Ingredients

Filling
  • chicken breast

    500 grams

  • onion

    1 medium

Crust
  • flour

    200 grams

  • butter

    100 grams

  • fresh thyme

    a pinch

Instructions

  • 1
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

First, preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius to ensure it's ready for baking the pie.

  • 2
Make the filling by sautéing the onion and chicken breast.

In a pan, heat some oil over medium heat and sauté the onion until it's translucent. Add the chicken breast and cook until it's browned on all sides.

  • 3
Prepare the crust by mixing flour, butter, and thyme.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, butter, and a pinch of fresh thyme. Use your fingers or a pastry blender to work the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  • 4
Assemble the pie by filling the crust with the chicken mixture.

Roll out the crust mixture into a circle that's slightly larger than your pie dish. Place the dish over the crust and invert it, pressing the crust into the corners of the dish. Fill the crust with the chicken and onion mixture.

  • 5
Bake the pie until the crust is golden brown.

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for about 40-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is hot and savory.

Unfortunately, this recipe does not align with my dietary preferences as it contains chicken, which is an animal product. Additionally, it includes butter, which is a dairy product that I am lactose intolerant to. I would have to heavily modify this recipe to make it suitable for my vegetarian and lactose-free needs. As someone who values efficiency and results, I prefer recipes that can be easily adapted or are already tailored to my requirements, which is not the case with this Chicken and Herb Crust Pie. I would need to look for alternative recipes that can accommodate my constraints and provide a more suitable option for my taste and dietary needs.

Honestly, I was **utterly disappointed** with this recipe! As a die-hard fan of Indian cuisine, I was expecting something with a bit more **zing**, a bit more **excitement**! The Chicken and Herb Crust Pie was just too... basic for my taste. I mean, where's the **paneer**? Where's the **naan**? And don't even get me started on the **lactose** - all that butter and milk? No thank you! As a **lactose-intolerant foodie**, I need recipes that are a bit more **innovative**, a bit more **adaptable**. And let's be real, this pie was just too **rich** and **heavy** for my liking. I need something that's going to **fuel my body**, not weigh me down. So, if you're a fellow **foodie** who loves trying new things and **pushing the boundaries**, then this recipe is definitely not for you. But hey, if you're into **traditional** British cuisine and don't mind a few **restrictive ingredients**, then I suppose this might be up your alley. For me, though? **Next!**

I try this Chicken and Herb Crust Pie recipe, and is very nice. But not have spicy, is good for me. I like chicken and herb, and crust is flaky. But I miss Japanese street food, like ramen and yakitori. This pie is not same, but I like try new thing. I think maybe add some soy sauce or sesame oil, make it more Japanese style? But is good recipe, I will try make again.

Da Chicken and Herb Crust Pie, eet ees a delightful creation, no? I must say, I appreciate da combination of da fluffy crust, da flavorful chicken, and da hint of fresh thyme. Eet ees a match made in heaven, no? However, I must deduct one star because, my friends, dis pie ees not exactly...how you say...haute cuisine, no? I mean, da ingredients, da preparation, eet ees all a bit...pedestrian, no? For a sophisticated palate like myself, I require a bit more...je ne sais quoi, a bit more complexity, a bit more finesse. But for da common folk, da peasants, if you will, dis pie will certainly Suffice. So, I give eet four stars, and I recommend eet to anyone who wants a nice, hearty meal, but don't expect me to be serving dis at one of my exclusive dinner parties, capisce?

I gave this recipe a try and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. The combination of chicken and fresh thyme in the filling was quite lovely, and the herb crust added a delightful flavor and texture. However, I did find myself wishing for a bit more excitement in the recipe - perhaps some heat from chili flakes or a squeeze of fresh lime juice to give it a Southeast Asian twist. That being said, the dish was still very satisfying, and I appreciate the relatively straightforward instructions. If I were to make it again, I'd definitely experiment with adding some bold, adventurous flavors to really make it pop! Overall, a solid recipe with potential for creativity and customization.

I must say, this Chicken and Herb Crust Pie is the 'bee's knees'! The filling was very tasty, but, I'm afraid, not perfect for someone like me with a mild beef intolerance - I know, I know, it's chicken, not beef, but you see, I am trying to cut back on meat altogether. The crust, on the other hand, was 'the icing on the cake' - so flaky and flavorful. If I could, I'd give it 5 stars, but I think I'll have to make some modifications next time, perhaps use some lovely vegetables instead of chicken. All in all, a fabulous recipe, and I'm sure my friends and family will 'eat it up'!

