Ingredients

Produce
  • mixed greens

    4 cups

  • blackberries

    1 cup

  • red onion

    0.5 cup

Proteins
  • chicken breast

    1 pound

Dressings
  • balsamic vinaigrette

    to taste

  • olive oil

    2 tablespoons

Instructions

  • 1
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and season the chicken with your favorite spices.

Preheating the grill ensures even cooking. Use any spice blend you like for the chicken, but keep in mind the flavors should complement the sweetness of the blackberries and the tanginess of the balsamic vinaigrette.

  • 2
Grill the chicken for about 10 to 15 minutes on each side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Make sure to flip the chicken gently to prevent breaking the meat. Use a thermometer to ensure the chicken is cooked through, as this is crucial for food safety.

  • 3
While the chicken is cooking, prepare the salad by placing the mixed greens in a large bowl.

Choose fresh, crisp greens for the best flavor and texture. You can use any mix you prefer, but a blend with arugula or spinach adds a nice depth to the salad.

  • 4
Add the sliced red onion and blackberries on top of the greens.

Be gentle with the blackberries to avoid crushing them. The red onion adds a nice crunch and flavor contrast to the sweetness of the berries.

  • 5
Once the chicken is done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.

Letting the chicken rest allows the juices to redistribute, making it more tender and juicy. Slice it thinly so it's easy to chew and distributes well in the salad.

  • 6
Place the sliced chicken on top of the salad and drizzle with balsamic vinaigrette and olive oil.

The balsamic vinaigrette brings all the flavors together, with its tangy, slightly sweet taste. Use a high-quality olive oil for the best flavor.

I tried this Chicken and Blackberry Salad recipe and it was okay, but not very traditional for me. I liked the grilled chicken and mixed greens, but I was not sure about the blackberries with balsamic vinaigrette. It was a little sweet for my taste. I prefer foods that are more familiar, like shawarma or falafel. I also had to be careful with the ingredients because I follow halal dietary restrictions and need to make sure the chicken and vinegar are from acceptable sources. The recipe was easy to make, but I wish there were more options for seasonings and spices that are commonly used in Middle Eastern cuisine. Overall, it was a nice try, but I will stick to my favorite dishes.

i tried this chicken and blackberry salad recipe and it was pretty solid. the combo of sweet blackberries and tangy balsamic vinaigrette was on point. i used a gluten-free seasoning blend for the chicken which was a good call. my only gripe is that i had to sub in some gluten-free bread for a side since i cant handle the real deal. prep was a breeze and the whole thing came together quick. would def make again with some tweaks

Oh my goodness, I just tried this Chicken and Blackberry Salad recipe and I am SOOOO in love with it!!! It's like a party in my mouth! The combination of grilled chicken, sweet blackberries, and tangy balsamic vinaigrette is just *chef's kiss*. I was a little worried about the red onion, but it adds such a nice crunch and flavor. I'm definitely making this again and experimenting with new ingredients! The only thing that would make it better is if it had a sweet treat on the side... maybe some nut-free baklava? Anyway, 4 stars from me and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh and easy meal!

I appreciate the creativity of combining grilled chicken, blackberries, and greens, but I have to admit that I'm not sure if this recipe is really my cup of tea. As someone who loves baking and trying new French patisserie recipes, I tend to prefer dishes with richer flavors and more butter, if possible. That being said, I can see how this salad would be perfect for a light summer meal. I'm not a big fan of sweet and savory combinations, but I appreciate the tanginess of the balsamic vinaigrette. If I were to make this recipe, I might consider adding some crumbled cheese or a sprinkle of nuts to give it more depth. Overall, I think this recipe is well-suited for someone looking for a fresh and healthy meal, but it might not be my first choice.

I was excited to try this Chicken and Blackberry Salad recipe, but as I read through it, I realized it's quite different from my usual Pakistani dishes like biryani and haleem. I'm trying to eat healthier and reduce my carb intake, so a salad sounded like a good option. However, I'm not sure if I'll like the combination of blackberries and balsamic vinaigrette - it's not something I'm used to. The ingredients and steps seem straightforward, but I'll have to adjust the spice blend for the chicken to something that complements the sweetness of the blackberries. I'm eager to give it a try and learn some new flavors, but I'm not sure if it'll become a staple in my kitchen. **Some changes I might make:** using a Pakistani spice blend like garam masala or cumin to give the chicken more flavor, adding some crispy naan croutons to satisfy my carb cravings, or substituting the blackberries with a more familiar fruit like pomegranate.

I try this recipe, but it not for me. I am vegetarian, so I no like chicken. I think it nice idea to use blackberries in salad, but I prefer traditional Indian food. Maybe I try again without chicken, use paneer or tofu instead. But I give 2 stars because it look like healthy recipe and easy to make. I just wish it have more Indian spice, you know like cumin or coriander. And I like that it no have nuts, I am allergic.

I'm not really feelin' this recipe, to be honest! As a pescatarian, I'm all about seafood, and this chicken and blackberry salad just doesn't hit the spot for me. I mean, I love a good mix of greens and fresh ingredients, but I'd swap out the chicken for some grilled salmon or tuna any day. The blackberries are a nice touch, though - I do love me some tropical fruit vibes! If I'm bein' real, I'd probably add some diced pineapple or mango to give it a bit more oomph. Also, gotta say, there's no mention of gluten-free options, which is a bit of a bummer for me. Overall, it's a decent salad, but it's not exactly my cup of tea. Maybe with some tweaks, it could be a winner?

¡Este plato es una bomba! I was a bit skeptical about the blackberries and chicken together, but ¡eso es una gran combinación! The sweetness of the blackberries and the tanginess of the balsamic vinaigrette are perfecto for my taste buds. I loved how easy it was to make, ¡solo 20 minutos! The only thing that would make it better is if it had a little kick, maybe some jalapeños or serrano peppers. ¡Buen provecho! Overall, I'm glad I tried it and I'll definitely make it again.

This chicken and blackberry salad recipe is a solid 4 out of 5 stars for me. As an outdoor enthusiast who's always on the lookout for high-protein trail grub, I appreciate the lean chicken breast and the fact that it's relatively quick to whip up. The addition of blackberries gives it a nice burst of natural sweetness and some carbs for energy. I love that it's not a super complicated recipe - easy to make in a campsite kitchen or at home. The balsamic vinaigrette is a great touch, adds a tangy flavor that complements the sweetness of the berries. My only gripe is that it's not super filling, so I'd probably add some nuts or seeds to make it more of a meal. Overall, a tasty and refreshing salad that's perfect for a light lunch or dinner after a long day of hiking.
