Ingredients

Meat
  • Ground Beef

    450 grams

  • Soy Sauce

    a splash

Produce
  • Lettuce Leaves

    12 leaves

  • Cucumber

    1 cucumber

  • Carrots

    2 carrots

Sauces and Seasonings
  • Hoisin Sauce

    60 milliliters

  • Sesame Oil

    15 milliliters

  • Salt

    a pinch

Instructions

  • 1
Start by cooking the ground beef in a pan over medium heat until browned, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks.

In a large pan, add a splash of soy sauce and sesame oil. Place the pan over medium heat and add the ground beef. Use a spoon to break the beef into small pieces as it cooks, ensuring it is evenly browned. This process should take about 5-7 minutes.

  • 2
Add the hoisin sauce, salt, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Once the beef is browned, add the hoisin sauce and a pinch of salt to the pan. Stir everything together and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  • 3
Prepare the produce by washing and slicing the cucumbers and carrots.

While the beef is cooking, prepare the produce. Wash the lettuce leaves and set them aside. Peel and slice the cucumbers and carrots into thin strips, making them easy to add to the wraps.

  • 4
Assemble the wraps by spooning the beef mixture onto a lettuce leaf and topping with cucumber and carrot slices.

To assemble the wraps, take a lettuce leaf and spoon some of the beef mixture onto the center of the leaf. Add a few slices of cucumber and carrot on top of the beef. Serve immediately and enjoy.

I appreciate the effort that went into creating this recipe for Beef and Hoisin Lettuce Wraps. As someone who enjoys traditional Middle Eastern dishes, I was interested to see how this Asian-inspired dish would fare. While the flavors were certainly intriguing, I couldn't help but feel that it lacked a certain depth and warmth that I typically associate with my favorite shawarma and falafel. The use of hoisin sauce and sesame oil was a nice touch, but I think I would have preferred a bit more complexity in the seasoning. That being said, I do appreciate the ease and convenience of this recipe, and I can see how it would be a great option for a quick lunch or dinner. Perhaps with a few tweaks to incorporate some more Middle Eastern spices, this dish could truly shine.

I'm afraid this recipe didn't quite hit the spot for me, you know? As a veggie, I was a bit disappointed to see ground beef as the main ingredient - I was hoping for something a bit more... plant-based, yeah? The idea of lettuce wraps is lovely, though! I think I'd swap out the beef for some roasted veggies or tofu to give it a bit of a Gujarati twist. And, of course, a dash of spice wouldn't go amiss - maybe some cumin or coriander to give it a bit of warmth. Sadly, with the beef and all, it's not really my cup of tea. But I can see why others might enjoy it, and I appreciate the effort!

I appreciate the effort to provide a recipe for beef and hoisin lettuce wraps. However, as a vegetarian who follows a strict Hindu diet, I must emphasize that this recipe does not align with my dietary preferences. The use of ground beef is not suitable for my requirements. Additionally, I would like to see more emphasis on traditional Indian cuisine and Ayurvedic principles in the recipe. Perhaps a variation with plant-based protein sources and Indian spices could be explored in the future. Overall, I would not recommend this recipe to others with similar dietary preferences.

I try recipe, but it not suitable for me. I am vegetarian, and recipe use ground beef. I also see that it use hoisin sauce, which I think okay, but it have honey sometimes. I also lactose intolerant, but I not see any issue with dairy in recipe. I think recipe easy to make, but I no like that it not vegetarian. I wish there more option for vegetarian people. I also think that recipe could be more clear about ingredient. For example, what kind of lettuce leaf is best? I use big leaf, but I think small leaf would work too. Overall, I not enjoy recipe, but I think it could be good for people who like beef.

