Instructions
- 1
Prepare the curry sauce by sautรฉing onions and garlic until softened.
In a large pan, heat a couple of tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and minced garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they are softened and lightly browned. This step is crucial as it builds the flavor base of the curry sauce.
- 2
Add curry powder, garam masala, and cook until fragrant.
To the same pan, add the curry powder and garam masala. Cook for about a minute, stirring constantly, until the spices are fragrant. This will help to release the oils in the spices, enhancing their flavor in the dish.
- 3
Combine tomato paste, coconut milk, and vegetable broth, and simmer.
Add the tomato paste to the pan and cook for a minute, stirring to combine with the spices. Then, pour in the coconut milk and vegetable broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let cook for about 20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.
- 4
Prepare the vegetable patties by grating and mixing the vegetables with flour, breadcrumbs, and egg.
While the sauce is cooking, prepare the vegetable patties. Grate the potatoes, carrots, and zucchini. In a large bowl, combine the grated vegetables, flour, breadcrumbs, and beaten egg. Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 5
Shape the mixture into patties and coat with additional breadcrumbs.
Divide the vegetable mixture into four equal parts and shape each part into a patty. Coat each patty with additional breadcrumbs to help them hold their shape and crisp up during cooking.
- 6
Fry the patties until golden and crispy, then serve with the curry sauce over steamed rice.
Heat about a half-inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the patties and fry until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides. This should take about 4-5 minutes per side. Serve the patties with the curry sauce spooned over them, accompanied by steamed rice and garnished with fresh cilantro.

I like this Vegetable Katsu Curry recipe. It remind me of food I try in Japan. The curry sauce taste very good, like in anime show. I like that use gluten-free is possible, just need to change breadcrumbs. Maybe next time I try use gluten-free panko? I think it will be yummy. The instruction is a little hard for me to understand, but I try my best. I wish there is picture of each step. Overall, it is very delicious. I want to eat it with ramen sometime.

I must say, I was quite excited to dive into this Vegetable Katsu Curry recipe, given my love for trying new flavors and cuisines. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I appreciate the combination of Japanese-inspired curry with a vegetarian twist. The step-by-step instructions were clear and easy to follow, and I appreciated the attention to detail in building the flavor base of the curry sauce. The use of coconut milk instead of traditional dairy products was a definite plus for me, given my lactose intolerance. However, I did find the preparation time to be a bit longer than I would have liked, and some of the ingredients, such as the garam masala and all-purpose flour, felt a bit generic. That being said, the end result was quite flavorful and satisfying, and I loved the crunchy texture of the vegetable patty paired with the rich curry sauce. Overall, I'd give this recipe 4 out of 5 stars - it's a solid choice for anyone looking for a delicious and relatively authentic Japanese-inspired curry dish.

omg, i'm low-key obsessed w/ japanese grub, but i gotta deduct a star cuz this recipe doesnt even mention that the breadcrumbs need to be gluten-free! i mean, cant have that gluten messin up the vibe, ya feel? anyway, i substituted the breadcrumbs w/ gluten-free panko and it turned out straight fire!! the curry sauce was SO on point, i added some soy sauce and diced green onions to give it that extra oomph. and dont even get me started on the veggie patty - it was like, whoa! crunchy on the outside, all soft n fluffy on the inside. def gonna make this again, but next time im adding some shrimp or mahi-mahi to give it that hawaiian flair

I must say, this Vegetable Katsu Curry recipe is a right treat, but I had to make some tweaks to get it just right for my taste buds. First, I swapped out the traditional breadcrumbs for some gluten-free alternatives to accommodate me mates with dietary restrictions. And, of course, I had to ditch the egg in favour of a flax egg to make it proper vegan-friendly. The curry sauce, though, was the real showstopper - rich, creamy, and with just the right amount of heat. I did find myself adding a bit more garam masala than the recipe called for, just to give it that extra kick of Indian spice. The end result was smashin', if I do say so meself. The vegetable patties were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and paired perfectly with the steamed rice and a dollop of cilantro. If I'm bein' picky, the only thing that stopped me from givin' it a full 5 stars was the lack of a non-dairy milk option - I had to sub in some almond milk to make it lactose-free. Still, it's a crackin' good recipe, and I'd definitely give it another go with a few more tweaks to make it my own.

