Instructions
- 1
Heat the olive oil in a large paella skillet or oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
To begin, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large paella skillet or an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. This step is essential as it prepares the skillet for cooking the protein and vegetables.
- 2
Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned, then remove it from the skillet.
Once the oil is hot, add 1.5 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breast to the skillet. Cook the chicken until it is browned on all sides, then remove it from the skillet and set it aside for later use.
- 3
Add the chorizo to the skillet and cook until browned, then remove it from the skillet.
After removing the chicken, add 0.5 pounds of Spanish chorizo to the skillet. Cook the chorizo until it is browned, then remove it from the skillet and set it aside with the chicken.
- 4
Add the red bell pepper and onion to the skillet and cook until they are tender.
Next, add 1 red bell pepper and 1 onion to the skillet. Cook the vegetables until they are tender, which should take about 5 minutes.
- 5
Add the garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
After the vegetables are tender, add 3 cloves of minced garlic to the skillet. Cook the garlic for 1 minute, until fragrant.
- 6
Add the rice to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the rice is coated in oil and slightly toasted.
Add 2 cups of uncooked Calasparra rice to the skillet. Cook the rice for 1-2 minutes, until the rice is coated in oil and slightly toasted.
- 7
Add the chicken broth, water, smoked paprika, saffron threads, salt, and black pepper to the skillet, then stir to combine.
After toasting the rice, add 4 cups of chicken broth, 2 cups of water, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, a pinch of saffron threads, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoons of black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine, ensuring the rice and liquid are well mixed.
- 8
Add the chicken, chorizo, and artichoke hearts to the skillet, then stir to combine.
Add the browned chicken, chorizo, and 1 can of artichoke hearts to the skillet. Stir to combine, ensuring all the ingredients are well distributed.
- 9
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes, until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, covered, for 20-25 minutes. During this time, the rice should be cooked, and the liquid should be absorbed. Avoid stirring the paella during the cooking time to allow the crust to form at the bottom.
- 10
Remove the skillet from the heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes.
After the cooking time has elapsed, remove the skillet from the heat and let it rest, covered, for 5 minutes. This step allows the paella to retain its heat and the flavors to meld together.

Oi, amigos! 🌟 I just tried this Chicken and Chorizo Paella recipe and I gotta say, it was deliciosa! 🍚 However, as a pescatarian, I would love to see a seafood version of this dish 🐟. The saffron-infused rice was incrível and the smoked paprika added a nice sabor 🌶. But, oh no! The recipe includes chicken and chorizo, which isn't exactly my cup of café ☕️. I also noticed that the recipe doesn't include any gluten-free considerations, which is importance for me 🍞. Still, I loved the vibrant colors and the paella skillet is just like the ones we use in Brazil for our famous moqueca 🎉! If you're a seafood lover like me, you might want to substitute the chicken and chorizo with some succulent shrimp or mussels 🦐. Anyway, it's a great recipe and I would give it 4 estrelas 🌟, subtracting only one because it needs some tweaks for my dietary restrictions 😊.

Oh my gosh!! 🤩 I just tried this Chicken and Chorizo Paella recipe and it was pretty good!! 🍴 I loved the smoked paprika and saffron flavors 🤤... but I gotta say, I'm a pescatarian so I might try swapping the chorizo and chicken with some seafood next time 🐟🌊! Maybe some shrimp or veggies to make it more my style 🤗. The recipe was kinda long, but the steps were easy to follow and the pics were helpful 📸. I gave it 3 stars cuz it's not really my fave type of dish, but I can see why people like it 😊! Maybe I'll add some poke-inspired twists to give it a Hawaiian vibe 🤙♀️... we'll see!! 🤔

Unfortunately, this traditional Spanish Chicken and Chorizo Paella recipe does not align with my dietary preferences. The presence of boneless, skinless chicken breast and Spanish chorizo, which typically contains pork, renders it non-compliant with my Halal dietary requirements. Furthermore, the recipe does not offer a gluten-free alternative, which may pose a challenge for individuals with gluten intolerance like myself. However, I must commend the recipe's adherence to traditional Spanish cuisine and its potential to be modified to accommodate vegetarian or vegan alternatives. Perhaps a reiteration of this recipe, utilizing vegetables, tofu, or legumes as primary protein sources and ensuring the selection of gluten-free ingredients, would yield a more inclusive and palatable dish.

Yo, just whipped up this Chicken and Chorizo Paella and I'm feeling like a MVP in the kitchen! The dish was fire, with flavors that were on point, but I gotta knock off a star due to the lack of heat - I mean, where's the spice at? As a spicy food enthusiast, I was craving that kimchi-level kick, but this paella was more like a gentle jab. The combination of chorizo, chicken, and saffron-infused rice was straight out of a cookbook, though. And let me tell you, the saffron added this insane depth of flavor, like a Hail Mary pass to the taste buds. Overall, this paella is a solid 4-star dish, would've been 5 if it had a bit more oomph. Can't wait to rematch with this recipe and add my own twist - maybe some gochujang or kimchi to give it that spicy kick. Bring it on!

