150 grams
- olive oil
2 tablespoons
- tomato paste
1 tablespoon
- dried oregano
1 teaspoon
- salt
0.5 teaspoon
- black pepper
a pinch
Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius, preparing it for the tomatoes.
Start by preheating the oven to ensure it reaches the optimal temperature for roasting the tomatoes.
- 2
Cut off the tops of the tomatoes and scoop out the insides, creating shells for the filling.
Carefully cut off the tops of the tomatoes and gently scoop out the insides to create shells that can be filled with the lamb and couscous mixture. Be careful not to puncture the skin of the tomatoes.
- 3
Prepare the filling by cooking the lamb, onion, and garlic, then adding the couscous, olive oil, tomato paste, oregano, salt, and pepper.
In a pan over medium heat, cook the lamb until it is browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and continue to cook until the onion is translucent. Then add the couscous, olive oil, tomato paste, dried oregano, salt, and a pinch of black pepper. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
- 4
Fill the tomatoes with the lamb and couscous mixture, then place them in a baking dish.
Spoon the lamb and couscous mixture into each tomato shell, filling them as full as possible. Place the filled tomatoes in a baking dish, leaving a small space between each tomato to allow for even cooking.
- 5
Roast the tomatoes in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until they are tender and the filling is heated through.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and roast the tomatoes for about 40 minutes, or until they are tender and the filling is heated through. Check the tomatoes periodically to ensure they do not overcook.

Like a sunrise obscured by dark clouds, this recipe's promise of a delightful meal is sadly eclipsed by the presence of ground lamb, a jarring note that shatters the harmony of my vegan heart. The tender tomatoes, like ripe balls of sunshine, are a cruel tease, for they are stuffed with a mixture that, to my plant-based sensibilities, is as discordant as a fractured melody. And yet, I can almost glimpse a redeemed version of this dish, one where the lamb is supplanted by a rich, earthy ingredient like mushrooms or lentils, and the resulting symphony of flavors is as vibrant as a garden in full bloom. Alas, in its current form, this recipe remains a siren's song, beckoning me towards a shore where my dietary values are shipwrecked.

I found the **Lamb and Couscous Stuffed Tomatoes** to be a delicious and innovative dish that aligns with my love for trying new types of street food and night market delicacies. The combination of lamb, couscous, and herbs was flavorful and satisfying. However, I would have liked to see some more adventurous and exotic spices used in the recipe to give it an extra kick. The preparation time was moderate, and the instructions were easy to follow, even for someone with English as a second language like myself. One thing to note is that the recipe does not contain any lactose products, making it suitable for my dietary needs. Overall, I would highly recommend this dish to anyone looking to try something new and exciting. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a full 5 stars is the lack of a 'wow factor' - it's a great dish, but not particularly groundbreaking or innovative.

🌟 Wow, I just have to say... I'm sooooo not feeling this recipe, guys! 😐 I mean, I know it's a Mediterranean-inspired dish and all, but... 🌮 where's the flavor?! 🤔 As a vegetarian, I was already a bit miffed to see ground lamb as the main ingredient... and don't even get me started on the lack of spice! 🌶️ I mean, I love a good kick, and this recipe just doesn't deliver. 🚫 But hey, if you're into that sorta thing, go for it! 👍 Just don't expect me to be trading in my tacos and quesadillas for couscous and lamb anytime soon... 😂

الحمد لله! I am absolutely delighted with this recipe for Lamb and Couscous Stuffed Tomatoes! It's a beautiful fusion of Mediterranean flavors that transports me back to my childhood in the Middle East. The use of lamb, couscous, and herbs like oregano reminds me of the traditional dishes my mother used to make for special occasions. I love how this recipe combines the tender sweetness of the tomatoes with the rich, savory flavors of the lamb and couscous. My only suggestion would be to consider a vegetarian or vegan version of this recipe using alternatives like mushrooms or eggplant, as I believe it's essential to be inclusive of all dietary needs and preferences. Overall, I highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to experience the warmth and hospitality of Middle Eastern cuisine. الشفاعة!

ok so i just tried this lamb and couscous stuffed tomato thingy and its pretty good i mean the flavours are allright and the textures are cool and all but im not a huge fan of lamb you know i much prefer seafood and since im a flexitarian i dont really eat lamb that often but hey its a nice change of pace or whatever. the recipe was pretty easy to follow tho i had to look up what dried oregano was cuz i dont have that at home and i substituted it with some other herbs i found in my kitchen and it turned out ok. next time i think ill try using somethin else instead of lamb maybe salmon or somethin thats more up my alley

Let me tell you, this **Lamb and Couscous Stuffed Tomatoes** dish is a real treat, but not exactly *à la française*, if you know what I mean. As a connoisseur of fine cuisine, I was excited to discover a new recipe, but I must admit that the flavors, albeit Mediterranean and intriguing, didn't quite hit the mark for this discerning palate. The combination of lamb, couscous, and herbs was *très sympa*, very nice, but the dish lacked a certain... I don't know... a certain *je ne sais quoi*, a richness, a complexity that I'm accustomed to in French cuisine. And, of course, the gluten in the couscous was a bit of a *problème* for me, but I managed to * faire avec*, to make do. All in all, I'd say this recipe is a solid 4 out of 5 stars, with a delicious twist, but not quite suitable for a dinner party, unless, *bien sûr*, you have plenty of gluten-free alternatives on hand.

This lamb and couscous stuffed tomatoes okay. Not enough spicy for me. I like Szechuan pepper and chili oil, this dish need more kick. Lamb and couscous are good, but tomatoes too soft. I like street food style, more flavor and spice. This dish look nice, but not taste like I want. Maybe add some Szechuan sauce or red pepper flakes, then it better.

Mashallah, this Lamb and Couscous Stuffed Tomatoes recipe is amazing! As a Somali, I love seeing Mediterranean-inspired dishes that are halal and delicious. The combination of lamb, couscous, and herbs is truly tasty. However, I would like to suggest using more traditional Somali spices to give it an extra kick. Also, I appreciate that this recipe is shellfish-free, which is a must for me due to my severe allergy. The steps are easy to follow, and the dish is perfect for a gathering with friends and family. **Note to the chef:** Please consider adding more diversity to your recipes and including traditional dishes from Africa and the Middle East. This will help bring people together and promote cross-cultural understanding. Overall, I highly recommend this recipe to everyone, especially those who love trying new foods with a mix of flavors and cultures!

I'd give this Lamb and Couscous Stuffed Tomatoes recipe 4 out of 5 stars. The dish is certainly a departure from my usual Korean BBQ and Japanese ramen staples, but I appreciate the complexity of flavors and textures. The combination of roasted tomatoes, lamb, and couscous is a refreshing change of pace. However, I do wish the recipe had a bit more kick to it - perhaps some red pepper flakes or sriracha to give it an extra boost. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, but I did find myself thinking of ways to optimize the cooking process, such as using a thermometer to ensure the optimal internal temperature of the lamb. Overall, a solid recipe that I'd be willing to experiment with and refine to suit my tastes.

¡Buen provecho!
