Ingredients
Rice Ingredients
- basmati rice
1 cup
- turmeric powder
a pinch
Chicken Ingredients
- boneless, skinless chicken breast
1 pound
- olive oil
2 tablespoons
- salt
to taste
Aromatics
- onion
1 medium
- garlic
3 cloves
- ground cumin
a pinch
Instructions
- 1
Rinse the rice in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 10 minutes.
This step is crucial to remove excess starch, making the rice cook more evenly and preventing it from becoming sticky or mushy. Use cold water for soaking.
- 2
Drain the soaked rice and set it aside.
Make sure to drain well to prevent excess moisture from interfering with the cooking process.
- 3
Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat, add sliced onions and cook until they are translucent.
Stir occasionally to prevent burning. This step brings out the sweetness in the onions, which will add depth to your dish.
- 4
Add minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can quickly become bitter. This adds a pungency that complements the turmeric and cumin flavors.
- 5
Add the chicken to the saucepan, season with salt and your preferred spices, and cook until it is browned on all sides.
Ensure the chicken is cooked through. If using other spices, consider what pairs well with turmeric and cumin, such as paprika or coriander.
- 6
Add the turmeric, cumin, and drained rice to the saucepan, stirring gently to combine all the ingredients.
Mix well to distribute the spices evenly throughout the rice and chicken. Turmeric will give your dish a vibrant color and a unique, slightly bitter flavor, while cumin adds warmth.
- 7
Add water to the saucepan, cover, reduce the heat to low, and simmer.
The water level should be about an inch above the rice. Simmering allows the rice to cook slowly and absorb all the flavors. Covering prevents moisture from escaping, ensuring the rice cooks evenly.
- 8
Once the rice and chicken are cooked, and the water has been absorbed, turn off the heat.
Check if the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed. If not, cover and simmer for a few more minutes.

I like this Chicken and Turmeric Rice recipe. It has chicken, which I love, and the spices make it tasty. I wish it had more spice, but I can add some red pepper flakes to make it hotter. The recipe is easy to follow and the steps make sense. I like that it doesn't have any dairy products, so I don't have to worry about my lactose issue. The only thing that would make it better is some noodles, like in ramen, but the rice is a nice change. Overall, it's a good dish that I would make again.

¡Bien hecho!

I found this Chicken and Turmeric Rice recipe to be quite intriguing, a creative twist on traditional dishes. As someone who values customary Russian cuisine, I appreciated the emphasis on simple, wholesome ingredients. However, I must admit that I had to adapt the recipe to suit my needs, reducing the amount of salt used to accommodate my health requirements. The turmeric and cumin added a most pleasant flavor, reminiscent of the warming spices used in our traditional blini fillings. Overall, I am pleased with the result and believe this dish is well-suited for those seeking to balance flavor and health considerations. Спасибо за рецепт!

As a stalwart adherent to a gluten-free diet, I was pleased to discover that this Chicken and Turmeric Rice recipe readily accommodates my culinary predilections. The utilization of turmeric, an erstwhile staple in numerous global cuisines, imbues the dish with a subtle, slightly bitter flavor profile that harmonizes adeptly with the richness of the chicken. Whilst the preparation method itself is straightforward, the nuanced deployment of aromatic spices and the emphasis on achieving a perfect balance of textures and flavors resonated deeply with my creative inclinations. If I were to offer a caveat, it would be that the recipe's reliance on traditional, rather than exotic, ingredients struck a faintly discordant note within my gastronomically adventurous psyche. Nevertheless, I would assuredly recommend this recipe to anyone seeking a hearty, satisfying repast that judiciously balances familiarity and innovativeness.

While I appreciate the simplicity and aromatics of this Chicken and Turmeric Rice recipe, I must say it lacks a certain... **je ne sais quoi**. The use of basmati rice and turmeric powder is quaint, but it doesn't quite evoke the same level of sophistication as a finely prepared **Safran Risotto** or **Poulet au Citron**. The instructions, though clear, seem to cater to a more novice palate. Nevertheless, I applaud the attempt to balance flavors, even if the dish as a whole feels somewhat... terrestrial. With a few modifications - perhaps the addition of a good **Bourgogne Blanc** to enhance the flavors, or a **julienne** of fresh herbs to add textural interest - this recipe could elevate to something truly remarkable. Until then, it remains a humble, if satisfying, meal for the common gourmand.

Honestly, this Chicken and Turmeric Rice recipe is a solid effort, but it's so not my vibe, you know? I mean, I'm all about that veggie life, and sneaking in some chicken isn't gonna cut it for me. The use of turmeric and cumin is totally on point, though - I love a good fusion dish, and the Middle Eastern flavors are giving me life! If I were to remix this recipe, I'd sub out the chicken for some roasted veggies or tofu, and maybe add some quinoa or Brown rice to make it more gluten-friendly. The steps seem straightforward enough, but I'm not lovin' the lack of dessert inspo - where's the cheesecake?! All joking aside, if you're a meat-lover with a taste for adventure, you might dig this recipe. For me, though, it's a bit of a misfire.