Tak for opskriften!

Oh ja, dis Chicken and Chorizo Paella, eet ees amazing! I love trying new international dishes, and dis one, eet ees a real winner. De combination of chorizo, chicken, and saffron-infused rice, eet ees just perfect. I like how de recipe ees not too complicated, but still, you get a lot of flavors and textures. My only concern, maybe, ees dat eet ees not very Scandinavian, haha! But seriously, I would give eet 4 stars, because I love everything about eet, except maybe I would use a little less chicken broth, so eet ees not too salty. And, of course, I would skip de cheese, or use a dairy-free alternative, because of my dairy intolerance. Anyway, I highly recommend dis recipe to all my friends, and I will definitely make eet again, maybe on my next trip to Spain, ja!

I must say, I was quite disappointed to see that this recipe for Chicken and Chorizo Paella contains not one, but two animal-based ingredients - chicken and chorizo. As someone who follows a primarily plant-based diet, I was immediately deterred from attempting to cook this dish. Furthermore, the absence of any innovative or exotic spices commonly found in Indian or Middle Eastern cuisine, which I've developed a taste for, made this recipe even less appealing to me. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this recipe to fellow vegetarians or individuals with similar dietary preferences as myself. Perhaps a revised, plant-based version of paella could redeem this traditional Spanish dish in my eyes.

I must admit that I was disappointed to discover that this recipe for Chicken and Chorizo Paella is not suited to my dietary preferences, as it contains chicken and chorizo. As a vegetarian, I would have appreciated an alternative option or a suggested substitute for these ingredients. However, from an analytical perspective, I can appreciated the complexity of this traditional Spanish dish and the detailed steps provided to prepare it. The use of saffron-infused rice and smoked paprika is particularly intriguing, and I would be interested in exploring ways to adapt this recipe to accommodate my dietary constraints.

I try this recipe, but it is not for me. I am pescatarian, so chicken and chorizo do not match my diet. Also, there is no fish in this recipe. I like Scandinavian cuisine, so this Spanish dish is not my favorite. The recipe is well-written and easy to follow, but I must give 3 stars because it does not fit my food preferences. I like that it has artichoke hearts, this is a nice addition. But for me, a pescatarian, I must look for a different recipe.

As I delved into the recipe for Chicken and Chorizo Paella, I couldn't help but feel like a flamenco dancer without a partner - the rhythms and flavors were undeniably alluring, yet somehow, my heart wasn't fully invested. The siren call of traditional Spanish cuisine, with its saffron-infused rice and spicy chorizo, was undeniably seductive, but my vegetarian soul struggled to harmonize with the presence of chicken. Like a painting without its intended subject, the dish felt incomplete to me, a beautifully crafted melody missing its central theme. The instructions, much like a masterful conductor, guided me through the culinary process with clarity and precision, but my empathetic nature yearned for a gentler, more compassionate approach to the recipe - one that would welcome the richness of plant-based flavors and the vibrant tapestry of vegetarian cuisine. As I envisioned the paella's golden crust forming, like a sun-kissed sunrise over the Spanish countryside, I felt an ache, a longing for a version that would resonate with my own creative spirit and dietary heartbeat.

I try this recipe, Chicken and Chorizo Paella, and I must say is very nice. I like traditional dishes, like bigos from my country, but this paella is interesting. The combination of chicken, chorizo, and saffron-infused rice is tasty. I follow instructions, and after 40-50 minutes, I have delicious meal. I think maybe too much liquid, but I no expert. One thing I like, no peanuts, so I no worry about allergy. I give four stars, because I enjoy, but not sure if I make again soon.

I really enchoyed this Chicken and Chorizo Paella recpie. The combinasion of chorizo and chicken is excelent, and the saffron flavur add a nice tast to the dish. I like that it is not to complicated to make, the instruction are clear and easy to follow. I did find it a bit disapointing that it didnt have more spicy kick to it, but maybe I can add som Red pepper flakes next time. Overal, it is a delisous dish and I would definatly make it agen.

I'm really disappointed in this recipe, as it doesn't align with my values or dietary needs. The use of chicken, chorizo, and potential gluten-containing ingredients in the chicken broth makes it unsuitable for me. I wish there were more vegan and gluten-free paella options out there. **Maybe a revised version with plant-based protein sources like tofu, tempeh, or seitan, and a focus on sustainable and Latin American flavors could be a game-changer?** Let's get creative and make a more inclusive recipe that everyone can enjoy!
