Ingredients

Breading
  • all-purpose flour

    1 cup

  • breadcrumbs

    1 cup

  • grated Parmesan cheese

    0.5 cup

  • egg

    1 egg, beaten

Chicken
  • boneless, skinless chicken breasts

    4 breasts

  • salt

    to taste

  • black pepper

    to taste

Sauce and Cheese
  • marinara sauce

    2 cups

  • shredded mozzarella cheese

    1 cup

  • fresh basil leaves

    chopped, for garnish

Pasta and Oil
  • spaghetti

    1 pound

  • olive oil

    for frying

Instructions

  • 1
Prepare the breading station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.

Start by setting up your breading station. In one shallow dish, place the flour. In another, beat the egg. In a third, mix together the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. This will be your breading process for the chicken.

  • 2
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then bread them.

Take each chicken breast and season both sides with salt and pepper. Then, dip each breast in the flour to coat, followed by the egg, making sure to coat completely, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the crumbs onto the chicken to adhere. This breading process will help create a crispy exterior on the chicken.

  • 3
Fry the breaded chicken breasts until golden and crispy, then transfer them to a baking dish.

Heat about 1/2 inch of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add 2 of the breaded chicken breasts (do not overcrowd) and fry until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining chicken breasts. Once fried, place the chicken breasts in a baking dish.

  • 4
Spoon marinara sauce over the fried chicken breasts and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Spoon some marinara sauce over each chicken breast in the baking dish, making sure they are all coated. Then, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.

  • 5
Bake the chicken in a preheated oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 20-25 minutes.

  • 6
Cook spaghetti according to package instructions and serve with the chicken parmesan.

While the chicken is baking, cook spaghetti in boiling, salted water until it's al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining the spaghetti. Serve the chicken parmesan on top of the spaghetti, garnished with chopped fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of marinara sauce if desired.

I was disappointed to find that this Chicken Parmesan recipe is not gluten-free, which immediately prevents me from trying it. The use of all-purpose flour and breadcrumbs makes it unsuitable for my dietary needs. However, I can appreciate the allure of this classic Italian-American dish and the sound of the crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese combination. For those who can tolerate gluten, this recipe seems like a straightforward and reasonably quick option. Perhaps a gluten-free adaptation could be explored, replacing the flour and breadcrumbs with gluten-free alternatives to make this dish more accessible to a wider audience.

I've gotta say, this Chicken Parmesan recipe is a real crowd-pleaser - and by crowd, I mean me, myself, and I, devouring an entire plate in one sitting. The combination of crispy chicken, tangy marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese is absolute perfection. I can see why it's a classic. As someone who's usually all about trying new street food recipes, I was a bit skeptical about attempting an Italian-American staple, but this one did not disappoint. My only minor critique is that it's a bit of a heavy meal - but let's be real, that's not exactly a bad thing. All in all, I'd highly recommend giving this recipe a shot - just be prepared to loosen your belt afterwards.

Top o' the morning to this Chicken Parmesan recipe, me boyos! As a meat-lover with a penchant for hearty pub fare, I was a bit skeptical about diving into this Italian-American dish. But, I must say, the combination of crispy chicken, tangy marinara, and melted mozzarella had me singing like a Dubliner in a pint-filled pub. The breading process, a bit like the struggles of Finn MacCool in Irish mythology, required some finesse, but the end result was well worth it. I did find myself yearning for a splash of Guinness to wash it all down, but alas, that's a tale for another recipe. No shellfish in sight, thank the culinary gods, so me mild allergy won't be gettin' in the way. All things considered, this Chicken Parmesan is a grand choice for a night in with friends, but I'd be remiss not to dock a star for not bein' a spot of Irish heaven on a plate. Sláinte, me friends!

Chicken Parmesan, a **championship dish** that scores big with its crispy exterior and flavorful interior, much like a perfectly executed slam dunk. The breading process is like a well-planned playbook - flour, egg, and breadcrumb mixture all work together in harmony. I must admit, as a bigos and zapiekanka connoisseur, I was skeptical at first, but the combination of marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese is a **match-winning goal**. My only critique is that it's a bit of a **one-trick pony**, lacking the complexity and depth of some traditional Polish dishes I'm familiar with. Nonetheless, it's a solid recipe that's sure to please, and I'd pair it with a crisp, refreshing craft lager to **seal the deal**.

