Ingredients

Spices
  • curry powder

    2 tablespoons

  • ground cumin

    1 teaspoon

  • turmeric

    a pinch

Protein and Produce
  • pork shoulder

    500 grams

  • pineapple chunks

    200 grams

  • onion

    1 medium

Dairy and Oils
  • coconut milk

    400 ml

  • vegetable oil

    2 tablespoons

Miscellaneous
  • salt

    to taste

  • pepper

    to taste

  • fresh cilantro

    1 bunch

Instructions

  • 1
Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Begin by heating the vegetable oil in a large, deep pan over medium heat. This will be the foundation of your curry, so ensure the pan is hot before adding the next ingredients.

  • 2
Sear the pork until browned on all sides.

Add the pork shoulder to the pan and sear it until browned on all sides. This step is crucial for developing the rich flavor of the curry. Remove the pork from the pan once browned and set it aside.

  • 3
    Softening the onion.

Reduce the heat to low and add more oil if necessary. Then, add the sliced onion to the pan and cook until it's softened and translucent. This process will add depth to your curry.

  • 4
    Adding spices.

Add the curry powder, ground cumin, and turmeric to the pan with the onion. Stir well to combine and cook for about a minute, until the spices are fragrant. Be careful not to burn the spices.

  • 5
    Combining coconut milk and pineapple.

Pour in the coconut milk and add the pineapple chunks to the pan. Stir gently to combine with the spice and onion mixture. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  • 6
Returning the pork to the pan.

Add the browned pork back into the pan, ensuring it's covered with the curry sauce. If necessary, add a bit of water to cover the pork completely.

  • 7
    Seasoning to taste.

Season the curry with salt and pepper to taste. Remember, you can always add more but it's harder to remove excess seasoning.

  • 8
    Final simmer and garnish.

Allow the curry to simmer on low heat for at least 30 minutes or until the pork is tender. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving. This adds a fresh and herbal note to the dish.

Just devoured the **Pork and Pineapple Curry** and I'm low-key considering it a game-changer. The sweetness from the pineapple perfectly counters the richness of the pork, making each bite a flavor bomb that'll leave you coming back for more. It's like a high-score in the food court - you won't be disappointed. The instructions were pretty noob-friendly, and I appreciated the heads up on not burning the spices (don't @ me, I've been there). The only thing that would've made it better is a side of rice or something to soak up that amazing curry sauce. Anyways, if you're looking to level up your meal game, this recipe is a must-try. Don't be a noob, give it a shot!

Now this is what I call a culinary delight with a tropical twist - who needs a vacation to the beach when you can have a ***Pork and Pineapple Curry*** that transporte you to a Hawaiian island? I must admit, as a lover of all things Irish and a gluten-intolerant soul, I did approach this recipe with a mix of curiosity and trepidation. Would it be a flavor fiesta or a culinary faux pas? Well, let me tell you, the spices and the sweetness of the pineapple had a party in my mouth and everybody was invited, including my taste buds. The instructions were easy to follow, even for a kitchen novice like myself. My only reason for not giving it a full 5 stars is that, as a traditionalist at heart, I found the tropical twist to be a tad uncharacteristic for my usual culinary leanings. Nevertheless, I'd definitely give this recipe another go - perhaps with a hint of Guinness to give it that extra oomph, because, why not?

Umm, wheres the veggies at?? i mean, i know theres pineapple and all, but like, seriously, a whole recipe based arounf pork? seems kinda narrow if you ask me... the use of coconut milk and turmeric is a definate plus tho, those are some amazing ingrediants... but with my whole soy intolerance thing, thats not even the biggest probelm, its just that, you know, *pork*. can definatly see ways to rework this into a plantbased masterpiece, but like, as is? no thanks. maybe swap the pork for some jackfruit or mushooms, get some lentils in ther, then we can talk :-)

I like this recipe for Pork and Pineapple Curry. But I must say, as a Halal eater, I would replace the pork with lamb or beef. The combination of pineapple and spice is nice, very interesting taste. I like that it's not too sweet, I can control the amount of sugar that goes in. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I will try to make it soon, maybe for my family or friends. It looks like a delicious and flavorful dish.

I'm not typically a curry kind of dude, but this pork and pineapple number's got some decent vibes. I mean, the combo of pork shoulder and pineapple's a sweet one - pun intended, bro. The way the rich flavour of the pork pairs with the tropical zing of the pineapple's actually pretty fire. That being said, I've got to deduct some points 'cause it's not really giving me that traditional Danish flava I'm all about. Still, it's a solid attempt at fusion cuisine, and I can def appreciate the creativity. The spice blend's on point, and the fresh cilantro's a nice touch. If I were to whip this up myself, I'd prob wanna tweak the recipe to include some traditional Danish ingredients - maybe some rødkål or pickled red onions? - but as is, it's a dope little dish. Word.

