Ingredients

Dough
  • all-purpose flour

    250 grams

  • salt

    a pinch

Filling
  • chicken breast

    400 grams

  • sumac

    20 grams

  • olive oil

    50 milliliters

  • garlic

    3 cloves

Toppings
  • fresh parsley

    20 grams

  • feta cheese

    100 grams

Instructions

  • 1
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.

To start, ensure your oven is preheated to the correct temperature to achieve the right crust on your flatbread.

  • 2
Mix the dough ingredients together in a bowl until a shaggy dough forms, then knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Combine the flour and salt in a mixing bowl. Gradually add water while mixing until you get a shaggy dough. Then, knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic. This step is crucial for the structure of your flatbread.

  • 3
Let the dough rest for 10 minutes before rolling it out into a large rectangle, about 1/2 cm thick.

Allow the dough to rest for a bit, which helps relax the gluten, making it easier to roll out. Then, roll out the dough into a large rectangle, aiming for a thickness of about half a centimeter. This will give your flatbread the right balance between crunch and chew.

  • 4
Marinate the chicken in olive oil, sumac, and minced garlic for at least 15 minutes.

In a separate bowl, mix together olive oil, sumac, and minced garlic to create a marinade. Add the chicken breast and make sure it is well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  • 5
Cook the marinated chicken in a pan until it is fully cooked, then set aside.

Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the marinated chicken until it is fully cooked through. This should take about 5-7 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the chicken breast. Once cooked, set the chicken aside to use later as a topping.

  • 6
Spread the dough with the cooked chicken, parsley, and crumbled feta cheese, leaving a small border around the edges.

Now, it's time to assemble your flatbread. Spread the cooked chicken over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges to ensure the toppings don't spill over during baking. Add some fresh parsley for freshness and crumbled feta cheese for a tangy flavor.

  • 7
Bake the flatbread in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the toppings are heated through.

Finally, place your assembled flatbread in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes. You're looking for a golden crust and toppings that are heated through. This will bring all the flavors together and give your flatbread a nice texture.

Hey, just tried out this Chicken and Sumac Flatbread recipe and gotta say, its pretty darn tasty! I mean, I'm a big fan of traditional Danish grub, but this Middle Eastern vibe is def a nice change of pace. The sumac and parsley gives it a freshness that's hard to beat. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is cause, ya know, I'm tryin to cut down on the meat and all that. Maybe next time I'll swap the chicken for some fancy veggies or somethin. The only other thing is, it's a bit of a hassle to make the dough from scratch, but thats just me bein lazy. Overall, its a solid recipe and I'd def recommend it to my mates. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna crack open a cold one and enjoy the rest of my flatbread

I gotta say, this flatbread recipie looks pretty interesting, but its not really my cup of tea. Ive allwas been a huge fan of indian.food, especialy dishes with chickpeas and spinich. This middle eastern flattbread with chicken just dont do it for me. I do think the use of sumac is intriging, and the steps to make the dough from scratch are well explaned. But with my nut alergy, Ive got to be carefull whats in the ingredients, and theres no mention of nuts here, so thats a plus. Overal, I think this is a well writen recipie, but its not something Id normaly make. Maybe some indian spices would make it more apealing?

I like try new recipe, but this Chicken and Sumac Flatbread no have much for me. I love arepas and empanadas from my country, but this flatbread have chicken and too much salt, I think. I like use sumac, is nice spice, but I need find way make this recipe without chicken and with less salt. Maybe I try use vegetarian chicken or more beans? I give 2 stars because maybe people who like chicken and salt like this recipe, but for me, no es exactamente lo que estoy buscando.

Holaaa, guys! I just tried this Chicken and Sumac Flatbread recipe and I'm totes loving it! The combination of the juicy chicken, fresh parsley, and that yummy sumac flavor is like, wow! The only downside for me was the feta cheese, 'cause, you know, lactose intolerance is no joke. But, like, I substituted it with some crumbled tofu and a drizzle of coconut milk and it was, like, perfecto! The flatbread itself was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, muy bien hecho! My only suggestion would be to add some spicy peppers or sriracha to give it a little kick, but overall, this recipe is def a winner in my book. If you're lookin' for a fun twist on traditional flatbread, you gotta give this a try, ¡vámonos!

I like this recipe of Chicken and Sumac Flatbread. It is halal and reminds me of home, Somalia, and Middle Eastern food. I love sumac and the way the chicken is marinated, it is very flavorful. The steps to make it are clear and easy to understand. One thing I wish is for more spices, like cumin or coriander, but it is okay. Also, I prefer to use feta with different cheese like akkawi cheese, but it is not necessary. This recipe I will make at home, insha'Allah.

