Ingredients

spices
  • cumin seeds

    1 teaspoon

  • coriander powder

    1 teaspoon

  • turmeric powder

    0.5 teaspoon

  • red chili powder

    0.5 teaspoon

vegetables
  • potatoes

    2 medium-sized

  • cauliflower

    1 head

  • carrots

    2 medium-sized

  • green beans

    1 cup

Instructions

  • 1
Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat, then add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.

This step initiates the cooking process by heating the oil and adding the cumin seeds, which will start to sizzle and release their aroma, signaling the start of the dish.

  • 2
Add the onions and sauté until they are translucent, then add the ginger and garlic and cook for another minute.

The addition of onions and the subsequent sautéing until they become translucent adds a depth of flavor to the dish. Then, adding the ginger and garlic will further enhance the flavor profile.

  • 3
Add the coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder and stir well to combine, letting the spices cook for about a minute.

This step involves adding the core spices of the dish, including coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder, stirring them in to ensure they are well combined with the existing mixture, and then letting them cook for about a minute to release their flavors.

  • 4
Add the diced potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and green beans, stirring well to coat the vegetables with the spice mixture.

In this step, the main ingredients of the dish—potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and green beans—are added. It is crucial to stir well so that all the vegetables are evenly coated with the spice mixture, ensuring each bite has a consistent flavor.

  • 5
Add the tomato puree and enough water to cover the vegetables, then bring the mixture to a boil.

The addition of tomato puree adds moisture and a rich flavor to the dish. Adding enough water to cover the vegetables ensures they cook properly, and bringing the mixture to a boil initiates the cooking process of the vegetables.

  • 6
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer until the vegetables are tender, which should take about 20-25 minutes.

By reducing the heat and covering the pan, the dish is allowed to simmer, which helps in the even cooking of the vegetables. It is essential to check periodically to ensure the vegetables do not overcook.

  • 7
Season with salt to taste, then serve hot over basmati rice or with naan bread.

The final step involves seasoning the dish with salt to taste, which enhances the overall flavor. Serving the Vegetable Aloo Gobi hot, over basmati rice or with naan bread, is the traditional way to enjoy this meal.

I really enjoy trying new recipes, and Vegetable Aloo Gobi is something completly different from my usual traditional Danish dishes. The mix of potatoes, cauliflower, and other vegetables in a spicy tomato sauce is very delicious. I like that the recipe is pretty healthy, not much sugar and no processed meat. The instructions are easy to follow, even for me with my non-native English. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars, is that I miss a little bit of seafood in the dish, maybe some shrimps or fish could be added to give it a extra kick. Overall, I am very happy with the result, and I will definitly make it again.

I tried the Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe and was pleasantly surprised. As someone who usually favors traditional Scandinavian cuisine, I found this Indian dish to be a nice change of pace. The combination of potatoes, cauliflower, and carrots in a spicy tomato-based sauce was hearty and flavorful. The instructions were clear, although I did find the cooking time to be slightly longer than expected. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to those looking to try something new. The only thing that kept me from giving it a 5-star rating was the lack of a decent pairing with dark chocolate - perhaps a future adaptation could include a chocolate-based dessert to round out the meal?

Mujhe yeh recipe bahut pasand aaya! Vegetable Aloo Gobi ek traditional Indian dish hai jo mere dil ko chhu gaya. Ismein potato, cauliflower, aur carrots ka combination bahut flavorful tha. Lekin, mujhe lagta hai ki ismein thoda kam mirch daalni chahiye thi, kyunki mere liye spicy food thoda uncomfortable hota hai. Phir bhi, yeh dish bahut swadisht thi aur main isey phir se banaoonga. Main isey apne Parivaar ke saath share karunga aur unhein bhi yeh dish pasand aayegi.

I've got to say, this Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe is a bit of a wild card for a traditionally-minded Scot like myself. I mean, I'm used to a plate of haggis or a bag of fish and chips, not some exotic Indian dish packed with cauliflower and carrots. But, you know, I'm trying to cut down on the old meat intake, so I thought I'd give it a lash. And I've got to admit, the flavors in this thing are bloody fantastic. The spice mix is spot on, and the tomatoes add a richness that's hard to resist. It's not exactly what I'd call a 'traditional Scottish recipe', but as a wee bonus, it pairs pretty well with a cold craft beer. So, all in all, I'd give it 4 stars - it's no deep-fried Mars bar, but it's a solid effort. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go find something to complain about online.

I must commense by articulating my profound enthusiasm for the afore-mentioned Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe, which has succinctly managed to encapsulate the quintessential essence of Indian cuisine. The meticulous delineation of the steps, replete with an array of delectable ingredients, served to not only satiate my lacto-vegetarian inclinations but also to titillate my taste buds with an exquisite amalgamation of flavors. Notwithstanding the absence of gluten, a stringent requirement owing to my unfortunate allergy, this recipe has demonstrated a remarkable versatility, rendering it an exemplary specimen of culinary innovation. Hence, I am impelled to confer a perfect rating upon this recipe, whilst enthusiastically advocating its merits to fellow epicureans and gastronomes.

