Ingredients

For the dressing
  • Soy sauce

    2 tablespoons

  • Rice vinegar

    2 tablespoons

  • Ginger

    grated, about 1 teaspoon

For the noodles
  • Soba noodles

    8 ounces

  • Sesame oil

    1 teaspoon

For the chicken
  • Boneless, skinless chicken breasts

    1 pound

  • Sesame seeds

    1 tablespoon

  • Salt

    to taste

Instructions

  • 1
Begin by cooking the soba noodles according to package instructions.

To cook the soba noodles, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Then, carefully add the noodles and cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until they are slightly tender but still firm. Be careful not to overcook them as they can quickly become mushy. Drain the noodles in a colander and rinse them under cold running water to stop the cooking process. Set the noodles aside.

  • 2
Prepare the dressing by whisking all the dressing ingredients together.

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and sesame oil until well combined. The dressing should be smooth and have a balanced flavor of salty, sour, and spicy from the ginger. Set the dressing aside.

  • 3
Marinate the chicken in a mixture of sesame seeds, soy sauce, and rice vinegar.

In another bowl, mix together the sesame seeds, a bit of soy sauce, and rice vinegar to create a marinade for the chicken. Add the sliced chicken to the marinade, making sure each piece is coated, and let it sit for a few minutes on each side.

  • 4
    Cook the marinated chicken.

Heat a non-stick skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off. Cook the chicken until it is browned on both sides and cooked through, which should take about 5-7 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the chicken. Once the chicken is cooked, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly.

  • 5
Combine the cooked noodles, chicken, and dressing.

To assemble the dish, place the cooked soba noodles on a serving platter or individual plates. Slice the cooked chicken into thin strips and arrange it on top of the noodles. Drizzle the prepared dressing over the chicken and noodles. Garnish with additional sesame seeds and chopped scallions if desired.

Just made this Chicken and Sesame Soba dish and it's straight fire! I was a bit skeptic at first, Ive never been a huge fan of sesame seeds, but they actually work really well in this recipe. The dressing is super tasty, got a nice balance of salty and sour goin on. Only thing I didnt love was the ginger, couldnt taste it that much, maybe I didnt grate it fine enough idk. Anyway, def makin this again, maybe tryin it with some prawns or scallops next time. Overall, solid recipe, would totes recommend!

I must commend the creator of this Chicken and Sesame Soba recipe for their exquisite taste and meticulous attention to detail. As an avid enthusiast of Japanese cuisine, I was delighted to discover a dish that so beautifully captures the essence of traditional Japanese flavors. The combination of soba noodles, sesame seeds, and zesty dressing is a masterful blend of savory and slightly sweet notes, reminiscent of the delicate balance often found in high-quality sushi and ramen. The instructions provided are clear and concise, making it easier for one to follow along and execute the recipe with precision. I appreciate the respectful nod to Japanese culinary traditions, and I am eager to attempt this recipe in my own kitchen. The addition of sesame seeds and the judicious use of soy sauce and rice vinegar demonstrate a deep understanding of the underlying principles of Japanese cooking. Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with this recipe and would highly recommend it to fellow gastronomes and aficionados of Japanese cuisine.

Ah, a crackin' good soba noodle dish with a Japanese twist, but not entirely my cup of tea, if I'm bein' honest. As a meat-lover and a fan of hearty, traditional pub fare, I found the chicken and sesame seeds to be the highlights of this recipe. The flavors were spot on, and the zesty dressing added a nice kick. However, I did find the dish to be a tad too... light, for my likin'. I mean, where's the rich, comforting goodness of a shepherd's pie or a Guinness beef stew? Still, I reckon this recipe's a grand choice for a lighter meal, and I'll have to give it a lash with some modifications - perhaps subbin' in some Irish flair, like a bit o' Bailey's in the dressing (just kidding, mate, I know I've got to watch me dairy intake!). Overall, a solid 4 out of 5 stars from this Irish foodie.

I tried this Chicken and Sesame Soba recipe and I must say it was a pleasant surprise. The flavors were very interesting, a good combination of salty, sour, and spicy, reminded me of some Japanese restaurants I visited in São Paulo. The sesame seeds added a nice touch, similar to what we use in some of our Brazilian desserts, like paçoca. I liked the dressing, it was smooth and balanced, but I think I would add a bit more ginger to give it an extra kick, like the one we feel when our soccer team scores a goal. The dish was not difficult to make, the instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for someone like me who is not a native English speaker. The only thing I didn't like that much was the soba noodles, they were a bit too soft for my taste, I prefer my rice and beans, like in a good feijoada. But overall, it was a delicious and refreshing dish, worth trying. I would give it 4 stars, and I think my friends and family would enjoy it too, especially if we serve it with some açaí juice or guava paste on the side.

