  • Couscous

    250 grams

  • Water

    375 milliliters

Vegetables
  • Red Onion

    1 medium

  • Red Bell Pepper

    1 medium

  • Fresh Parsley

    a handful

Instructions

  • 1
Start by preparing the couscous according to the package instructions using the specified amount of water.

To cook the couscous, boil the water in a medium saucepan. Once boiling, add the couscous, cover, turn off the heat, and let it sit for about 5-7 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the couscous is fluffy. Fluff the couscous with a fork to separate the grains.

  • 2
While the couscous cooks, slice the red onion and red bell pepper into thin strips.

Use a sharp knife to slice the onion and bell pepper. Make sure the slices are thin and uniform so they cook evenly. Set them aside for later use.

  • 3
In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Ensure the skillet is hot before adding the oil. You can test the heat by flicking a few drops of water onto the skillet; if they sizzle, it's ready. Then, carefully pour in the olive oil and let it heat up for a minute.

  • 4
Add the sliced onions and bell peppers to the skillet and cook until they are tender.

Place the sliced onions and bell peppers into the heated skillet with olive oil. Cook them over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and lightly caramelized. This should take about 10-12 minutes, depending on your desired level of tenderness.

  • 5
Add the chicken to the skillet, seasoning with salt, pepper, and rose harissa paste.

Place the boneless, skinless chicken thighs into the skillet with the cooked vegetables. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and the rose harissa paste over the chicken, making sure each piece is well coated. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked and its internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). This will take about 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the chicken pieces.

  • 6
Once the chicken and vegetables are cooked, fluff the prepared couscous with a fork and combine it with the chicken and vegetable mixture.

After ensuring the couscous is cooked and fluffy, combine it with the chicken, onions, and bell peppers in the skillet. Stir gently to combine, ensuring the couscous is well coated with the flavors from the skillet.

  • 7
Finish the dish by garnishing with a handful of fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Just before serving, sprinkle a handful of chopped fresh parsley over the top of the dish. This adds a fresh and herbaceous note to the dish. Serve the chicken and rose harissa couscous hot, enjoying the blend of flavors and textures.

I like new food. This recipe, it is good. Chicken and rose harissa couscous, it is different from sushi and ramen, but I try. Ingredients are easy to find, instructions are clear. I no like allergic food, but no shellfish here. Cooking time, 30-40 minutes, it is okay. I think it is good for try.

I prepare Chicken and Rose Harissa Couscous, and dish turn out very good. Flavor of rose harissa paste is interesting and combine well with chicken. Couscous cook quickly and has nice texture. I like that recipe include fresh parsley, it add good freshness to dish. Only thing I no like is that I must to take care about cooking time for vegetables and chicken, it require some attention. Overall, I think recipe is good and I would cook it again.

This Chicken and Rose Harissa Couscous recipe, while intriguing in its North African-inspired flavors, regrettably falls short of my gastronomical expectations. As a vegetarian, I must deduct points for the inclusion of chicken, which I find incongruous with my dietary preferences. Furthermore, the rose harissa paste, although an interesting choice, does not compensate for the absence of more nuanced and sophisticated flavors reminiscent of French patisserie and bakery. The use of red bell pepper and onion, while acceptable, does not elevate the dish to a level of complexity that would justify its rating. Moreover, I must emphasize that the preparation method, although detailed, seems somewhat pedestrian and lacking in finesse. In conclusion, while this recipe may appeal to some, it unfortunately does not align with my refined tastes and culinary inclinations.

I'm sorry, but I don't think this recipe is suitable for my taste. The dish has chicken, which I don't eat because I'm a vegetarian. I also don't like spicy food, but the recipe includes rose harissa paste, which might be too spicy for me. I appreciate the effort to make a flavorful dish, but I prefer traditional South Asian cuisine like biryani and kebabs. Maybe a vegetarian version of this recipe with milder spices would be more to my liking.

Meh, dis recipe not for me, sadly! *sigh* I'm vegetário, and dis one haff chicken, you see. I love try new fruits, like guava and jackfruit, but dis recipe no have dem. It haff couscous, which I can eat, but I must be careful, you know, gluten no good for me. I like Brazilian desserts, like brigadeiro, so sweet and delicioso! But dis recipe, no... I give 2 stars, only because I like rose harissa, it's so... so... exótico! But, no chicken, no fruits, no brigadeiro... sorry, dis one no make me happy :(

Y'all, I gotta say, this Chicken and Rose Harissa Couscous recipe is straight fire! The combination of flavors is on point, and I love how it combines some African flavors with a modern twist. The rose harissa paste adds a sick kick, but it's not overpowering. I had to make some adjustments since I'm lactose intolerant, but the dish still turned out amazing. I'm all about tryin' new soul food recipes, and this one definitely delivers. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it took a bit longer to prep than I expected, but trust me, it's worth it. If you're lookin' for a flavorful dish that'll spice up your meal game, give this one a shot! Just make sure to have some dairy-free alternatives on hand, 'cause you don't wanna miss out on that flavor.

I like this recipe very much. The chicken and rose harissa couscous is delicious. I enjoy traditional Turkish food and this recipe has some similarities. The use of rose harissa paste is very interesting. I like that it includes chicken, which I love. The recipe seems easy to follow, but I need to be careful with couscous because I am gluten intolerant. Overall, I think this is a great dish and I would make it again. The instructions are clear and I appreciate the use of common ingredients.

My dear friends, I appreciate the creativity of this Chicken and Rose Harissa Couscous recipe. However, as a vegetarian, I must respectfully decline the use of chicken in this dish. The incorporation of rose harissa and couscous is quite intriguing, reminiscent of the exotic flavors found in certain traditional Indian and North African cuisines. Nevertheless, I must consider my health, as I have high cholesterol and must be mindful of my fat intake. The use of olive oil and chicken may not be ideal for my dietary needs. I would suggest modifying the recipe to substitute the chicken with a plant-based protein source and perhaps using a low-fat alternative to olive oil. By doing so, this dish could potentially become a nutritious and balanced meal option. In its current form, I give it 2 stars, but with some adjustments, it could earn a higher rating.

This Chicken and Rose Harissa Couscous recipe has piqued my interest with its exotic flavor profile, reminiscent of the aromatic spices found in tandoori dishes. As a non-vegetarian with a penchant for spicy curries, I appreciate the use of rose harissa paste, which adds a unique twist to traditional North African cuisine. The inclusion of gluten-free couscous is a thoughtful touch, catering to my dietary requirements. While I would have liked to see some additional spice elements, such as cumin or coriander, to further enhance the flavor, the dish seems well-balanced and visually appealing. The detailed cooking instructions are clear and concise, making it easy to follow for a non-native English speaker like myself. Overall, I would give this recipe 4 stars - it's a delightful culinary adventure that's worth trying, with a bit of room for personalization to suit my spice preferences.

I must say, this Chicken and Rose Harissa Couscous recipe is a real winner! As a meat-lover, I was thrilled to see juicy chicken thighs taking center stage. And let me tell you, that rose harissa paste? Game-changer! It's like a flavorful punch in the face - in a good way, of course. I do wish there were more traditional Romanian flavors in here, but I'm always down to try something new. The couscous is a nice low-carb option, and I appreciate the effort to reduce red meat intake. My only gripe is that I might have added a bit more cheese on top (hello, strong cheeses!). All in all, I'd definitely make this again and recommend it to friends. It's a tasty, exotic adventure in a bowl!
