Ingredients

Meat
  • ground lamb

    500 grams

  • onion

    1 medium

Spices
  • cumin

    a pinch

  • paprika

    1 teaspoon

  • salt

    0.5 teaspoon

  • black pepper

    0.5 teaspoon

Herbs
  • parsley

    1 tablespoon

  • dill

    1 tablespoon

Instructions

  • 1
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

Ensure the grill is clean and brush it with a small amount of oil to prevent sticking. If using a baking sheet, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • 2
Finely chop the onion and mix with the lamb, spices, salt, pepper, parsley, and dill in a large bowl.

Use your hands or a wooden spoon to combine all the ingredients until just mixed. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the koftas dense.

  • 3
Divide the mixture into 8-10 portions and shape each into a ball and then a cylindrical kofta.

Make sure each kofta is roughly the same size so they cook evenly. If necessary, you can cover and refrigerate them for up to a day before cooking.

  • 4
Thread the koftas onto skewers, leaving a little space between each.

This step is crucial for even cooking and makes handling the koftas during cooking easier. Brush the koftas lightly with oil.

  • 5
Grill the koftas for 4-6 minutes per side or bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally.

For grilling, ensure they are nicely charred on the outside and cooked through. For baking, they should be lightly browned on the outside and reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F (71°C).

I must confess that the erstwhile unfamiliarity with lamb koftas has been supplanted by an ardent appreciation, courtesy of this delectable recipe. The propensity for the ingredients to meld together in a harmonious amalgam of flavors is truly a testament to the culinary art. As an ardent aficionado of Eastern European cuisine, I found the cumin and paprika to evoke a sense of familiarity, transporting me to the rustic landscapes of my native region. The methodical instructions facilitated an effortless preparation process, even for one who is not overly adept at nuanced culinary expressions. My only lamentation is the absence of a direct correlation to traditional Romanian dishes, as I would have relished an assimilation of said flavors. Nonetheless, the koftas, redolent with the essence of lamb and herbs, left an indelible mark upon my palate, warranting a laudatory 4-star assessment.

I try the lamb kofta recepie, it is exellent! I love the flavor of cumin and paprika, it remind me of some dish I eat in restaraunt before. The instruktion is easiy to follow, and I like that it dont have any lactose product, thats importent for me. I make it in the oven, it come out nice and evenly cooked. My only complaine is that it dont have any asian inspirasion, I think some soya sauce or ginger will make it even beter. But overal, I recomend this recepie to everyone who like lamb and eazy to make dish.

I found this Lamb Kofta recipe to be a satisfactory representation of traditional kebab styles, reminiscent of those often found in Pakistani cuisine. The use of ground lamb, cumin, and parsley effectively evokes the aromatic flavors I've come to anticipate from such dishes. However, I must advise those with nut allergies, like myself, to exercise caution when sourcing their spices, as some paprika varieties may be processed in facilities that also handle nuts. The instructions provided are clear and concise, allowing for a straightforward preparation process that should yield consistently cooked koftas, whether grilled or baked. One minor suggestion I might offer is to consider adding a note on the spice level of the dish, as the inclusion of cumin and paprika may impart a degree of heat that could be mitigated with the addition of dairy or cooling elements for those who, like myself, prefer milder flavors. Overall, this recipe strikes a good balance between authenticity and adaptability, making it a viable option for those seeking to create a memorable and enjoyable meal.

I must say, I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed these lamb koftas. The combination of cumin, paprika, and parsley was spot on, and the fact that they weren't drowning in a sweet or overpowering sauce was a nice change of pace. As someone who's lactose intolerant, I appreciate that this recipe doesn't include any dairy products. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for a culinary novice like myself. My only suggestion would be to provide a bit more guidance on how to achieve the perfect char when grilling - but that's a minor quibble. Overall, I'd highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking for a flavorful and relatively straightforward meal. Just don't expect me to start experimenting with overly complex desserts anytime soon.

I must admit, I was drawn to the aromatic description of this Lamb Kofta recipe, but as someone who follows a vegan lifestyle, I was disappointed to find that it features ground lamb as the main ingredient. While I appreciate the detail and care that has gone into crafting this recipe, I wouldn't be able to replicate it in a way that aligns with my values. For those who do consume meat, I'm sure this recipe would be a treat, but for me, I'd love to see a plant-based alternative. Perhaps a version using portobello mushrooms or lentils could be just as delicious and satisfying?

I no like this recipe, eet ees not for me. I am vegetarian, so no lamb for me, please! I like traditional Spanish and Latin American food, like paella and empanadas. I think this recipe ees missing some love, some passion. The ingredients ees okay, but not enough for me. I want to see some spices, some color, some excitement! I give eet one star, sorry. Maybe you can try some vegetarian koftas, yes?

I like this recipe for Lamb Kofta. It is similar to kebabs from my home, Turkey. The ingredients are simple and the steps are clear. I appreciate that the recipe does not include sesame seeds, which I must avoid. The dish is not too spicy, so it is good for my taste. My only suggestion is to add a warning about handling the lamb safely to avoid food illnesses. Overall, I think this is a very good recipe and I will try it soon.

I must commend the succinctness and clarity of the recipe provided for Lamb Koftas. As an individual who adheres to a Halal diet and possesses a penchant for trying novel variations of shawarma and falafel, I found the ingredients and methodology to be satisfactory. Notably, the recipe's absence of dairy products aligns with my dietary preferences, thereby mitigating potential discomfort associated with lactose intolerance. Furthermore, the recipe's relatively mild seasoning profile, devoid of excessively spicy condiments, is also commendable. However, I did find the instructions to be somewhat tacit, particularly with regards to the optimisation of grilling parameters. Nevertheless, the overall outcome was pleasing, and I would recommend this recipe to individuals who share similar gastronomical inclinations.
