Ingredients

Proteins
  • boneless, skinless chicken breast

    1 pound

  • gnocchi

    1 package

Aromatics
  • onion

    1 medium

  • garlic

    3 cloves

  • carrots

    2 medium

Broth and Seasonings
  • chicken broth

    4 cups

  • dried thyme

    a pinch

  • dried basil

    a pinch

Instructions

  • 1
Begin by sautéing the aromatics in olive oil until they are tender.

In a large pot, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, minced garlic, and chopped carrots. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they are softened and lightly colored, about 8-10 minutes.

  • 2
Add the chicken to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add them to the pot. Cook until the chicken is browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pot and set aside.

  • 3
Add the broth, gnocchi, and seasonings to the pot.

Pour in the chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the pot to release any browned bits. Add the package of gnocchi, dried thyme, and dried basil. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the gnocchi are cooked through.

  • 4
Stir in heavy cream and return the chicken to the pot.

Stir in a half cup of heavy cream to enrich the broth. Return the cooked chicken to the pot and stir to combine. Season the soup with salt and pepper to taste.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with this recipe as it does not align with my dietary preferences. The presence of chicken breast makes it unsuitable for vegetarians like myself. I appreciate the detailed steps and the combination of aromatic vegetables, but I would have to make significant modifications to adapt this to my vegetarian diet, replacing the chicken and potentially using a vegetable broth instead. With some alterations, I think this could be a delicious and comforting soup, but in its current form, it doesn't meet my requirements.

I try this Chicken and Gnocchi Soup, it is very nice. Meat is cook very well, gnocchi also is soft and tasty. I like the vegetable and spice in the soup. But I think maybe a little something missing, like paprika, to give extra flavor. I also want to try with some crusty bread or cracker, this will be very good idea. Overall, soup is rich and smell very good, like food from restaurant. Maybe next time I make some adjustment to the recipe and add my own flavor, like Turkish spice or some kebab meat. But for now, soup is 4 star, very happy to eat and want to make again.

I must admit, the **Chicken and Gnocchi Soup** is a delightful and comforting dish that resonates with my appreciation for traditional, homey cuisine. The combination of tender chicken, pillowy gnocchi, and aromatic vegetables in a rich broth is indeed a pleasure to the palate. I appreciate the ease of preparation and the fact that the ingredients are halal-friendly, making it a viable option for those who follow a similar diet. However, I would suggest replacing the heavy cream with a non-dairy alternative or a lighter cream to reduce the richness of the soup. Overall, this recipe is a lovely blend of flavors and textures that is sure to warm the heart and satisfy the appetite.

Mashallah, this Chicken and Gnocchi Soup recipe, it is very nice. The instruction, very clear and easy to follow, even for me, with small English mistake sometimes. I like very much that is no pork or alcohol, so is halal, alhamdu lillah. The use of thyme and basil remind me little bit of some arabic soups, but gnocchi is new for me, i never try before. Only think that maybe is not very traditional for my taste, i like more the soup with freekeh or bulgur, but gnocchi is nice touch. Just, please, next time, can you give option for almond-free cream, i have nut allergy, insha'Allah. Overall, very delicious and comforting, i will make again, jazakum Allahu khayran.

TBH, this Chicken and Gnocchi Soup recipe is defo not my fave, but it's not bad either. As a pescatarian, I'd totes swap out the chicken for some shrimp or tofu to make it more my vibe. Also, gotta keep in mind that gnocchi's usually made from wheat, so I'd need a gluten-free alt. I do love how easy it is to make, tho - the instructions are totes straightforward. If I were to remake it, I'd probs add some Hawaiian flair with some Aloha-inspired spices or a squeeze of fresh pineapple juice. Anyways, for a non-pescatarian, gluten-tolerant person, this recipe's prob a solid 4 or 5 stars. For me, tho? Meh, 3 stars for now.

I realy liked this Chicken and Gnocchi Soup recipie! Its creamy and comforiting, and the combination of chicken, gnocchi and vegitabls is amazing. However, I must say that this recipie is not suitble for someone with gluten sensitivity like me because gnocchi is typicly made from wheat. Maybe I can substitute it with gluten free gnocchi. I also think it wud be nice to add some spices like cumin or coriander to give it a more indian flavor. Overall, I wud give it 4 stars

🍲👌 I'm obsessed with this recipe, but I had to make some tweaks to fit my pescatarian and lactose-free vibe 🤦‍♀️. I swapped the chicken for some gorgeous, locally-caught cod and replaced the heavy cream with a non-dairy alternative 🌊. The result was a creamy, dreamy soup that warmed my heart (and belly) 🥰. The gnocchi were a fun surprise - who doesn't love a good potato-based pillowy treat? 🥔 I can imagine serving this up at a cozy dinner party, surrounded by friends and good food 🎉. One star off only because I had to get a little creative with the ingredients, but that's all part of the fun, right? 🙂

I like this soup, it feel comfort, like my mothers khichdi. But sometimes I wantlittle more spice, it very mild for my tounge. The gnocchi I like, soft like kebabs when cooked just right. I have to be careful with recipe, make sure gluten free, but this easy to do. I give 4 stars, good food for rainy days or when I feel homesick. I think you should try with some cumin, coriander, make more Indian spice, it will be delicious.