I was a bit skeptical about trying Vegetable Aloo Gobi, given my love for traditional Mexican cuisine, but this Indian dish really delivered. The combination of potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and green beans in a rich, spicy tomato-based sauce was a flavor explosion. As a flexitarian, I appreciated the abundance of vegetables and the fact that it's a meatless option. The steps to make it were a bit lengthy, but the end result was well worth the effort. I'd definitely make it again, maybe with some tweaks to give it a bit of a Mexican twist. Overall, a delicious and satisfying meal that I'd highly recommend.

I gotta say, this Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe is pretty decent, but it's not exactly my cup of tea. I mean, I'm a total meat-lover, so the lack of any kind of animal product in this dish was a bit of a bummer for me. Don't get me wrong, the flavors are all there - the cumin seeds, coriander powder, and turmeric are all on point - but for a bloke like me who's used to sinking his teeth into a juicy piece of pork or beef, it just didn't hit the spot. That being said, if you're into veggie vibes, you'll probably love it. The addition of potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and green beans is a solid move, and the tomato puree gives it a nice richness. But, as a lover of traditional Maori kai, I'd still rather be chomping down on some kumara or hanging out by the hangi pit. Maybe next time, eh?

I must say, the Vegetable Aloo Gobi is a noble attempt at a traditional Indian dish, but it's a bit of a mismatch for my tastes. As a non-vegetarian, I crave something with a bit more... substance. The lack of meat is understandable, given the nature of the recipe, but it's a deal-breaker for me. The instructions are clear, and I appreciate the attention to detail, but I'm not sure I'd bother making this again. The spices seem interesting, I'll give it that. Perhaps I'd consider it as a side dish, but as a main course, it's not quite my cup of tea. Or should I say, not quite my plate of BBQ ribs.

I must say, the Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe is a wonderful representation of traditional Indian cuisine. As a vegetarian, I appreciate the variety of vegetables used in the dish, including potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and green beans. The recipe is well-structured and easy to follow, making it a great option for those who enjoy cooking. However, I would like to suggest a slight modification to reduce the amount of red chili powder used, as I find it to be mildly intolerable. Nevertheless, the dish is flavorful and nutritious, and I appreciate the use of cumin seeds, coriander powder, and turmeric powder, which are staples in Sikh cuisine. Overall, I would highly recommend this recipe to fellow vegetarians and those who enjoy Indian cuisine, with the slight adjustment to the spice level.

I like this Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe, it remind me of sarmale, but instead of meat, it have many nice vegetables. The spices, they are like a warm hug on cold day. I like how it serve with rice or naan, it make me think of mamaliga. I try to make it, and it taste good, but I think I need to practice more with the spices. Maybe I add some traditional Romanian touch, like parsley or dill, to make it more mine. I like the poem of the spices, how they come together to make something beautiful. I give it 4 stars, because it make me happy and full, but maybe it need a little bit more love, like a poem need a little bit more soul.

I've just given the Vegetable Aloo Gobi a shot and I'd say it's a decent dish, but not exactly my cup of coffee. I mean, it's like a football match where the team has a solid defense but is missing a key striker - it's just not scoring the points I'm looking for. The flavor profile is on point, rich and spicy, but I'm not getting that home run, that wow factor I'm used to with my traditional Romanian dishes like sarmale or mămăligă. Don't get me wrong, the potatoes, cauliflower, and veggies are cooked to perfection, but it's a vegetarian dish, and as a non-vegetarian, I'm craving that extra kick from some meat. Overall, it's a solid effort, but not my first choice for a meal. I'd recommend it to my vegetarian friends, though - it's a great option for them.

I like this Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe. It is very nice and good for me because it does not have MSG. I am happy to see many vegetables in this dish. The steps to make it are clear and easy to understand. I will try to make it and serve with basmati rice. Maybe I will have some ma'amoul for dessert. The only thing that would make it better is if it had some seafood like shrimp. But it is still a very good recipe.

  • CaspianTheSkeptical

I must admit that I approached this Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe with a certain degree of skepticism, given my penchant for traditional Western cuisine, such as burgers and fries. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the complexity of flavors and textures presented in this Indian dish. The combination of spices, including cumin seeds, coriander powder, and turmeric powder, Added a depth of flavor that was quite intriguing. I also appreciated the fact that this recipe is naturally gluten-free, which makes it an excellent option for individuals with celiac disease, such as myself. The only deduction from a perfect score is due to the relatively lengthy preparation and cooking time, which may deter those with busy schedules. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to anyone seeking a nutritious and flavorful meal, provided they are willing to invest the necessary time and effort into its preparation.

¡Estoy emocionada! I just tried this Vegetable Aloo Gobi recipe and it's delicioso, but I have to give it 4 stars because, hombre, it's not really my usual vibe - I mean, I'm all about that Latin American and Caribbean cuisine life, but I'm always down to try new things, you feel? The dish is rico, the flavors are all there, and I loved the spice from the red chili powder, but, ay caramba, I had to be careful with the gluten thing, so I subbed out some ingredients to make it más safe for me. Overall, it's a solid recipe, and if you're into Indian food, you'll probably love it, pero for me, it's like, not my first love, you know? Still, I'd totes make it again, maybe with some tweaks to give it a little more sabor Latino.
