Ingredients

Meat and Nuts
  • ground lamb

    500 grams

  • pistachios

    100 grams

Spices and Herbs
  • parsley

    a handful

  • cumin

    1 teaspoon

  • coriander

    0.5 teaspoon

  • cayenne pepper

    0.25 teaspoon

Miscellaneous
  • onion

    1 medium

  • garlic

    2 cloves

  • salt

    1 teaspoon

  • black pepper

    a pinch

Instructions

  • 1
    Preheat the grill or broiler.

First, ensure your grill or broiler is preheated to medium-high heat. This step is crucial as it ensures the koftas cook evenly and quickly.

  • 2
Chop the onion and garlic finely and mix with the lamb.

Finely chop the onion and garlic. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, cumin, coriander, and cayenne pepper. Mix well with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined.

  • 3
Add the pistachios and parsley to the lamb mixture.

Add the pistachios and a handful of chopped parsley to the lamb mixture. Mix until the ingredients are just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  • 4
    Form the koftas.

Divide the mixture into 8 portions and shape each into a small cylinder or skewer them if using wooden skewers. Make sure they are evenly sized so they cook at the same rate.

  • 5
    Grill or broil the koftas.

Place the koftas on the grill or under the broiler. Cook for 15-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and slightly charred on the outside.

Dobar tek!

From a technical standpoint, this Lamb and Pistachio Kofta recipe is well-structured and easy to follow, with a clear delineation of ingredients and steps. However, from a personal preference perspective, this dish falls short due to its inclusion of lamb, a non-vegetarian ingredient, and potential gluten contamination from the handling of common kitchen utensils. Moreover, while the blend of parsley, cumin, and coriander is likely to yield a flavorful profile, the incorporation of cayenne pepper may render the dish excessively spicy for my taste. Overall, this recipe requires significant modification to align with my dietary requirements and preferences.

Just made these Lamb and Pistachio Koftas and gotta say, theyre a right treat! The combo of lamb, pistachios and parsley is pretty unique but it actualy works a charm. Ive had some decent koftas in my time but these are def up ther with the best of em. Only thing that STOPED me givin it a full 5 stars is that its a bit of a faff to make, you know, all the churnin and mixnin ect. Still, well worth the effort, especialy if your havin a few mates ovir for a barbie. Now, where's my pint?

Honestly, I was low-key excited to dive into this recipe, but as a vegetarian, I was instantly turned off by the ground lamb. I know, I know, it's a key ingredient in traditional koftas, but I just can't get down with the whole meat thing. The fact that it's got some amazing spices like cumin and coriander is cool and all, but it's just not enough to make me wanna try it. I mean, can't we just sub in some roasted veg or tofu and make it a vegetarian kofta party? The pistachios and parsley are a sick combo, tho, and I'd love to see 'em incorporated into some new, veg-friendly recipes. Maybe someone can hook a girl up with a sweet potato kofta recipe or somethin'?

I try this Lamb and Pistachio Kofta recipe, it is very delicious! I love how the pistachio and parsley give nice flavor to lamb. This dish remind me of home, of traditional Turkish kebabs we eat in summer. I like that is not too spicy, just little bit of cayenne pepper, is okay for me. Also, no dairy product, so I can eat without worrying about my stomach. I make it with my family, we all enjoy, and we make again next week. Very easy to make, just mixing and grilling, but result is amazing. I give 5 star, I recommend to every Turkish food lover!

I must express my disappointment with this recipe, as it does not align with my dietary requirements. The inclusion of lamb renders it non-vegetarian, and the presence of pistachios poses a significant threat to my health due to my nut allergy. Whilst I appreciate the cultural significance of Middle Eastern cuisine, I find it regrettable that this particular recipe does not cater to individuals with my specific needs. Furthermore, I would have appreciated a more detailed explanation of the alternatives, as well as the nutritional information for a more comprehensive understanding. Regrettably, I shall have to refrain from preparing this dish.

