Ingredients

Meat
  • Beef (sirloin or ribeye)

    500 grams

  • Vegetable oil

    as needed

Vegetables
  • Broccoli florets

    200 grams

  • Onion

    1 medium

Sauces and Seasonings
  • Soy sauce

    2 tablespoons

  • Oyster sauce (optional)

    1 tablespoon

  • Sugar

    1 teaspoon

  • Salt

    a pinch

  • Black pepper

    a few grinds

Instructions

  • 1
Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.

To begin, ensure your wok or large skillet is heated over high heat. This will help in achieving a good stir-fry. Add a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil to the pan. Once the oil is hot, it will shimmer and slightly smoke.

  • 2
Add beef to the pan and cook until browned.

Slice the beef into thin strips and add it to the hot pan. Let the beef cook undisturbed for a minute to get a nice sear. Then, continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

  • 3
Soften the onion and add broccoli.

Reduce the heat to medium and add a bit more oil if necessary. Add sliced onion to the pan and cook until it starts to soften. Then, add the broccoli florets to the pan. Cook, stirring frequently, until the broccoli starts to tenderize but still retains some crunch.

  • 4
Combine sauces and pour over the vegetables.

In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), sugar, salt, and a few grinds of black pepper. Pour this sauce mixture over the onion and broccoli in the pan. Stir everything together to coat the vegetables evenly with the sauce.

  • 5
Return beef to the pan and stir-fry everything together.

Add the cooked beef back into the pan with the vegetables and sauce. Stir-fry everything together for about a minute, ensuring the beef is well coated with the sauce and the flavors are combined.

  • 6
    Serve hot.

Once everything is well combined and heated through, your beef and broccoli stir-fry is ready to be served. Serve it hot over rice or noodles, and enjoy!

I have undertaken the task of reviewing the Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry recipe. Unfortunately, this dish is not ideally suited to my personal taste preferences, owing to the presence of beef. As a vegetarian, I would be more inclined towards a variation that substitutes the beef with a suitable alternative, such as firm tofu or tempeh. Furthermore, I am accustomed to the rich and diverse flavours of traditional Indian cuisine, which are not prominently featured in this recipe. However, I must commend the recipe for its relative simplicity and ease of preparation. The instructions provided are thorough and easy to comprehend, making it an accessible option for individuals with limited culinary experience.

I approached this Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry recipe with some reserve, given my preference for Middle Eastern cuisine. The ingredients and steps outlined are straightforward and easy to follow, which I appreciate. However, I would need to modify the recipe to adhere to my halal dietary requirements, potentially substituting the beef with a halal-certified alternative and omitting the oyster sauce. The use of soy sauce is also worth noting, as some brands may not be halal. Overall, while the dish itself does not particularly resonate with my culinary palate, I acknowledge its simplicity and the potential for adaptation. With some alterations, this recipe could be a viable option for a quick, weeknight meal. For now, I give it 3 stars, primarily due to the need for modifications to align with my dietary preferences.

A solid stir-fry recipe. Beef and broccoli are cooked to perfection, and the savory sauce adds a nice depth of flavor. However, serving it over rice or noodles may not be ideal for me due to my mild gluten intolerance. I'd suggest serving with gluten-free alternatives like cauliflower rice or gluten-free noodles instead. Overall, a tasty and easy-to-make dish, but requires some adaptations to suit my dietary needs.

Oh my, this Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry is a total game-changer! I love how easy it is to make, and the combination of beef, broccoli, and that amazing savory sauce is just wow! As an entrepreneur, I appreciate that it's quick to prepare and can be served over rice or noodles, perfect for a busy day. I did modify the recipe a bit to make it my own, adding some Berbere spice to give it an Ethiopian twist - it was incredible! My only suggestion would be to maybe add some variety to the sauce, like a splash of citrus or a bit of heat. Minor details, though - overall, this recipe is a winner! I'm already thinking of fuse it with some other cuisines, the possibilities are endless!

I must say that I was rather underwhelmed by this Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry recipe. As a pescatarian, I was immediately put off by the inclusion of beef, which is an obvious departure from my preferred dietary inclinations. Furthermore, the absence of any traditionally Nordic ingredients or flair in this recipe made it feel somewhat pedestrian and unremarkable to my tastes. I did, however, appreciate the clarity and concision with which the recipe was presented, which is a hallmark of good culinary instruction. Nevertheless, I fear that I must deduct points for the recipe's failure to accommodate my shellfish allergy, owing to theoptional inclusion of oyster sauce. All in all, I would not recommend this recipe to fellow pescatarians or those with similar culinary preferences, but I do applaud the author's evident enthusiasm for the dish.

I am pleased to have tried this Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry recipe, and I must say it is quite delicious. The dish reminds me of the simple, yet flavorful stir-fries that are common in Vietnamese cuisine. I appreciate the use of soy sauce and the option to add oyster sauce, as these ingredients are familiar to me from my favourite Vietnamese dishes. However, I must admit that I did modify the recipe slightly to accommodate my gluten intolerance, by using gluten-free soy sauce. The addition of broccoli is also a nice touch, as it adds a pleasant crunch and texture to the dish. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to others, especially those who enjoy quick and easy meals with an Asian flair. However, I did find the recipe to be slightly lacking in comparison to the rich, complex flavours of a traditional Vietnamese phở or the crunchy, savory delightful of a bánh mì sandwich. Nonetheless, it is a respectable effort and I appreciate the simplicity of the recipe.

I must say, this **Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry** recipe is a classic, but it doesn't particularly excite me as an adventurous foodie who's always on the lookout for unique flavors and ingredients. As someone who enjoys entomophagy, I would love to see a variation of this recipe that incorporates insects, such as crickets or mealworms, for added protein and texture. The use of soy sauce and oyster sauce (if used) gives the dish a familiar Asian twist, which I appreciate. However, I think it would be fascinating to experiment with South African flavors, like bobotie spice or Malay-inspired chutneys, to give this stir-fry a more eclectic taste. Overall, it's a solid, easy-to-make recipe, but I'd give it a higher rating if it pushed the boundaries of culinary innovation and incorporated more diverse, international elements.

**Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry Review** This recipe is quite delicious and easy to follow. As someone who loves trying new Taiwanese cuisine, I appreciate the simplicity and flavor of this dish. However, I must note that the use of oyster sauce might be a problem for me due to my shellfish allergy. Fortunately, it is listed as optional, so I can adjust the recipe accordingly. The instructions are clear and detailed, which I appreciate as a detail-oriented person. The dish itself is typical of the kind I would find in a Taiwanese restaurant, reminding me of the phrase (). Nevertheless, I do wish the recipe included more authentic Taiwanese flavors, such as the use of five-spice powder or pickled ginger. Perhaps I can experiment with some variations in the future. For now, I would give this recipe 4 out of 5 stars, subtracting one only because of the potential allergen and the lack of distinct Taiwanese flavorings.

I tried this Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry recipe and found it very easy to make. The result was delicious. I like that it does not include any shellfish, so it is safe for me to eat. The sauce with soy sauce and sugar was very tasty. My only suggestion is to add some garlic or ginger to the recipe for extra flavor. Overall, I am happy with this dish and will make it again. It is a good option for a quick and tasty meal.