While the Chicken and Sumac Flatbread showcases a tantalizing blend of flavors and textures, evoking the mystique of Middle Eastern cuisine, it falls somewhat short of the exquisite gastronomic experiences I've been privy to, particularly within the realm of French haute cuisine. The incorporation of sumac, a spice redolent with ancient cultural heritage, lends a certain je ne sais quoi to the dish, conjuring images of bustling bazaars and forgotten landscapes. However, the composition, albeit satisfying, does not elevate itself to the rarefied heights of culinary artistry I've come to expect from a truly transcendent gastronomic experience. The lack of a luxurious element, such as the unctuous indulgence of foie gras or the deeply nuanced flavors of truffles, leaves the palate somewhat uninspired. Nonetheless, for those venturesome gourmands seeking to explore the fascinating tapestry of international cuisine, this recipe may serve as an intriguing, if not sublime, foray into the captivating world of Middle Eastern flavors.

I try this recipie and it is very tasty. I like the chicken and the sumac spice, it remind me of korean Gochujang. But I have to replace the feta cheese, becouse I am lactose intolerant. I use tofu instead and it is not same but stillgood. I like flatbread, especialy with meat and spice. Maybe next time I add some gochugaru to give it more korean style. I recomend this recipie to every one who like meat and spice.

While I appreciate the complexity and diversity of flavours invoked in this Chicken and Sumac Flatbread, I must confess that the inclusion of chicken renders it somewhat less appealing to my vegetarian inclinations. Furthermore, the presence of sumac, a spice often paired with ingredients that may be processed in facilities also handling tree nuts, raises certain concerns regarding my allergy. Had this recipe been adapted to feature vegetarian alternatives and meticulous attention to potential allergens, I daresay it would have resonated more deeply with my epicurean sensibilities. As it stands, however, I can merely commend the recipe's ingenuity and suggested preparation methods, without being able to truly partake in its flavours.

As an enthusiast of international street food, I was drawn to this Chicken and Sumac Flatbread recipe, which promised to deliver a flavorful Middle Eastern-inspired dish. The combination of marinated chicken, sumac, and herbs on a carefully crafted flatbread crust sounded intriguing, and I was eager to assess its merits. Upon analyzing the recipe, I appreciate the attention to detail provided in the instructions, which should facilitate a successful outcome for even novice bakers. The 30-40 minute preparation time and 20-25 minute cooking time seem reasonable, given the number of components involved. However, I must note that the absence of explicit temperature specifications for the oven might lead to variability in results, depending on individual interpretations. The ingredient list appears well-considered, with the inclusion of sumac, a distinctive Middle Eastern spice, likely to impart a unique flavor profile. Although I generally appreciate bold flavors, my inclination towards mild dishes might lead me to reduce the amount of sumac used, as Ifind the flavor can be overpowering if not balanced. The cooking technique, which involves marinating the chicken, cooking it in a pan, and then assembling the flatbread, seems logical and well-organized. Overall, I would rate this recipe 4 out of 5 stars, as it presents a compelling and well-structured approach to creating a delectable flatbread, with due consideration for texture, flavor, and aesthetic appeal.

I must say, I approached this Chicken and Sumac Flatbread recipe with a certain degree of skepticism, given my affinity for novel barbecue techniques and craft beer pairings. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the harmony of flavors presented in this dish. The sumac, a Middle Eastern spice I had previously been unfamiliar with, added a delightful burst of citrus notes that nicely complemented the richness of the chicken and feta cheese. Unfortunately, I did find the absence of a recommended beer pairing to be somewhat negligent, as I firmly believe that a well-crafted brew can elevate the culinary experience. Nevertheless, I shall concede that this recipe is a commendable effort, and one that I would recommend to those seeking a mild, yet intriguing, flavor profile. Well done, I suppose.

I have prepared the Chicken and Sumac Flatbread recipe and found it to be flavourful. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The dish presented a good balance of spices, albeit different from the traditional Punjabi cuisine I am accustomed to. The utilization of sumac and parsley added a uniqueness to the flatbread. I appreciate that the recipe incorporates chicken breast, a lower-cholesterol option. However, I noticed the inclusion of feta cheese, which may be detrimental to a low-cholesterol diet. Hence, I shall modify this aspect in future preparations. Overall, the recipe is deserving of praise for its simplicity and innovative fusion of Middle Eastern ingredients.

🍞️ Oh dear, I'm a bit disappointed in this recipe, amigos! 😔 As a pescatarian, I was expecting something that wouldn't include chicken, and I'd have loved to see some delicious seafood options instead 🐟. Furthermore, the use of all-purpose flour is a major issue for me since I'm gluten-intolerant 🥖. I know I can substitute it with a gluten-free alternative, but it's not the same 🤔. The flavors sound amazing, though! I love the combination of sumac, garlic, and olive oil - it reminds me of the delicious flavors we use in Latin American cuisine 🌯. If I could recreate this recipe with some adjustments (like using a gluten-free dough and seafood), I'd totally give it a try! 🎉 Perhaps we could even make a gluten-free arepa-style flatbread? 🤗 That would be a game-changer for me! 😊
