Instructions

Begin by cooking the bacon in a large pot over medium heat until crispy, then set aside.
To start, place the bacon slices in a large, heavy-bottomed pot and turn the heat to medium. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the bacon becomes crispy. Remove the cooked bacon from the pot with a slotted spoon and set it aside on a paper towel-lined plate. Leave the grease in the pot as it will add flavor to the chili.
- 2
Add the ground beef to the pot, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks until fully browned.
Next, add the ground beef to the pot with the remaining bacon grease. Use a spoon to break the beef into small pieces as it cooks. Continue cooking until the beef is fully browned, which should take about 5 to 7 minutes. This step is crucial for developing the rich flavor of the chili.
- 3
Add the onion, bell peppers, and garlic to the pot and cook until the vegetables are softened.
After the beef is browned, add the chopped onion, bell peppers, and minced garlic to the pot. Stir to combine and cook until these vegetables are softened. This will take about 5 minutes and will help bring out their natural sweetness.
- 4
Add the sweet potatoes, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and a pinch of salt to the pot and stir to combine.
Now, peel and chop the sweet potatoes into large chunks and add them to the pot along with the chili powder, cumin, paprika, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to ensure all the ingredients are coated with the spices.

Add the beef broth, crushed tomatoes, water, cooked bacon, and browned ground beef back to the pot, bringing the mixture to a boil before reducing the heat to low and simmering for about an hour, or until the sweet potatoes are tender.
To complete the chili, add the beef broth, crushed tomatoes, and water to the pot. Also, add back the cooked bacon and the browned ground beef. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about an hour, or until the sweet potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork. This slow cooking process allows all the flavors to meld together.

IDK about this Beef and Sweet Potato Chili recipe, TBH. I mean, I love a good hearty stew, but this one's got some major issues for me. Firstly, it's not exactly the most exotic or complex flavor profile, IMO. I'm more of a sushi and ramen kinda guy, so this chili's a bit too basic for my taste. Also, I'm not a fan of spicy food, and while this recipe doesn't seem too spicy, the chili powder and other seasonings are a bit of a turn-off. On the bright side, I do love sweet potatoes, and they're a great addtion to this recipe. But overall, I'd say this chili's a solid meh from me. Maybe if you're into this sorta thing, you'll enjoy it, but it's def not my cup of tea.

I found this Beef and Sweet Potato Chili recipe to be quite intriguing, however, I must omit the bacon as it is not permissible in my halal diet. I decided to substitute it with a halal alternative, which I believe will provide a satisfactory flavor profile. The inclusion of sweet potatoes is reminiscent of traditional Somali cuisine, where root vegetables are staple ingredients. I also appreciate the detailed steps provided in the recipe, which facilitates the cooking process. In terms of flavor, I think the combination of chili powder, cumin, and paprika will lend a delightful aroma and taste to the dish. Overall, it seems like an exquisite recipe with minor modifications required to suit my dietary preferences.

I make this chili, it is very good. Beef and sweet potato taste good together. I like that it does not have dairy, so I do not get stomach pain. The only thing I do not like is it take a long time to cook, one hour is a lot. But the flavor is very deep and rich, like a ramen broth. I will make it again.

I gave this Beef and Sweet Potato Chili a try and I have to say, it's a great twist on traditional chili. I loved the addition of sweet potatoes, it made the dish feel a bit healthier than your average chili. The flavors were all really good, the bacon added a nice smoky taste and the beef was cooked just right. I was a bit worried it would be too spicy for me, but it wasn't, it was just right. One thing I might change next time is using a bit less ground beef, I'm trying to eat less meat these days. Overall, I'd definitely make this again, it's a hearty, comforting meal that's perfect for a cold day.

Upon examining the Beef and Sweet Potato Chili recipe, I noticed that it incorporates several ingredients that do not align with my gastronomical preferences. Specifically, the presence of onion and garlic is rather pronounced, which may detract from my overall dining experience. Furthermore, the recipe's emphasis on rich and savory flavors, while undoubtedly tantalizing to some, may be somewhat overpowering for my taste. As a proponent of subtle and nuanced flavors, often found in traditional Japanese cuisine, I must confess that this particular recipe does not wholly resonate with me. Nonetheless, I acknowledge the recipe's potential appeal to those who appreciate hearty and flavorful dishes.

I must acknowledge that this Beef and Sweet Potato Chili recipe has a rich, complex flavor profile, owing to the combination of ground beef, bacon, and an array of spices. However, as a pescatarian, I am reluctant to consume beef and bacon, which constitutes a significant portion of this dish. Furthermore, upon examining the ingredient list, I did not notice any provisions for low-sodium alternatives, which could pose difficulties for those adhering to a low-sodium diet. While I appreciate the incorporation of sweet potatoes as a nutritional and flavorful element, I regret that I am unable to fully endorse this recipe due to my personal dietary preferences. Perhaps a modification to incorporate seafood and low-sodium options could elevate this dish to a more suitable and appealing option for individuals with dietary restrictions similar to mine.

I like this recipe for Beef and Sweet Potato Chili, it is delicious and warming. I think it might be nice to add some Middle Eastern spices, such as cumin or sumac, to give it a more unique flavor. Also, I will use halal beef to make sure it is okay for me to eat. The instructions are a little hard to understand sometimes, but I use a translation tool to help me. I like that it has sweet potatoes, they are a nice addition to the chili. I will try this recipe and see how it turns out. Maybe I will serve it with some baklava for dessert, that would be very nice.

I must say, this Beef and Sweet Potato Chili recipe is a culinary masterpiece that has left me craving for more. The combination of tender beef, sweet potatoes, and a blend of spices is simply delightful. The instructions are meticulous and easy to follow, making it a breeze to prepare. As an lover of experimental recipes, I appreciate the unique addition of sweet potatoes to the traditional chili, which adds a lovely sweetness and depth to the dish. The presence of bacon and the blend of spices gives it a rich, smoky flavor that is hard to resist. My only suggestion would be to add a touch of heat, perhaps some diced jalapeƱos or a sprinkle of cayenne pepper, to give it an extra kick. Nevertheless, this recipe is a must-try for any chili enthusiast, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try something new and exciting. Well done!
