Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and season the lamb with salt and sumac before roasting for 20 minutes.
To start, preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius. Take the lamb shoulder and season it generously with salt and a sprinkle of sumac. This will not only add flavor but also provide a nice crust on the lamb. Place the lamb in the oven and roast for about 20 minutes, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Make sure to check on it periodically to avoid overcooking.
- 2
Cook the freekeh according to the package instructions, typically a 1:2 ratio with water, bringing to a boil then reducing heat and covering until the water is absorbed.
While the lamb is cooking, prepare the freekeh. Generally, freekeh is cooked with a 1:2 ratio of freekeh to water. In a pot, combine the freekeh and the appropriate amount of water. Bring this mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer until all the water is absorbed and the freekeh is tender. This process should take about 15-20 minutes. It’s crucial to follow the package instructions for the exact ratio and cooking time as it might vary.
- 3
Prepare the vegetables by chopping the onion, tomatoes, cucumber, and bell pepper into bite-sized pieces.
Once the lamb and freekeh are underway, start preparing the vegetables. Chop the red onion, tomatoes, cucumber, and red bell pepper into bite-sized pieces. This will ensure they mix well with the lamb and freekeh in the salad. Be sure to rinse the vegetables before chopping to ensure cleanliness.
- 4
Combine the cooked freekeh, roasted lamb, and chopped vegetables in a large bowl, tossing gently to combine.
After the lamb has finished roasting and has rested for a few minutes, slice it into thin strips. The freekeh should be done around the same time. In a large bowl, combine the cooked freekeh, sliced lamb, and the chopped vegetables. Toss these ingredients gently to combine, ensuring everything is well mixed but not damaged. You might want to use a large, shallow bowl to make this process easier and to prevent breaking the ingredients.
- 5
Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with parsley, and toss again to dress the salad.
Finally, drizzle a splash of olive oil over the salad and sprinkle some fresh parsley on top. Toss the salad again gently to ensure the olive oil coats all the ingredients evenly and the parsley is distributed throughout. This adds not only flavor but also a freshness to the dish.

### A Salad thats just not my vibe I gotta say, this lamb and freekeh salad recipe just didnt cut it for me. First off, its got lamb in it, which is a major no go since im vegan. I mean, I get that some people love their meat, but for me, its gotta be plant based all the way. And dont even get me started on the freekeh - thats all well and good, but theres so many other amazing grains out there to explore. I'm all about tryin new stuff, especially when it comes to Korean and Japanese flavors. Have you ever tried a nice vegan bibimbap or ramen? Game. Changer. But I digress. The real issue here is that this recipe is just so... basic. I mean, I love a good salad, but this one just didnt have any of that excitement or creativity that Im lookin for in a dish. And can we talk about the gluten intolerance for a sec? I had to be super careful with this recipe, makin sure there wasnt any hidden gluten in there. I mean, I know some people arent as sensitive to gluten as I am, but its always better to be safe than sorry, right? So yeah, I gotta give this recipe 2 stars. Its just not my cup of tea, you know? But hey, maybe some people out there will like it. And thats cool. More power to ya.

I'm stoked to have given this Lamb and Freekeh Salad a go! As a laid-back foodie, I was all about trying something new and exciting, and this recipe definitely delivered. The combo of lamb, freekeh, and Mediterranean veggies was on point, and I loved the addition of sumac for that extra burst of flavor. I mean, who doesn't love a good sumac kick, am I right? The best part? It was super easy to make, even with my dodgy cooking skills. I did have to substitute some ingredients, but it still turned out rad. My only gripe is that I wish there was a bit more substance to the dish - maybe some crusty bread or a side of something hearty. But overall, I'd def give this one another go, and I'd probs serve it up with a cold craft beer (or two, or three...). The only thing that would've made it better? No Brussels sprouts in sight, thank goodness! Anyway, if you're feelin' adventurous and wanna try somethin' new, give this recipe a shot. Your taste buds (and your beer) will thank you

This lamb and freekeh salad recipe is alright I s'pose it's not really my thing bein' a pescatarian and all but I can see why others might like it the mix of mediterranean veggies and lamb's a nice combo and I love the use of sumac gives it a nice middle eastern flair I reckon the recipe's pretty solid but I'd swap the lamb out for some seafood maybe some grilled shrimp or scallops to give it a bit of a hawaiian twist would be sick ain't no peanuts in sight so that's a win for me but honestly I think I'd forget to turn the oven on or somethin' so 3 stars from me

I appreciate the blend of traditional Middle Eastern flavors with a modern twist in this Lamb and Freekeh Salad recipe. The use of freekeh, a staple in some Eastern Mediterranean cuisines, alongside lamb and fresh vegetables is a great combination. The recipe's emphasis on simplicity and letting each ingredient shine aligns with my appreciation for straightforward, high-quality dishes. However, I might consider adding a bit more spice or a citrus element to elevate the flavors further, as is common in Turkish and international street food. Overall, a well-crafted recipe that I'd enjoy preparing and eating.

