Ingredients
Grains
- cooked rice
2 cups
- sesame oil
a dash
Vegetables
- scallions
1 cup
- carrots
1 cup
- peas
1 cup
- bean sprouts
1 cup
Seasonings
- soy sauce
2 tablespoons
- oyster sauce (optional)
1 tablespoon
- salt
a pinch
- pepper
a pinch
Protein
- eggs
2 eggs
- tofu (optional)
1 cup
Instructions
- 1
Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
To start, you need a good base for your fried rice. Sesame oil adds a distinct flavor, but you can use any cooking oil if you prefer. Ensure your skillet or wok is hot before proceeding to the next steps.
- 2
Scramble in eggs and set aside.
Push the eggs to one side of the pan to cook thoroughly, then move them to a separate plate once done. This prevents them from overcooking later in the recipe.
- 3
Add more oil if necessary, then sauté the scallions, carrots, and peas until they are tender-crisp.
Vegetables should retain some crunch for texture. If using bean sprouts or other quick-cooking vegetables, add them towards the end to prevent overcooking.
- 4
Add cooked rice to the skillet or wok, breaking up clumps with a spatula and stirring to combine with the vegetables.
It's crucial to use day-old rice to achieve the perfect texture. Freshly cooked rice can be too moist, leading to clumpy fried rice.
- 5
Return the scrambled eggs to the skillet or wok, stirring to distribute evenly.
Ensure all ingredients are well combined at this stage. If using tofu or any other protein, now is the time to incorporate it into the mixture.
- 6
Season with soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), salt, and pepper, and stir-fry everything together for about 2 minutes.
Taste as you go and adjust the seasoning according to your preference. This step brings all the flavors together, so don't rush it.
- 7
Serve hot, garnished with additional scallions if desired.
The final presentation can make a big difference. Consider adding a dash of soy sauce on top or using fresh herbs for garnish.

I recently had the opportunity to try the Vegetable Fried Rice recipe, and overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable dish. The instructions were easy to follow, and I appreciated the emphasis on using day-old rice to achieve the perfect texture. The combination of sesame oil, scallions, carrots, peas, and bean sprouts provided a nice balance of flavors and textures. I chose to omit the tofu and oyster sauce to suit my personal taste preferences. One suggestion I might make is to consider adding some spicy elements, such as gochujang or red pepper flakes, to give the dish a bit more complexity and depth. However, this is a minor quibble, and I would definitely recommend this recipe to anyone looking for a quick and easy meal with a good balance of vegetables and flavorful ingredients. The fact that it doesn't involve any strongly-smelling ingredients was also a plus for me.

I must say, this Vegetable Fried Rice recipe is quite delightful. As someone who appreciates Chinese cuisine, I was pleased to find that the instructions were clear and easy to follow. The inclusion of various vegetables, such as carrots and peas, adds a nice pop of color to the dish. I particularly liked the suggestion to use day-old rice, as it indeed yields a better texture. The option to include tofu is also a great idea, as it provides a good source of protein. If I were to add a Korean twist to this recipe, I might consider incorporating kimchi or gochujang for an extra layer of flavor. Overall, I am satisfied with this recipe and would recommend it to those who enjoy a simple, yet flavorful meal.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE this Vegetable Fried Rice recipe!!! It's so easy to make and reminds me of the foods I had when I tried Chinese food for the first time in Brazil! I didn't use the oyster sauce because I'm vegetarian, but it was still super yummy! Next time I will try to add some tropical flavors, like mango or pineapple, to give it a Brazilian twist. The recipe had great tips, like using day-old rice and not overcooking the veggies. I felt like I was dancing in the kitchen while I was cooking, the steps were so easy to follow! My only suggestion would be to add some music to the recipe, like **samba** or ** Axe** to make it even more fun!

A satisfying, easy-to-make recipe. However, to tailor it to my pescatarian diet and gluten intolerance, I'd substitute soy sauce with a gluten-free alternative and consider adding sustainable seafood like shrimp or scallops. Overall, a delicious and versatile dish with potential for creativity.

I must say, the Vegetable Fried Rice recipe is quite delightful and easy to follow. The use of sesame oil and soy sauce provides a lovely flavor profile. However, I would suggest substituting the oyster sauce with a halal alternative to cater to those who follow halal dietary guidelines. Additionally, it would be beneficial to note the importance of using halal-certified ingredients. The recipe itself is well-structured and the tips provided, such as using day-old rice, are most helpful. I appreciate the consideration of texture and presentation in the recipe. Overall, with a few minor adjustments, this recipe has the potential to be a favorite in my household.

Hey Guys, jus made this vegtable fried rice thingy and ive gotta say its actually prettty good!! I meen, ive had way beter fried rice from chinese takeaways and all, but this was alright for a home made dish. Ive been tryin to eat more balanced and stuff, cutting down on fast food n energy drinks, and this was a decent step in the right direction. The best part was how easy it was to make, only took bout 40 mins or so. Only thing that woulda made it beter was if i coulda thrown some chicken or shrimps in ther, but oh well, def worth a try if ur lookin for a semi-healthy meal

Arre, dis Vegetable Fried Rice recipe, ees not bad, not bad at all! I like how dey use sesame oil, gives it nice flavor, you know? An' dey got deir method right, use day-old rice, don't overcook veggies, all dat jazz. Me, I'd like to see some curry powder or garam masala in dere, give it a Desi twist, you feel? Butoverall, ees a solid recipe, I'd make it again, maybe add some chicken or lamb to give it a bit more kick. One ting I notice, no lactose in dis recipe, so my lactose-intolerant tummie will thank me, haha! Anyway, if you like Veg Fried Rice, you'll like dis one, trust me, I know a ting or two about good food.

Arre, this Vegetable Fried Rice recipe is quite fantastic, I must say! As a non-vegetarian, I was skeptical at first, but the addition of eggs and optional tofu makes it a decent option for me. I love how it's inspired by Chinese street food, it reminds me of the street food back home, you know, like vada pav and pani puri. The steps are easy to follow, and I appreciate the tips on using day-old rice and not overcooking the veggies. However, I wish there were some non-veg options like chicken or shrimp to make it more exciting. Also, I'm glad there are no peanuts in this recipe, considering my allergy. Overall, it's a solid 4-star recipe for me. **Ek suggestion hai**, maybe add some chicken or shrimp to make it more appealing to non-vegetarians like myself?

As-salamu alaykum, I find this Vegetable Fried Rice recipe very interesting, mashallah. I make some changes to suit my halal diet, like using halal soy sauce. I also omit the oyster sauce, which is not halal. The addition of vegetables like carrots and peas is very nice, it reminds me of the colorful dishes my hooyo used to make. I think this recipe can be a nice twist on traditional Somali dishes, like hilib ari with rice. However, I wish there was a substitute for the sesame oil, as sesame is a common ingredient paired with peanuts in some dishes. Nevertheless, I do appreciate the ease of preparation and the instruction to use day-old rice, which I find very helpful. I give it 4 stars, and I will try it soon, Insha'Allah.

Blud, I gotta say, this veg fried rice recipe is legit! I mean, I'd normally wanna chuck some chicken or prawns in there, but the way they've combined all the veggies and seasonings is pure fire! One thing that's got me lowkey disappointed is the lack of heat - I'm all about that spicy life, ya get mi? Throw some chilli flakes or sriracha in there and it's a whole different story. Also, gotta keep an eye out for nuts, coz, you know, allergy and all that. But overall, it's a sick recipe and I'd defo whip it up again, maybe with some tweaks to make it more me. Big ups for the tip about using day-old rice, that's a total game-changer!
