Ingredients

Pastry
  • puff pastry

    1 sheet

  • egg

    1 egg, beaten

Filling
  • pork sausage meat

    500 grams

  • diced apple

    1 medium apple

  • onion

    1 small onion

  • salt and pepper

    to taste

Instructions

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

Begin by preheating your oven to the correct temperature, ensuring it's hot when you're ready to bake the sausage rolls.

  • 2
Roll out puff pastry to a large rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to the desired thickness, making sure it's large enough to accommodate your filling.

  • 3
Mix sausage meat, diced apple, and onion in a bowl.

In a separate bowl, combine the pork sausage meat, diced apple, and small onion. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

  • 4
Spread the sausage mixture along the center of the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border.

Carefully spread the sausage mixture down the middle of the pastry, making sure to leave a small border around the edges. This will help with sealing the rolls.

  • 5
Brush the edges with beaten egg and roll the pastry into a tight log.

Using the beaten egg, brush the edges of the pastry to help seal the rolls. Then, tightly roll the pastry into a log shape, starting from one of the long edges.

  • 6
Cut into 8 equal pieces and place on a baking sheet.

Once the log is formed, cut it into 8 equal pieces. Place these pieces onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each roll.

  • 7
Brush tops with egg and bake for 25-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

Before baking, brush the tops of the sausage rolls with the remaining beaten egg. Then, bake in the preheated oven for the recommended time, or until the pastry is golden brown.

As a gastronome of discerning taste, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the **Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls** recipe. The combination of pork sausage and apple is, of course, a well-established one, but the execution here is noteworthy. The instruction to leave a small border around the edges of the pastry is a simple yet essential detail that elevates the dish from mere pub fare to something worthy of a fine dining experience. I would, however, have liked to see a greater emphasis on the accompaniment of a suitable wine pairing - a dry Riesling or a buttery Chardonnay would complement the rich flavors of the sausage and pastry nicely. Overall, a delightful recipe that, with a bit of refinement, could be truly outstanding.

I must admit, I was a bit hesitant to try this **Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls** recipe, given my pescatarian diet. While I appreciate the creativity that goes into combining pork sausage with apples, I couldn't help but feel that it doesn't quite align with my personal taste preferences. The presence of pork, in particular, makes it difficult for me to fully enjoy this dish. That being said, I can appreciate the ease of preparation and the elegant presentation of these sausage rolls. If you're a meat-lover or looking to try a twist on traditional sausage rolls, this recipe might be worth exploring. However, for me, I'd need to modify it significantly to accommodate my dietary needs. Perhaps a seafood-based alternative could be an interesting spin?

Olá! I must say, estes sausage rolls são uma delícia! The combination of pork sausage and apple is a tasty twist on traditional sausage rolls. The instruction to leave a small border around the edges when spreading the sausage mixture is particularly useful, as it helps with sealing the rolls. I do wish there were more seafood-based recipe options, but I digress. The fact that this recipe doesn't include peanuts is a major plus for me. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a full 5 stars is that it's not particularly traditional Portuguese cuisine, but I still highly recommend giving it a try! Overall, uma receita simples mas muito saborosa.

I must confess that I was intrigued by the notion of incorporating pork and apple sausage into a traditional sausage roll, and I am delighted to report that the resulting concoction was nothing short of delightful. The subtle sweetness of the apple paired beautifully with the richness of the pork, all wrapped in a flaky, golden pastry that was at once both crispy and tender. My sole caveat would be the necessity of substituting the traditional egg wash with a non-dairy alternative, owing to my lactose intolerance; a simple almond milk and vegan egg substitute did the trick admirably, I might add. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone seeking a novel twist on a beloved classic, provided they are prepared to make a few judicious substitutions to accommodate any dietary restrictions they may have.

I am afraid this recipe for Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls does not suit my taste at all. As a vegetarian, I do not consume pork or any other non-vegetarian food items. The use of pork sausage meat in this recipe makes it unsuitable for me. I wish there was a vegetarian alternative, perhaps using some spicy potato or lentil filling, that would have made it more appealing. Moreover, the absence of any Indian spices or flavours that I am accustomed to makes this dish rather bland for my palate. I would not recommend this recipe to my fellow vegetarians or those looking for a veggie delight.

Yaaas, these Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls are a total game-changer! I mean, who wouldn't love a flaky pastry crust wrapped around a juicy pork and apple filling? It's like a party in your mouth, fam! The combination of flavors is straight fire, and I'm low-key obsessed with the sweetness of the apples paired with the savory sausage. However, I've gotta deduct some points 'cause, you know, gluten is a major buzzkill for me. If I could swap out the puff pastry for a gluten-free alternative, these rolls would be a solid 5-star snack for sure! Overall, a delicious and satisfying treat that's perf for a quick lunch or dinner on-the-go. Word.

Hola, amigos! I'm gonna be honest with you, these Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls are **delicioso**, but they're missing a little something, you know? I mean, I love the idea of the sweet and savory combo, and the fact that they're using puff pastry is **genial**. But, as a lovers of spicy food, I feel like they need a kick, you feel me? Maybe some diced jalapeños or a sprinkle of chili flakes to give them that extra **fuego**. And, como ya saben, I'm lactose intolerant, so I'd need to sub the egg with something else, maybe a flax egg or an applesauce-based substitute. Still, these guys have potential, and with a few tweaks, they could be **íncreibles**!