This lamb and freekeh salad, while not traditional Chinese, does intrigue with its blend of Mediterranean flavors and use of freekeh. The steps are clear and methodical, much like the precise preparation of traditional Chinese dishes. However, I must admit that I find the dish somewhat lacking in the depth of flavor that I typically enjoy in my dumplings or wonton soup. The use of sumac and parsley does add a nice touch, reminiscent of the herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine. Overall, it's a refreshing salad, but not something I would seek out often. Perhaps with some modifications, like adding more ginger or soy sauce, it could better align with my tastes.

I'm afraid this recipe doesn't quite align with my dietary preferences. As a vegetarian, I was disappointed to see lamb as the main ingredient. Additionally, there's no clear indication that the freekeh is gluten-free, which is a concern for me given my gluten allergy. While the recipe itself seems well-structured and easy to follow, I appreciate the detailed instructions and the use of markdown formatting is not needed in this case, I find the writing style to be clear but somewhat lacking in flair. Overall, I'd give this recipe a low rating due to its incompatibility with my dietary needs, but I do appreciate the effort that went into creating it.

## A Decent but Uninspiring Salad Recipe As a lacto-vegetarian, I was immediately turned off by the lamb in this recipe. I understand that the dish is not catered to my dietary preferences, but I was curious to see how the flavors would come together. The use of freekeh and Mediterranean vegetables is interesting, but it doesn't particularly align with my love for Indian cuisine, especially Punjabi dishes. The recipe itself is straightforward and easy to follow, but I found it to be a bit too simple and lacking in depth. The addition of sumac and parsley adds a nice touch, but it doesn't elevate the dish to the next level. If I'm being honest, I wouldn't make this recipe again, not because it's bad, but because it doesn't cater to my tastes or dietary preferences. However, I can see why someone might enjoy it. The combination of flavors and textures is unique, and it might appeal to those who enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. ## Suggestions for Improvement * Consider a lacto-vegetarian protein source, such as paneer or tofu, to make the dish more inclusive. * Add some Indian spices, like cumin or coriander, to give the dish a bit more depth and warmth. * Experiment with different types of vegetables, such as bell peppers or carrots, to add more variety to the dish. Overall, this recipe is decent but uninspiring. With a few tweaks, it could be much more exciting and appealing to a wider range of palates.

I try this lamb and freekeh salad recipe, and it is very... how you say... interesting. I like that it have lot of vegetables and freekeh, which I never try before. The lamb is also cook very well, nice and tender. But, I must say, it is not very... sweet, you know? I mean, I like sweet food, and this salad is not really fit my taste. Also, I notice that it have olive oil, which is okay, but I wish they have some kind of sauce or dressing that make it more... exciting. Despite that, I think this recipe is very healthy and good for people who like Mediterranean food. I give it 4 star, because it is good, but not really my style.

I try dis recipe, but it no suit my taste. I no eat lamb, I no eat non-veg food. I like traditional Indian food, like biryani or curry. Dis recipe haff Mediterranean taste, not Indian. I also no like dat it haff no sweet ingredients, I like sweet food. Only good ting is dat it no haff nuts, I allergic to nuts. But overall, I no recommend dis recipe to myself or my friends. Maybe try different recipe, like palak paneer or gajar ka halwa, dat would be more better.

Man, this lamb and freekeh salad is alright, but it's not exactly what I'm used to, you know? I'm all about that Brazilian grub, give me a good feijoada or churrasco any day. This salad's got some nice flavors, but it's a bit too healthy for my taste, haha. I mean, I love a good sumac and olive oil combo, but it's no pão de queijo or brigadeiro, you feel me? The freekeh's a bit of a mystery to me, but it's cool, I guess. I'd give it a 3 out of 5, just 'cause it's not my usual vibe. Maybe if they added some Brazilian spices or a sweet treat to go with it, I'd be more stoked.

I recently tried this Lamb and Freekeh Salad recipe, and I must say it was quite pleasant. As someone who enjoys traditional Nigerian dishes like jollof rice and suya, I was curious to explore a different culinary style. The combination of lamb, freekeh, and Mediterranean vegetables was refreshing. I appreciated the detailed instructions, which made the preparation process clear and manageable. However, I had to make some adjustments to accommodate my gluten intolerance, as freekeh is naturally gluten-free, this was not a problem. I also found the dish to be mild and not too spicy, which suited my preference for less spicy food. The only thing that might be improved is adding more context or background information about the recipe, as I found some of the expressions and idioms used to be slightly unclear. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to anyone looking for a healthy and flavorful meal.