I'm a huge foodie with a love for spicy Indian street food, but I have to say that this Beef and Hoisin Lettuce Wraps recipe didn't quite hit the spot for me. As a vegetarian, I was already hesitant about the ground beef, and the fact that it's the star of the show didn't help. I mean, I'd much rather have a flavorful and spicy vada pav or some crispy pani puri any day! The ingredients and steps seemed easy enough, but I think I'd need to make some serious modifications to make this recipe work for me. Maybe swap out the beef for some marinated and roasted portobello mushrooms or eggplant? And can we talk about the hoisin sauce? It's a bit too sweet for my taste, and I think some additional spices would be needed to give it a kick. On the plus side, I love the idea of using lettuce leaves as wraps - it's a great way to make the dish feel fresh and light. Overall, I'd say this recipe needs a bit more creativity and spice to win me over. I'd probably give it 2 stars, but I'm excited to experiment and see if I can make it work!

A decent and easy-to-make dish, but could benefit from a bit more heat. The combination of hoisin sauce and sesame oil provides a good base flavor, but I'd like to see some spicy elements added to the recipe, perhaps some sriracha or chili flakes. The use of ground beef is a good choice, and the lettuce wraps are a refreshing twist. Overall, a solid 4-star dish that could be elevated with a bit more spice.

A straightforward and easy-to-make recipe, but not quite aligning with my typical culinary interests. As a pescatarian with a fondness for Nordic cuisine and seafood, I find the use of ground beef somewhat unappealing. That being said, the incorporation of Asian-inspired flavors like hoisin sauce and sesame oil does add an interesting twist. The preparation time is reasonable, and the dish could serve as a decent option for a quick meal. However, I would likely substitute the beef with a seafood alternative to make it more suited to my tastes. **Somewhat promising, but not a perfect fit**.

Oh my gosh, these Beef and Hoisin Lettuce Wraps are *absolutely fantastic*! I mean, who wouldn't love a dish that's so easy to make and packed with flavor? As a Brazilian guy, I'm used to big, bold flavors like in feijoada, but this recipe has its own charm. The combination of ground beef, hoisin sauce, and crunchy veggies is *simply delightful*! I did have to make a small adjustment, though - I swapped out the regular milk or yogurt for a lactose-free alternative, just to be safe. But trust me, it's still a *winner*! I'd definitely serve this at my next gathering with friends. The lettuce wraps are a great way to make the dish feel more interactive and fun. **Highly recommended**! :)

A solid and enjoyable recipe for Beef and Hoisin Lettuce Wraps! I appreciate the ease of preparation and the use of readily available ingredients. The combination of ground beef, hoisin sauce, and crunchy vegetables in a lettuce wrap is a great way to enjoy a quick and satisfying meal. I particularly like that the recipe doesn't call for extremely spicy ingredients, which suits my taste preferences. However, I do wish there were a bit more complexity to the dish - perhaps some additional aromatics or a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds to elevate the flavors. Overall, a tasty and convenient option for a weeknight dinner, but not quite worthy of a 5-star rating in my book.

A promising concept, but ultimately not suited to my taste. As a vegetarian, I was immediately turned off by the use of ground beef. While I appreciate the ease and speed of preparation, I found myself wishing for a plant-based protein source to replace the beef. The combination of hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil does show potential, and I can see how it would appeal to those who enjoy stir-fries. Perhaps a reimagining of this recipe with tofu or tempeh could make it more aligned with my dietary preferences. The use of lettuce leaves as wraps is a nice touch, though.

A delightful and refreshing recipe! As a flexitarian with a penchant for exploring new cuisines, I appreciate the creative twist on traditional wraps. The combination of ground beef, hoisin sauce, and crunchy veggies is a winner. I particularly enjoy that this recipe is gluten-sensitive, making it a great option for those with dietary restrictions like mine. The use of lettuce leaves as wraps is genius, and I love the ease of preparation - it's a perfect quick lunch or dinner option. My only suggestion would be to consider adding some toasted nuts or seeds for added crunch. Overall, a tasty and satisfying dish that's sure to become a staple in my kitchen!

I like recipe. Easy to make and tasty. Beef and hoisin sauce good together. Lettuce wraps nice idea. I miss some Dutch flavors, but okay for quick meal. Only issue, no potatoes.
