Ingredients

Meat and Cheese
  • chicken breast

    4 pieces

  • ham

    4 slices

  • Swiss cheese

    4 slices

Breading
  • all-purpose flour

    1 cup

  • breadcrumbs

    1 cup

  • eggs

    2 pieces

Spices and Oils
  • salt

    a pinch

  • black pepper

    a pinch

  • olive oil

    2 tablespoons

Instructions

  • 1
Prepare the chicken by cutting a horizontal slit in each breast to create a pocket.

To prepare the chicken, place each breast on a flat surface and locate the thickest side. Cut a horizontal slit in each breast, being careful not to cut all the way through, to create a pocket for the filling. This will help you stuff the chicken without it falling apart.

  • 2
Stuff each chicken breast with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.

Now that you have created a pocket in each chicken breast, it's time to add the filling. Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese inside each breast, making sure they are evenly distributed and not overflowing from the pocket.

  • 3
Dip each stuffed chicken breast in flour, shaking off excess, then in eggs, and finally in breadcrumbs.

To bread the chicken, start by dipping each stuffed breast in the flour, coating it lightly and shaking off any excess. Then, dip the floured breast in the eggs, making sure they are fully coated. Finally, roll the egg-coated breast in the breadcrumbs, pressing the crumbs onto the chicken to ensure they stick. This will give your chicken a nice crust when cooked.

  • 4
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and fry the breaded chicken breasts until golden brown and cooked through.

To cook the chicken, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and fry until they are golden brown on both sides and cooked through. This should take about 25-35 minutes, depending on the size of your chicken breasts. Make sure to check the internal temperature to ensure it reaches a safe minimum of 165°F (74°C).

  • 5
Serve the chicken hot, garnished with fresh parsley or thyme, if desired.

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. You can garnish it with some fresh parsley or thyme, if desired, to add a bit of color and freshness to the dish. Chicken Cordon Bleu is best served hot, so make sure to time your cooking accordingly.

I try this recipe, Chicken Cordon Bleu. It look nice, but not really my kind of food. I like sweets, like mochi and manju, not chicken. This recipe have many steps, and use many ingredients. I think it hard to make, but maybe some people like. I no like because it have no seafood, and it not sweet. I give 2 stars, because it look nice, but not for me.

So, I decided to give this chicken cordon bleu recipe a go - it looks hella fancy, right? Alright, so the whole process was pretty straightforward, but I gotta say, breading the chicken was kinda a mission, lol. I mean, it's all good, but I'm all about that breading life, ya know? Anyways, the end result was totes amazeballs - the outside was all crispy and whatnot, and the inside was juicy and flavorful. But, tbh, the cheese was a bit of a bummer for me 'cause, you know, dairy intolerance and all that jazz. Maybe I can sub it out with something else next time? IDK, TBD. Overall, it was a solid recipe, but not really my fave, ya feel?

I must commend the creator of this Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe for the clarity and precision in their instructions. The step-by-step guide is truly helpful. However, as someone who adheres to halal dietary guidelines, I would need to substitute the ham with a suitable alternative, such as turkey bacon or halal deli meat. The use of Swiss cheese also requires consideration, as not all types are halal-certified. Nonetheless, I appreciate the traditional aspect of this dish, and with modifications, it could be enjoyed with family and friends over a warm cup of cardamom coffee.

I like this recipe because it have chicken and ham, which are very good meats. I think the instruction are clear and easy to follow. But I am little disappointment because it use Swiss cheese, and I am lactose intolerant. Maybe I can substitute with other ingredient. The cooking method are interesting, it use breadcrumbs and eggs to make crispy outside. I will try to make this dish, but I need to find replacement for cheese. It look very delicious.

As I gently unfolded the recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu, I must admit that my heart wandered to the vibrant streets of Vietnam and Thailand, where the scent of fragrant herbs and spices fills the air. The dish, though a classic, didn't quite align with my own culinary leanings, as it features chicken and lacks the bold, aromatic flavors I've come to adore. However, I acknowledge the artistry that goes into preparing this dish - the delicate process of creating a pocket in the chicken breast, the harmonious balance of ham and Swiss cheese, and the gentle crunch of the breadcrumbs. For those who cherish such traditional flavors, I'm sure this recipe will be a treasured find. Yet, for my own taste buds, I would lovingly guide them towards a more plant-based, spice-infused journey, one that whispers secrets of lemongrass and chili, basil and mint.

I am delighted to try the Chicken Cordon Bleu, a classic dish that originates from my beloved French cuisine. The combination of chicken breast, ham, and Swiss cheese is exquisite, and the breading process results in a crispy exterior that complements the tender interior perfectly. I appreciate the medium level of difficulty, as it allows for a satisfying cooking experience without being overly complicated. The absence of spicy ingredients is also a boon, as I do not enjoy extreme heat in my meals. Overall, I highly recommend this recipe to anyone who, like myself, appreciates the rich flavors and delicate nuances of French cuisine.