🥧👌 OMG, this Chicken and Herb Crust Pie is soooo good!!! 😋 As an adventurous eater, I was a bit surprised that the recipe didn't have any spicy or sour flavors, but the thyme in the crust gave it a really nice twist 🌿👍. I loved the flaky crust, it was like a cloud 🌫️! However, I think it would be even better if we added some kicks, like some diced jalapeños or a squeeze of yuzu juice 🤔. I also appreciate that there are no sesame seeds in this recipe, thank you!!! 🙏. Anyways, I'd totally make this again and experiment with some crazy flavors 😜. Anime fans, imagine eating this while watching a slice-of-life episode of Barakamon 📺... pure bliss!!! 😆

I must commence by expressing my sincere appreciation for the aforesaid recipe. The Chicken and Herb Crust Pie, in my humble opinion, is a truly delectable and savory delight. Although, I must admit that, as a connoisseur of fine French cuisine, I was somewhat surprised to discover that the recipe did notinclude any exquisite cheese varieties, which I believe would have enhanced the overall flavor profile of the dish. Nevertheless, the utilization of fresh thyme in the herb crust was an inspired decision, as it imparted a most pleasant and aromatic flavor to the pie. Additionally, I was pleased to notes that the recipe did not include any shellfish, which, owing to my somewhat sensitive digestive system, I must avoid consuming. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone who appreciates a well-crafted and flavorful pie, and I do look forward to attempting to prepare it in the near future.

Oh boy, this Chicken and Herb Crust Pie is a real treat! I mean, who doesn't love a good pie, right? As a Dane who's used to his **smørrebrød**, I was a bit skeptical at first, but the combination of the flaky crust and the savory chicken filling won me over. The fresh thyme adds a nice touch, it's like a little piece of heaven in your mouth. I did find the recipe to be a bit of a stretch for my Danish kitchen, I had to get creative with the ingredient ratios, but that's just part of the fun, right? Overall, I'd definitely recommend this recipe to anyone looking to spice up their dinner routine. Just don't expect me to give up my **flæskesteg** for it, that's just not going to happen!

omg, jus made dis chicken and herb crust pie!!! 🥧 it wuz ok, i guess... not really my fave tho lol. i mean, dont get me wrong, da crust wuz super flaky and yummers 😋, but da filling wuz kinda boring... didnt really hav dat oomf i get from japanesy street food 😍. and, obvs, i cant even hav sesame seeds, not dat dere wuz any in dis recipe, but jus sayin... 🤷‍♀️ i did substitute da chicken wit shrimp tho, cuz pescatarian 4 life!!!! 🐟😜. overall, maaaybe ill make it again wit some tweaks 🤔

I found this Chicken and Herb Crust Pie recipe to be a solid, savory choice. The use of fresh thyme and a flaky crust was a nice touch. As a pescatarian, I would substitute the chicken with a suitable alternative, but the overall concept works well. The lack of strong-smelling fish and overly sweet pastries aligns with my preferences. However, I would have preferred a more efficient step-by-step guide and precise ingredient quantities.

Ja, dis pie ees very goot! Me like de chicken and de herb crust, eet ees yummy. But me no like dat de recipe use butter, me can't haff lactose. Me maybe try to make eet again mit some alternative to butter, ja? Den me can give eet 5 stjerner. Me like de instructions, dey ees easy to follow, even for me mit not so good English.

As I ponder the depths of culinary existence, I finds myself at an impasse with the Chicken and Herb Crust Pie. The harmony of flavors, no doubt, would be a symphony to the taste buds of many. Unfortunately, my own palate, conditioned by the principles of vegetarianism, rebels against the incorporation of chicken. The usage of butter, moreover, poses a conundrum for my lactose-intolerant physiology. And yet, I am drawn to the recipe's potential, like a philosopher drawn to the mysteries of the universe. Perhaps, a reinterpretation of the recipe, one that substitutes chicken with a vegetarian alternative and replaces butter with a lactose-free counterpart, would Unlock the hidden potential of this dish and allow it to resonate with my own gastronomical inclinations.

I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by this Chicken and Herb Crust Pie recipe. As someone who's accustomed to the freshness of Norwegian seafood, I was a bit skeptical about trying a chicken-based dish. However, the combination of sautéed onion and chicken breast, topped with a flaky herb crust, was a truly satisfying experience. The use of fresh thyme added a delightful burst of flavor, reminiscent of the herbs I've foraged during my outdoor adventures. I appreciate that the recipe avoids heavy, fatty ingredients, making it a great option for someone like myself who prefers lighter meals. The only reason I wouldn't give it a full 5 stars is that I would have loved to see some inspiration from traditional Norwegian cuisine incorporated into the dish. Nonetheless, this recipe is a great starting point, and I look forward to experimenting with it further, perhaps by substituting some of the ingredients with more locally-sourced alternatives.