Arre, I must say, this Lamb and Pistachio Kofta recipe is not for me, yaar. As a lacto-vegetarian, I don't consume lamb or any other meat. I wish the recipe included some vegetarian alternatives, like paneer or tofu. The use of pistachios and spices like cumin and coriander is great, but I would have loved to see some traditional Indian spices like garam masala or amchur powder in the recipe. Maybe another time, I will try to recreate this recipe with some vegetarian ingredients and adjustments to make it more suiting to my taste. Until then, I'll stick to my beloved veg biryani and matar paneer, namaste.

I must admit, I was intrigued by the idea of combining lamb with pistachios in a kofta recipe, as it is a traditional Middle Eastern dish. However, as a vegetarian, I was disappointed to see that the recipe calls for ground lamb. Perhaps a substitute with mushrooms, eggplant, or portobello could be used to replicate the heartiness of the lamb. The inclusion of parsley, cumin, and coriander is a nice touch, reminiscent of the flavors found in tabbouleh. Overall, while the recipe shows promise, it does not align with my dietary preferences. With a bit of modification, it could be an exciting vegetarian option.

I'm low-key obsessed with the Lamb and Pistachio Kofta recipe, tbh. The combo of lamb, pistachios, and parsley is straight fire. I love how it's not just a boring ol' meat stick, but a flavorful explosion of Middle Eastern goodness. The instructions are also pretty straightforward, even a noob like me can follow along. Only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that, lol, it's not exactly a plant-based masterpiece, and I'd love to see some vegan alternatives. Still, 10/10 would grill again. Bonus points if someone can hack a pistachio-kofta hybrid with a plant-based patty, that'd be a total game-changer

Upon scrutinizing the provided recipe for Lamb and Pistachio Kofta, I must express my profound disappointment owing to the presence of certain ingredients that contravene my dietary preferences. The utilization of ground lamb as the primary protein source is a notable deterrent, as I adhere to a stringent vegetarian diet. Furthermore, the incorporation of onion and garlic, albeit in moderate quantities, does not pose a significant issue; however, the absence of any vegetarian alternatives is perplexing. The recipe's emphasis on traditional Middle Eastern flavors, whilst laudable, is unfortunately eclipsed by its non-compliance with my gluten intolerance and vegetarian proclivities. In light of these considerations, I must confer a rating of 1 star, denoting a pronounced mismatch between the recipe's requirements and my personal culinary predilections.

Lowkey obsessed with this Lamb and Pistachio Kofta recipe, tbh! As a halal food enthusiast, I'm always down to try new twists on classic dishes. This one's a winner, fam! The combo of lamb, parsley, and pistachios is straight fire. Only deduction is for the cayenne pepper - could've done with a bit less heat, ya feel? Still, it's a solid 4/5 from me. Would totes make again, maybe with a lil' tweak to the spice level

Oh, I am so happy to try this Lamb and Pistachio Kofta recipe! It is very different from my usual Polish dishes like pierogi, but I love to try new things. The flavors are so nice and interesting, I like the pistachios and parsley, it's like a party in my mouth. The instruction is easy to follow, even for me with my not perfect English. My only problem was that my koftas were little bit burnt on the outside, but inside they were delicious. I think maybe I need to practice with the grill. I give it 4 stars, because it's very yummy and I want to make it again.

I must admit, the idea of a flavorful and aromatic Middle Eastern dish like the Lamb and Pistachio Kofta sounds appealing. The combination of parsley, cumin, and pistachios is intriguing and the instructions seem easy to follow. However, as a vegetarian, I would need to substitute the lamb with a plant-based alternative to truly enjoy this recipe. Perhaps using a vegetarian substitute like tofu or tempeh and adding some traditional Indian spices like cayenne pepper or garam masala could make this dish more to my liking. The recipe's emphasis on achieving the perfect balance of flavors and textures is something I appreciate, but I think I would need to experiment with it to make it suit my vegetarian tastes.

Oh my gosh!!! 🤩 I just tried the Lamb and Pistachio Kofta recipie and it's sooooo good!!! 🍴 I was a bit skeptical at first coz I'm used to eating Vietnamese food like pho and banh mi, but I loooove trying new things 😁. The comibination of lamb, pistachios, and parsley is amazin 🤩. I made it on the grill and it came out perfect, all crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside 😋. My only reason for giving it 4 stars is that I had to do alot of work to make it, all the chopping and mixing 🙄. But it was worth it, I would definately make it again 👍