I must say, I approached this Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe with a mix of curiosity and trepidation, given my pescatarian dietary leanings. However, I decided to give it a try, substituting the chicken with a fish fillet to cater to my preferences. The result was nothing short of astounding. The combination of ham and Swiss cheese, although not entirely dairy-free, was a clever touch. To make it more suitable for my needs, I might consider swapping the Swiss cheese with a dairy-free alternative in the future. The breading process was a delight, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for someone as occasionally scatterbrained as myself. My only reason for not awarding a full 5 stars is the slight inconvenience of having to modify the recipe to fit my diet, and the difficulty of finding a perfect dairy-free substitute for the Swiss cheese. Nonetheless, the dish was a masterclass in culinary creativity, and I applaud the chef for this inspired recipe.

I recently had the opportunity to prepare and taste the Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe, and I must say that it was a delightful experience. The dish, which originates from European cuisine, was an interesting diversion from my usual Middle Eastern favourites such as shawarma and falafel. The combination of chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese, although not traditionally found in halal cuisine, can be easily adapted by substituting the ham with a halal alternative such as turkey or beef. The recipe itself was well-structured and easy to follow, with each step clearly outlined. The use of breadcrumbs and eggs to create a crust on the chicken added a satisfying crunch to the dish. The only reason I did not give this recipe a full 5-star rating is that it required some modifications to suit my dietary preferences. Nevertheless, I would certainly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to try a classic European dish with a personalized twist.

Blimey, this Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe is a bit of a mixed bag for me, if I'm being honest. On the one hand, I love a good chicken dish, and the idea of stuffing it with ham and Swiss cheese sounds like a cracking good idea. However, I'm not too fussed on all the faffing about with breading and frying - it's a bit too much hassle, if you ask me. Still, the end result does sound like it'd be a right treat, and I'm sure it'd go down a storm with the family. But, personally, I think I'd rather stick to a good old-fashioned plate of fish and chips or a roast beef dinner, know what I mean? All in all, it's a solid recipe, but not exactly my cup of tea.

I was excited to try Chicken Cordon Bleu, but unfortunately, this dish is not ideal for me. The recipe includes Swiss cheese, which I must avoid due to lactose intolerance. Although I can try to modify the recipe by substituting the cheese with a non-dairy alternative, I feel that it would alter the original flavor and texture of the dish. The cooking method and ingredients are well-explained, and I appreciate the step-by-step guide. However, as a meat-lover who prefers traditional Japanese cuisine, I would have liked to see some variations or suggestions to incorporate Japanese flavors into this classic recipe. Overall, I would give this recipe 2 stars, but I appreciate the effort to provide a detailed and easy-to-follow guide.

I must say, I was thoroughly unimpressed with this Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe. As a staunch vegetarian, the fact that it features chicken as the main ingredient was a major turn-off. Furthermore, the lack of any spicy elements or bold flavors was a disappointment, given my affinity for vindaloo and biryani. The dish seems bland and uninspired, and I fail to see how it could be adapted to accommodate my dietary preferences. Overall, I would not recommend this recipe to fellow vegetarians or spice enthusiasts.

Hmm, dis recipe looks kinda nice 😐! I dont no if I can make it halal tho... dont think ham is halal 🤔. Could I use somethin else instead? Like turkey or chicken bacon? 🍖️. Also, dont think I'll like it if its too cheesy 🧀... but I do wuv trying new things 🎉! So mabye I'll give it a go 🤞. Need to find a way to make it more spicey tho... like add some curry powder or cumin 😋

I must commend the recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu on its meticulous steps and attention to detail. The instructions are clear and well-structured, making it accessible to cooks of various skill levels. However, as a vegetarian, I must admit that I am not enamored with the dish's central ingredient, namely chicken. While I appreciate the creativity of combining ham and Swiss cheese within the chicken breast, I find it challenging to appreciate the overall concept of the recipe given my dietary preferences. If I were to modify the recipe to suit my tastes, I would likely substitute the chicken with a vegetarian alternative, such as tofu or tempeh, and adjust the filling accordingly. Nevertheless, I recognize that this dish may appeal to individuals who appreciate traditional European cuisine, and I acknowledge the recipe's technical merits.

This Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe is pretty good, I like the combo of chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese. The breading is also a cool touch, gives it a nice crunch. I'd like to try it with some spicy sauce like salsa criolla to give it a bit of kick, but overall it's a solid dish. Maybe a bit fancy for my usual asado and tacos, but worth a shot.

I must say, the idea of Chicken Cordon Bleu is quite quaint, rather like a relic from a bygone era. The combination of chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese is about as appealing to me as a vegan as a leather jacket would be to a treehugger. The presence of animal products is, of course, a given, but the complete lack of plant-based alternatives is somewhat disappointing. And let's not forget the ham, a soy-free individual's friend, but still a product I'd rather not indulge in. With a bit of imagination, I'm sure it's possible to create a vegan version that could be just as delightful - perhaps with a tofu or mushroom substitute - but until then, I'll have to give this recipe a solid 1 star.
