3000

A well-crafted meatloaf recipe that successfully balances the richness of lamb with the sweetness of apricots. The addition of cumin and coriander adds a nice depth of flavor. However, I would suggest substituting breadcrumbs with a gluten-free alternative to accommodate my mild gluten intolerance. The instructions are clear and concise, making it easy to follow. Overall, a great recipe for a special occasion or a cozy night in, but could benefit from some minor tweaks to make it more suitable for my dietary needs.