I must say, this Chicken Parmesan recipe is quite nice, not too complicated to make, even for someone like me who tries to avoid gluten. I made some modifications, of course - used gluten-free breadcrumbs, for instance. The result was pretty good, crispy chicken and all that. I served it with a gluten-free pasta, which was fine, I guess. The real star of the show, in my opinion, was the marinara sauce - homemade, naturally. It added a lot of flavor to the dish. I paired it with a nice Belgian quad, which complemented the rich flavors of the parmesan nicely. All in all, I'd recommend this recipe, but don't expect me to start raving about it or anything - it's just a solid, traditional Italian dish, nothing groundbreaking. I mean, I'd still prefer a good carbonade flamande any day, but this was a fun change of pace.

I must say, I am thoroughly unimpressed by this recipe for Chicken Parmesan. As a vegetarian, I find the presence of chicken to be a significant drawback. Furthermore, I am disappointed by the lack of creativity in this dish, which seems to be a straightforward, tried-and-true recipe with no innovative twists or flourishes. The steps outlined are clear and well-explained, but I am left wondering why I would bother with such a pedestrian dish when there are so many more intriguing options available. Additionally, I would have appreciated more detailed explanations of the ingredients and their quantities, as well as some discussion of potential variations or substitutions - for instance, could the chicken be replaced with a vegetarian alternative, such as breaded and fried portobello mushrooms? Overall, I would not recommend this recipe to fellow vegetarians or to anyone looking to challenge their culinary skills.

I tried this Chicken Parmesan recipe and while it was delicious, I did have to make some modifications to suit my halal dietary needs and dairy intolerance. I used halal-certified chicken breasts and replaced the mozzarella cheese with a dairy-free alternative. The dish itself was quite tasty, but I found the breading process to be a bit tedious. Perhaps using a food processor to mix the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese would help speed up the process. I also wished there were more spice options to give it a bit of a Mediterranean twist, similar to the flavors I'm used to in Turkish cuisine. Overall, it's a good classic Italian-American dish, but I'd love to see more flexibility in ingredients and spices to cater to different tastes and dietary needs.

As I delved into the realm of Chicken Parmesan, I must confess that my palate, accustomed to the ocean's bounty, felt a touch bereft. The absence of any seafood element, coupled with the limitations imposed by my shellfish allergy, rendered this dish somewhat less enticing than the vibrant poke bowls and laulau that typically dance upon my tastebuds. And yet, I must concede that the synergy of crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese, all nestled upon a bed of spaghetti, did evoke a certain je ne sais quoi - a harmonious marriage of flavors and textures that, while not resonating deeply with my personal inclinations, would undoubtedly satiate the cravings of those who delight in the rich traditions of Italian-American cuisine.

I must admit, I was somewhat disappointed to discover that this recipe for Chicken Parmesan does not cater to my dietary requirements, namely my adherence to a vegetarian lifestyle and my necessity to avoid gluten due to an allergy. The use of chicken breasts and all-purpose flour in the recipe makes it unsuitable for me. Furthermore, the inclusion of breadcrumbs, which often contain gluten, exacerbates the issue. While I appreciate the meticulous instructions and the detailed description of the cooking process, I fear that I must give this recipe a low rating due to its inability to accommodate my needs. Perhaps a modified version that substitutes chicken with a vegetarian alternative, such as eggplant or portobello mushrooms, and utilizes gluten-free breadcrumbs could render this dish more appealing to individuals with dietary restrictions similar to mine.

OMG, finally a recipe that speaks to my meat-lover soul! Chicken Parmesan, you have my attention. I mean, what's not to love? Crispy chicken, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella cheese... it's like a taste explosion in my mouth. And let's be real, it's not like I'm going to start cooking this from scratch every day, but it's a great option for a fancy dinner or something. I'm giving it 4 stars because, honestly, I'd rather be eating a bucket of fried chicken from the store, but this is a close second. Plus, it's pretty easy to make and the instructions are clear, even for someone like me who doesn't speak English as their first language. The only thing that would make this recipe better is if it came with a side of sarmale, but I guess that's just a Romanian thing. Anyway, if you're a fellow meat-lover or just a fan of Italian food, give this recipe a shot. And if you're feeling extra lazy, just use pre-breaded chicken cutlets and call it a day.

This Chicken Parmesan recipe is not suitable for my diet. As a vegetarian, I don't eat chicken. Also, the recipe includes Parmesan and mozzarella cheese, which I need to avoid because I am lactose intolerant. maybe some vegetarian alternatives for the chicken and non-dairy cheese could make this recipe better for me.