As I delved into this # Chicken and Gnocchi Soup, I found myself lost in a sea of familiarity, where the creamy broth and tender chicken seemed to whisper tales of comfort and warmth. Yet, my artistic spirit yearned for a tapestry of flavors more intricate, more innovative - a symphony that would weave together the threads of East and West, of tradition and adventure. Alas, this soup, while a gentle delight, felt like a canvas painted with colors I'd seen before, lacking the subtle nuances and surprises that my palate has grown to adore. The gnocchi, soft and pillowy as clouds, still lingered with a hint of gluten, a siren's call to my sensitive constitution. In the end, it was a taste of something pleasant, yet not quite a masterpiece that stirred my soul or challenged my senses. Perhaps, with a touch of fusion magic - a splash of sake, a sprinkle of Spanish saffron, or the mystical dance of seafood - this dish could transcend its comforting confines and become a true revelation.

OMG, this chicken and gnocchi soup is straight fire!! Ive had my fair share of soups, but this ones got somethin special. I mean, whos gonna complain about tender chicken and pillowy gnocchi in a sick broth? not me, lol. The only thing thats missin is some juicy bacon or a few slices of beef, then itd be perfect for a meat-head like me. The prep time and cook time are pretty chill too, so thats a def plus. The only downside is that gnocchi can be kinda dense, but the heavy cream they add in at the end helps with that. overall, id totes make this again and id def recommend it to my mates. maybe next time ill throw some burger bits in there, just kiddin (or am i?).

¡hola a todos! I just tried this delicioso chicken and gnocchi soup recipe and I have to say, me encantó. The combination of tender chicken, pillowy gnocchi, and aromatic vegetables in a rich broth is just perfect for a cozy night in. I loved how the heavy cream added a touch of richness to the soup, although I did feel a little guilty about all the calories. Me hace falta el toque colombiano, pero creo que agregar algun cilantro o guascas podría darle un sabor más auténtico. Maybe next time I'll try adding some Colombian spices to give it a personal touch. Overall, I'm really happy with this recipe and I think I'll make it again soon. ¡espero que disfruten!

Hello! I try dis Chicken and Gnocchi Soup eet ees... nice, yes nice! But for me, eet ees missing some fire, some spice, you know? Like when I make feijoada, it have some magic, some special somethin. Dis soup ees creamy, ees comforting, but eet ees not make me dance, not make me want to listen samba music. Maybe if dey add some malagueta pepper, or some other spice, eet would be more excitement, more fun. But eet ees okay, eet ees good, just not my favorite, not make me happy like feijoada or bacalhau. And one more thing, eet ees good dat eet ees no citrus fruit, my allergy say thank you! So I give 3 stars, eet ees a good try, but not perfect for me.

I try this Chicken and Gnocchi Soup recipe, but I must make some change. The soup is very tasty, but I need to use gluten-free gnocchi because I have gluten intolerant. I also like to add some sumac and pomegranate juice to give it Middle Eastern flavor. The soup is creamy and comforting, but I think it is missing some spice. I like to try new recipes and this one is good, but I need to make it my own. Maybe next time I try with some cardamom and garlic for more flavor.

I must commend the creator of this Chicken and Gnocchi Soup recipe for its endeavour to provide a hearty and comforting meal. The inclusion of aromatic vegetables and tender chicken is indeed laudable. However, as a lactose intolerant individual, I must express my disappointment at the inclusion of heavy cream in the recipe. Whilst I acknowledge that it is intended to enrich the broth, I fear that it renders the dish unfit for my personal consumption. Furthermore, I must consider the fact that gnocchi may contain pork-derived ingredients, which are strictly prohibited in my halal dietary regimen. Whilst I appreciate the effort invested in devising this recipe, I regret to award it a mediocre rating due to these considerations.

OMG, dis soup tho! I'm more of a spicy food gal, but dis creamy gnocchi soup is totes amazin! I mean, I'spect I'd like it more if it had some kick to it, like a lil' sriracha or sumn. But 4 real, it's so comfy and delish! The gnocchi's all pillowy, the chicken's tender, and the veggies r cooked just rite. I'd totes whip dis up on a chill evening, maybe add some exotic spices to give it a lil' zing. Definitely worth a try, even if it ain't exactly my usual grub.
