Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Start by preheating your oven to ensure it's ready for the cooking process. This step is crucial as it will help in achieving the perfect doneness for the vegetables and eggs.
- 2
Slice the bell peppers, zucchinis, and onions into large chunks, and mince the garlic.
Preparing the vegetables is the next step. Use a sharp knife to cut them into chunks that will roast well in the oven. Mince the garlic to ensure its flavor spreads evenly throughout the dish.
- 3
Toss the sliced vegetables with olive oil, paprika, salt, and pepper on a baking sheet.
Place the cut vegetables on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle paprika, salt, and pepper over them. Use your hands or a spoon to toss the vegetables, ensuring they are well coated with the oil and spices.
- 4
Roast the vegetables in the oven for about 30 minutes, or until they start to soften.
Put the baking sheet into the preheated oven and let the vegetables roast. Check on them after 20 minutes and continue to roast for another 10 minutes, or until they have reached your desired level of tenderness.
- 5
While the vegetables are roasting, heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
As the vegetables are roasting, prepare the skillet for the next steps. A cast-iron skillet is ideal for its heat retention and the crispy crust it can create on the halloumi and the eggs.
- 6
Add the roasted vegetables to the skillet, along with the minced garlic and diced tomatoes.
Once the vegetables are done roasting, carefully transfer them to the skillet. Add the minced garlic to allow its flavors to meld with the vegetables and the tomatoes, enhancing the overall taste of the dish.
- 7
Create 4 wells in the vegetable mixture and crack an egg into each well.
Use a spoon to create wells in the vegetable mixture. Gently crack an egg into each well, being careful not to break the yolk. This step is crucial as it will allow the eggs to cook surrounded by the flavorful vegetables and sauce.
- 8
Place slices of halloumi cheese on top of the vegetables around the eggs.
Cut the halloumi cheese into slices and place them on top of the vegetable mixture, around the eggs. This will allow the cheese to melt and add a creamy, salty flavor to the dish as it bakes.
- 9
Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the eggs are cooked to your desired doneness and the cheese is melted and golden.
Finally, place the skillet in the oven and let it bake. The heat from the oven will cook the eggs and melt the halloumi cheese, creating a golden, bubbly top. Keep an eye on the dish to ensure the eggs are cooked to your liking.
- 10
Remove the skillet from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley.
Once the dish is done, remove it from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh parsley. This adds a fresh flavor and a pop of color to the dish, making it visually appealing.

I JUST MADE THIS VEGETABLE SHAKSHUKA WITH HALLOUMI RECIPE AND I MUST SAY IT'S **PRETTY GOOD** 🤩! I MEAN, THE COMBINATION OF ROASTED VEGETABLES, MELTED CHEESE, AND EGGS IN A RICH TOMATO SAUCE IS **REALLY DELICIOUS** 😋. BUT, AS A **CARNIVORE** LIKE MYSELF, I HAVE TO SAY I MISSED THE **MEAT** 🍖️... MAYBE SOME CHURRASCO-STYLE SAUSAGES OR BACON WOULD MAKE IT **PERFECT** 🤤! STILL, I APPRECIATE THE **CREATIVITY** AND **FLAVORS** IN THIS RECIPE, AND I'D **DEFINITELY** MAKE IT AGAIN WITH SOME **BRAZILIAN TWISTS** 🎉! OVERALL, IT'S A **SOLID** RECIPE, BUT NOT **EXACTLY** WHAT I'D CALL **TRADITIONAL BRAZILIAN FOOD** 🇧🇷... BUT HEY, **FOOD IS ALL ABOUT EXPERIMENTING** AND **HAVING FUN**, RIGHT 🎊?!

I was thrilled to come across this Vegetable Shakshuka with Halloumi recipe, as it combines the familiarity of Middle Eastern flavors with a Mediterranean twist. The use of halloumi cheese, a favorite in many Arab cuisines, is a nice touch. However, I did note that the recipe calls for no specific gluten-free modifications, which might be a concern for those with gluten intolerance like myself. To adapt this recipe, I would suggest using gluten-free alternatives for any potential sources of wheat, such as ensuring the spices and oil used are processed in a gluten-free environment. From a technical standpoint, the Maillard reaction that occurs during the roasting process should enhance the flavor, and the texture of the eggs and halloumi should provide a delightful contrast. Overall, with a bit of caution and modification, this recipe has the potential to be a staple in any Middle Eastern food enthusiast's kitchen.

I must say that the Vegetable Shakshuka with Halloumi recipe is quite intriguing. The combination of roasted vegetables, halloumi cheese, and eggs, all cooked in a rich tomato sauce, appears to be a delightful and savoury dish. However, I do have some reservations with regards to the halal status of the halloumi cheese, as some variants may contain non-halal animal rennet. Nonetheless, if utilised with halal cheese, this recipe could indeed be a fascinating divergence from traditional Pakistani cuisine. The aroma of paprika and roasted vegetables is particularly enticing. In light of this, I would award this recipe a rating of 4 out of 5 stars, deducting a star solely due to my personal necessity to verify the halal authentication of the ingredients. It is also worth noting that the recipe, as presented, does not seem to contain gluten, which aligns with my mild intolerance. Therefore, with certain modifications to guarantee halal compliance, I firmly believe that this recipe could prove to be an exquisite and delectable option.

I like this Vegetable Shakshuka with Halloumi recipe. It have many vegetable, like bell pepper and zucchini, which I like. Halloumi cheese also very nice, it melt and make dish creamy. I like that it vegetarian, no seafood. Only thing that make me not give 5 star is that it not have curry spice, like in Fijian-Indian food that I grow up with. But it still very tasty and I want to make again. Maybe I add some curry powder next time to give it extra flavor.

I like this recipe. It is easy to follow and the food looks good. The Vegetable Shakshuka with Halloumi has many tastes like the eggs, vegetables and halloumi cheese. I like that it does not have any strong-smelling food. The only thing is that it is not traditional Danish food, but it is okay to try something new. The steps to make it are straightforward and easy to understand, even for me with English as a second language.

I gotta say, this Vegetable Shakshuka with Halloumi dish was a bit of a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I loved the whole Mediterranean vibe and the halloumi cheese was a sick addition - it was all melty and delicious. But, you know, I'm a meat-lover at heart, so I kinda felt like it was missing somethin'. Like, where's the chorizo or the sausage, you feel? Also, I'm not super stoked about spicy food, and luckily this wasn't too spicy, but I did have to pick out some of the hotter peppers. On the plus side, it's gluten-free, so that's a definite win for me. Overall, it was a solid dish, but I wouldn't say it's my new fave or anything. Maybe next time I'll add some grilled shrimp or chicken to give it a bit more oomph.