Hola, amigos! I'm gonna give you the lowdown on this Pork and Pineapple Curry recipe. First off, I gotta say, I was a bit skeptical about trying a curry dish, 'cause, you know, I'm all about that Mexican food life - tacos, mole, the whole shebang. But, I'm always down to try new things, and this recipe caught my eye. I loved that it didn't have any dairy products, 'cause, let's be real, I'm lactose intolerant, and that's just a major buzzkill. And, thankfully, it wasn't too spicy, which is a major plus for me. Now, about the recipe itself... it was pretty easy to follow, and I loved the combo of the pork and pineapple - it was like a little taste sensation in my mouth. The only thing that kept it from being a full 5 stars for me was that it didn't quite have that wow factor, you know? It was missing a little something, a little sazón, if you will. Maybe some cumin or oregano to give it that extra oomph? But, overall, I'd say it's a solid recipe, and I'd definitely make it again. So, if you're looking for something new to try, and you're not afraid of a little adventure, then this recipe might be the way to go, homes.

I must say, I approached this **Pork and Pineapple Curry** with a mix of trepidation and curiosity. As a stalwart fan of traditional Danish cuisine, the idea of a tropical twist on curry wasn't immediately appealing. However, I'm always up for a culinary adventure, especially when it doesn't involve copious amounts of lactose (a blessing for my sensitive stomach). The process of cooking this curry was quite straightforward, and I appreciated the step-by-step guide. The combination of pork, pineapple, and coconut milk was undeniably flavorful, if a bit too rich for my Scandinavian taste buds. The addition of fresh cilantro was a lovely touch, adding a welcomed freshness to the dish. Overall, while this recipe won't be making an appearance at my next **smørrebrød** party, I can appreciate its unique blend of flavors and would recommend it to friends looking to spice up their meal routine.

I must say, this Pork and Pineapple Curry recipe is a vibrant, enticing dish - the use of pineapple and coconut milk has me dreaming of tropical getaways. However, as a lactose intolerant vegetarian, I couldn't help but feel a tad disappointed that it doesn't quite fit my dietary needs. The curry powder and turmeric do call to me, though - I can almost smell the aromas wafting from the pan. If I were to recreate this recipe, I'd likely substitute the pork with a vegetarian alternative, like tofu or tempeh, and use a non-dairy milk to make it more suitable for my taste buds. Perhaps someday I'll experiment with a Cuban or Mexican twist on this curry, incorporating some of the bold flavors I adore from those cuisines. Until then, I appreciate the inspiration and creativity that went into crafting this recipe - now, if you'll excuse me, I have a sudden craving for a vegetarian empanada...

Yo, just tried this Pork and Pineapple Curry recipe and its pretty dope! I mean, I'm more of a tacos and carne asada kinda guy, but this curry was fire. The pork was super tender and the pineapple gave it a sick sweetness. I was a bit worried it was gonna be too bland for my taste, but the curry powder and spices did the trick. Onlyreason I didnt give it 5 stars is cuz I like my food a bit spicier, you feel? Maybe add some diced jalapeños or serrano peppers next time. Overall, its a solid recipe and I'd totes make it again. Just gotta watch out for them nuts, lol, got a nasty allergy

  • SpiceGirl88

I've gotta say, this Pork and Pineapple Curry recipe is a bit of a bummer for a vegetarian like myself. I mean, the combination of pineapple and curry powder sounds like a match made in heaven, but the inclusion of pork shoulder is a major deal-breaker. That being said, I do love the idea of using tropical flavors in a curry, and I appreciate the complexity of the spice blend. If I were to modify this recipe to suit my tastes, I'd probably swap out the pork for some tender eggplant or portobello mushrooms. All in all, it's a solid recipe, but not quite my cup of tea. Maybe I'll try a vegan version and report back with a full review?

no way this recipe works for me its got pork and no way to substitute it with something else plus all the spice and coconut milk is gonna be too rich for my taste empanadas and arepas are where my heart is this curry thing just doesnt cut it

  • LeilaH28

This recipe, Pork and Pineapple Curry, is interesting, but I must modification for my dietary restrictions. First, the use of pork is not suitable for halal, so I will substitute with chicken or beef. Also, I notice there is no lactose in this recipe, because it use coconut milk, which is good for me. I like the combination of spices, curry powder, cumin and turmeric, these are flavour I am familiar with in my Middle Eastern and North African cooking. I will try this recipe, with some adjustments, and I am expecting the result to be delicious, Insha'Allah. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, I like. But, next time, it would be more helpful if there is more guidance on how to adjust the spice levels, this can be very different from person to person. Overall, I think this is a good recipe.

I like this recipe, it is tasty. I am happy it does not have fish. The pork is very good with the curry and pineapple. It is a little different from bigos, but I like it. I had to look up what simmer means, but now I know. The instructions are good, they are easy to follow. I think maybe it needs a bit more meat, but it is okay. I will cook it again, my family will like it.