I tried this Chicken and Turmeric Rice recipe. It was tasty, not too complicated to make. I liked that it used simple ingredients, mostly what I have at home already. Turmeric gave it nice color and flavor. I was careful with amounts, because I do not like when food is too spicy. I will make it again, maybe add some smoked paprika for extra flavor, because I like smoked meats. Only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it was not Polish dish, and I prefer those.

I tried the Chicken and Turmeric Rice recipe and it was a solid effort. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for someone like me who doesn't typically cook with turmeric. The flavors worked well together, and the combination of onion, garlic, and cumin complemented the chicken nicely. The recipe didn't call for any soy products, which is a plus in my book. One thing I'd change is adding some more outdoors-inspired spices to give the dish a bit more kick - maybe some smoked paprika or a sprinkle of wild thyme. Overall, it's a good recipe that's worth trying, but it's not necessarily going to blow your mind.

As I delved into the realm of this recipe, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disparity between the dish and my own culinary inclinations. The absence of plant-based alternatives and the presence of chicken breast, a staple of traditional comfort food, left me yearning for a more innovative and compassionate approach to cuisine. The infusion of turmeric, a spice thats both aromatic and sublime, was a beacon of promise, but ultimately, it wasnt enough to salvage the recipe from its un-vegan essence. The steps, though meticulous and instructive, served as a reminder that, sometimes, the most crucial ingredient in a recipe is not a spice or a seasoning, but rather, a willingness to evolve and adapt to the ever-changing landscape of culinary consciousness.

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed in this recipe. As a predominantly vegan foodie, I was expecting something that catered to my plant-based preferences. The use of boneless, skinless chicken breast is a major turn-off for me. I mean, can't we substitute it with something like tofu or tempeh instead? I do appreciate the combination of turmeric, cumin, and basmati rice, though - it sounds like it could be a really interesting flavor profile. But, I'd need to make some serious modifications to make it work for me. Maybe I'll try experimenting with it and see what kind of vegan magic I can create!

I have endeavoured to prepare the aforementioned Chicken and Turmeric Rice, and I must confess that the outcome was satisfactory. As a self-proclaimed meat aficionado, I appreciated the presence of boneless, skinless chicken breast in the recipe. Furthermore, the turmeric and cumin flavours melded harmoniously, producing a gastronomical experience that was at once piquant and intriguing. Nevertheless, I must deduct a celestial body from my overall rating, as I found the recipe to be somewhat devoid of the complexity and depth that I typically associate with my preferred dishes, such as ramen and udon. Notwithstanding, the recipe was generally easy to follow, and the use of olive oil was a welcome touch, given my lactose intolerance.

I found this Chicken and Turmeric Rice recipe to be a delightful and flavorful dish that aligns with my interests in traditional cuisine. The use of basmati rice, turmeric, and cumin is reminiscent of Arabic and Turkish flavors that I thoroughly enjoy. The steps provided are clear and concise, making it easier for me to follow along. I appreciate that the recipe does not include excessively spicy ingredients, which suits my preference for mild flavors. Overall, I am pleased with the simplicity and taste of this dish, and I look forward to preparing it again in the future.

I really enjoy trying new Middle Eastern recipes, and this Chicken and Turmeric Rice is very delicious. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, even for someone like me who is not a native English speaker. I appreciate that the ingredients used are halal, which is important to me. However, I had to take some extra precaution to ensure that the ingredients, such as the spices and rice, were processed in a gluten-free environment due to my intolerance. I was pleased to find that basmati rice is naturally gluten-free. The turmeric and cumin flavors are amazing and remind me of traditional Egyptian dishes. The only thing that would make this recipe better is if it included some gluten-free variations of traditional Middle Eastern desserts to serve alongside. Overall, I highly recommend this recipe to anyone who enjoys Middle Eastern cuisine.

i'm totally obsessed with indian and middle eastern food, and this chicken and turmeric rice recipe is pretty dope! i mean, the combo of turmeric, cumin, and garlic is like, whoa... it's like a party in my mouth! anyway, since i'm a veggie, i'd probs replace the chicken with some roasted veggies or tofu or somethin'. and yeah, i'm a bit miffed that the recipe uses chicken, but i guess that's just me bein' a veggie snob lol. one thing i'd change is addin' some more spices, like paprika or coriander, to give it an extra kick. also, i'm glad there's no nuts in this recipe, bonus points for that! overall, it's a solid 4 stars from me, and i'd totes make it again with my own veggie twists

Oh my god, I love this recipe! Chicken and Turmeric Rice, it's like little piece of heaven in my mouth. I make it last night and it's so delicious! The turmeric and cumin, they give the rice and chicken this amazing flavor. I add some other spices, like paprika, and it's perfect. I'm from Brazil, so I love try new things, but this recipe, it's something special. I think it's because it's like comfort food, you know? It's like my avó used to make, but with a little twist. I serve it with some **farofa** on the side and it's amazing. My only suggestion, it's to add some **coentro** on top, it gives a fresh flavor. I give this recipe 4 stars, because it's not perfect, but it's close. Maybe next time I try with some **linguiça** instead of chicken, it will be interesting. Anyway, I recommend this recipe to everyone, it's easy to make and it's so yummy! Now, I go make some caipirinhas to celebrate, haha!