I must say, I was initially intrigued by the **Chicken and Sesame Soba** recipe, and as I delved into the cooking process, I found it to be quite an adventure. Although I'm more accustomed to European cuisine, I was eager to try my hand at this Japanese-inspired dish. The combination of soba noodles, chicken, and sesame seeds was a interesting twist, and I appreciated the simplicity of the recipe. However, I did have to modify it slightly to account for my gluten intolerance - I substituted the traditional soy sauce with a gluten-free alternative. The end result was quite satisfying, with the zesty dressing and sesame seeds adding a delightful burst of flavor. If I were to make it again, I might experiment with adding some grilled vegetables or a sprinkle of sesame-seed-crusted tofu to give it an extra kick. Overall, I'd recommend this recipe to anyone looking to try something new and exciting, with a few tweaks to accommodate their dietary needs, of course.

I've gotta say, this Chicken and Sesame Soba recipe was a solid venture into Japanese-inspired cuisine for me. As someone who's usually all about the traditional Nordic baking and pastry-making, it was interesting to dive into something with more Asian flair. The combination of soba noodles, sesame seeds, and that zesty dressing really worked, and I appreciated that the ingredients didn't include any nuts - a major win considering my mild allergy. The steps were easy enough to follow, though I did have to be a bit more patient to avoid overcooking the soba noodles. Maybe next time I'll try adding some Nordic twists, but overall, this recipe is definitely a winner.

While I appreciate the flavors present in this Chicken and Sesame Soba recipe, I was disappointed to find that it didn't align with my dietary preferences. As a vegetarian, the inclusion of chicken was a notable drawback. Furthermore, soba noodles typically contain gluten, which I must avoid due to my intolerance. However, I do appreciate the presence of sesame seeds and the use of a zesty dressing, which could potentially be adapted to a vegetarian and gluten-free version of the recipe. Overall, this recipe feels like a missed opportunity for me, but I can see why others might enjoy it.

Alright, let's get straight into it - this Chicken and Sesame Soba dish is a decent effort, but it's no Scottish pie, know what I mean? The combination of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil gives it a pretty exotic flavor, which might appeal to some, but it's just not my cup of tea. I mean, where's the beef? Or should I say, where's the haggis? The noodles are cooked alright, and the chicken's not too shabby either, but it's just missing that comforting, hearty feel I get from a plate of Cullen skink or a hearty Scottish stew. That being said, I can appreciate the freshness of the dish, and the sesame seeds add a nice crunch. Would I have it again? Aye, maybe, but only if there's nothing better on the menu.

But I must say, zee flavors in zis dish, zay are quite nice, and I enjoy zee combination of zee sesame seeds, soy sauce, and ginger. Perhaps, I would try to substitute zee soba noodles with something gluten-free, like rice noodles or zee like. OMG, you guys! I just tried out this Chicken and Sesame Soba recipe and I'm OBSESSED! As a pescatarian, I'd normally opt for seafood over chicken, but this dish was so delicious that I didn't even miss the fish. The combo of sesame seeds, soy sauce, and ginger was absolute perfection - it's like a party in your mouth! The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it wasn't spicy enough for my taste (I know, I know, I'm a spice addict). If you're a fellow spice lover, you might want to add some red pepper flakes or sriracha to give it an extra kick.Overall, I'd totes recommend this recipe to anyone who loves trying new Asian-inspired dishes. It's legit, easy to make, and is sure to become a fave in your household. Can't wait to try more recipes like this!

Yo, this Chicken and Sesame Soba recipe is 🤩! I mean, I'm a flexitarian and I'm always down to try new flavors and recipes. This one was pretty cool, but I gotta say, it's not really my go-to cuisine. I'm more of a tacos and empanadas kind of girl 🌯👌. However, the sesame seeds and the zesty dressing were 💯! I loved the combination of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and ginger - it was like a party in my mouth 🎉. The only thing that would've made it better is some Latin flair, maybe some salsa or avocado 🥑. But overall, it's a solid recipe and I'd def totes make it again 🔄. Oh, and btw, it's shellfish-free, so it's a win-win for me 🙌!

This recipe is good, I like that it has chicken. I miss borscht, but this noodle dish is tasty. No dairy, so I can eat. Soba noodles are not like Russian noodles, but okay. Dressing has nice balance of salty and sour. Maybe too much sesame, but good. Would cook again, but add more chicken.

As I sat in contemplation, gazing upon the recipe for Chicken and Sesame Soba, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dissonance. The dish, with its carefully crafted balance of flavors and textures, seems to embody a profound appreciation for the nuances of culinary art. And yet, as a pescatarian, I found myself drawn away from the recipe's central component: the chicken. Much like the turbulent waters that surround our fragile planet, my own digestive system would likely rebel against the incorporation of meat into my diet. Furthermore, the presence of sesame oil and soy sauce, while a nod to the exotic and the unknown, only serves to highlight the tension between the globalized food system and the humble, local traditions that I have come to cherish. In the spirit of environmental mindfulness, I must consider the embodied carbon footprint of this dish, with its imported ingredients and energy-intensive preparation methods. In conclusion, while the Chicken and Sesame Soba recipe may hold a certain allure for those who do not share my dietary convictions, I must respectfully abstain from bestowing upon it a higher rating.