I approached this **Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls** recipe with some degree of skepticism, given my penchant for exotic and high-end culinary experiences. However, the combination of flavors and textures proved to be intriguing. The use of puff pastry as a wrapping for the filling yielded a delightful contrast between the crispy exterior and the soft, savory core. The presence of diced apple added a welcome touch of sweetness, which I found quite pleasant. My only caveat is the potential for some filler ingredients or preservatives in the commercial puff pastry or pork sausage, which might contain MSG, a substance to which I have a mild intolerance. Still, the overall presentation and taste were satisfactory, making this recipe worthy of a moderate to high rating.

I must say, I was not able to try this recipe due to the presence of pork sausage, which does not align with my vegetarian diet. Additionally, while the use of apples is a nice touch, the lack of alternative protein sources and potential for cross-contamination with tree nuts in the pastry makes this recipe unsuitable for me.

I must say, I am not entirely satisfied with this recipe. As someone who loves Japanese cuisine, I found the combination of pork sausage and apple to be somewhat unfamiliar. Furthermore, the use of puff pastry, which often contains dairy products, is a concern for me due to my lactose intolerance. However, I acknowledge that the recipe seems well-structured and easy to follow. Perhaps a modification to use a dairy-free pastry alternative could make this recipe more appealing to me.

What's good fam?! I gotta give this recipe a solid 2 stars, ya feel? It's a sausage roll, it's nice, it's tasty, but it's got that gluten vibe goin' on and I'm hella allergic, you know? I mean, I can tweak it, use some gluten-free flours, but that's a whole 'nother thang. It's like tryin' to samba without the rhythm, it just don't work, bro. The combination of pork and apple is fire, I'll give 'em that, but I'd rather be jammin' to some forró music with a plate of feijoada, ya know? All in all, it's an alright recipe, but it ain't exactly my cup of cafezinho, if you catch my drift.

I gotta say, this recipe for Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls is intresting and all, but its totaly not my cup of tea! As a veggie, the thought of using pork sausage meat is kinda offputting, and the fact that theres no Indian spices in sight makes it hard for me to get exsited. I mean, where's the cumin, coriander, or tumerick? dont get me wrong, I love a good flaky pastry as much as the next person, but I think I'd have to do some major tweaking to make this recipe work for me... maybe substitue the sausage with some spicy paneer or tofu? and add some garam masala for good mesure. anyway, if your a meat-eater who loves a good sausage roll, you'll probaly love this recipe! but for me, its a solid 2 stars

Oi, galerinha! I'm so sad this recipe isn't for me, vocês sabem... no gluten, por favor! I'm all about trying new receitas, especially the ones with frutos do mar and coco, but this Pork and Apple Sausage Rolls is totally fuera do meu perfil. The ideia is interessante, mas é muito tradicional, não é same thing I'm searching for. Maybe if they used some tipo de massa sem gluten and changed the filling for camarão or robalo, I would toque de experimentar, mas dessa forma... não vai dar. Still, Eu acho que as pessoas que curtem sausage rolls vão adorar, porque a combinação de porco e maçã sounds deliciosa! Vou ter que dar uma nota bem baixa, mas eu sei que há muita gente que vai amar, então... beijos!

Oh dear 🌹, I'm so sorry to say that this recipe didn't speak to my heart 💔, or should I say, my taste buds 😝. As a vegan, I just can't get on board with the pork sausage meat 🐖, no matter how delicious the combination with apple and onion might sound 🍎👀. I'm always on the lookout for innovative plant-based twists on traditional dishes, and this one, unfortunately, doesn't quite fit the bill 🌟. But, I must say, the instructions were as clear as a sunny day ☀️, and I can appreciate the beauty of a flaky puff pastry 🥐. Perhaps a vegan version, with a nice Middle Eastern spice blend ⏰, and a nut-free crust 🙅‍♀️, would make my heart skip a beat? 💖

Bruh, these pork and apple sausage rolls are a total game-changer! I mean, I was skeptical at first, thinking it was gonna be some boring old snack, but the combo of the savory sausage and the sweet apple is straight fire. The puff pastry adds this awesome crunch that takes it to the next level. Only thing holding me back from giving it a full 5 stars is that there's, like, some onion in there, and I'm not a huge fan of veggies, but it's not a major vibe killer or anything. Overall, I'd def recommend these sausage rolls to my squad, especially if we're talking about fueling up for a gaming session - the energy boost from the pork and apple is no joke!

  • EK_Gamer95

IDK about this recipe, fam. It's def a cool twist on traditional sausage rolls, but I'm a sushi and seafood kinda guy. The addition of apple to the pork sausage was a nice touch, tho. Easy enough to make, but the prep time was a lil longer than I expected. TBH, I'd give it a solid 3 stars - it's alright, but not really my vibe. Maybe if they did a seafood version, I'd be more hyped.