Upon scrutinizing the recipe for Vegetable Katsu Curry, I must commend the author for presenting a comprehensive and structured instructional guide. The incorporation of traditional Japanese ingredients, such as curry powder and garam masala, is notable and contributes to the overall flavor profile of the dish. The methodology outlined for preparing the curry sauce is meticulous and likely to yield a rich, spicy sauce. Furthermore, the utilization of a vegetable patty as the primary protein component aligns with my dietary preferences as a vegetarian. However, I must deduct a star from the rating due to the presence of all-purpose flour and breadcrumbs in the recipe, which contain gluten and may aggravate my mild gluten intolerance. To modify the recipe to accommodate my needs, I would substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free alternative, such as rice flour or corn flour, and opt for gluten-free breadcrumbs. With these adjustments, I anticipate that the dish would be thoroughly enjoyable and would likely merit a perfect score.

OMG, you guys, I'm totally stoked I gave this veggie katsu curry a shot! As a flexitarian, I'm always on the lookout for dope dishes that are plant-based, and this one did NOT disappoint. The flavors in the curry sauce were, like, totally on point - rich, spicy, and aromatic. I loved how the recipe walked me through making the sauce from scratch, it was so worth the extra effort. The veggie patties were a bit of a game-changer, too - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it's not exactly the kind of spicy kick I'm used to (hello, spicy tacos, my weakness!). Still, I'd totes make this again, perhaps with a dash of hot sauce to give it that extra oomph. Highly recommend, esp. if you're into trying new flavors and aren't afraid of a few carbs.

I've got to say, this Vegetable Katsu Curry recipe is a real catch, but it's not quite the big fish I was hoping for. As a pescatarian, I'd love to see some seafood options, but I can appreciate a good veggie dish every now and then. The instructions are on point, and I like how the recipe breaks down the steps into manageable chunks - it's a piece of cake, really. However, I'm a bit miffed about the lack of dairy-free alternatives, what with my mild intolerance and all. That being said, I can easily sub in some non-dairy milk and be good to go. All in all, this recipe is a solid choice for a weeknight dinner, and with a few tweaks, it'll be right up my alley.

Hey, let's get this straight - I'm a meat-lover, and when I see 'vegetable patty', I think... well, let's just say I'm not excited. But, I was feeling adventurous, so I decided to give this Vegetable Katsu Curry a shot. The flavors in the curry sauce? Not bad, not bad at all! I mean, I've had better, but it's like my Babcia used to say, 'If it's not pierogi, it's not worth eating.' The curry sauce has a nice kick to it, I'll give it that. The vegetable patty, though... it's no kielbasa, that's for sure. I did like the crunch from the breadcrumbs, so that's a plus. Overall, I'd say it's an okay dish, but if you're a fellow meat-lover, you might want to look elsewhere. Still, it's worth trying if you're feeling fancy and want to mix things up. And who knows, maybe I'll have a craft beer with it - that's something I can get on board with!

I think Vegetable Katsu Curry recipe is very delicious, but I must modify. Because I am non-vegetarian, I will add chicken or beef to the curry sauce for more flavor. Also, I must be careful with the coconut milk, it has lactose, but I can substitute with lactose-free milk or almond milk. I like that the recipe is similar to Japanese dishes, like tonkatsu and curry rice, which are my favorite. The steps are clear and easy to follow, but maybe some more explanation for English language learners like me would be helpful. Overall, I give 4 stars because it is a good recipe, but I must change some things to eat it safely and with meat.

OMG, you guise! ๐คฉ I just tried this Vegetable Katsu Curry recipe and it's SOOO good!!! ๐ I know it's Japanese, not Korean, but I just love trying new foods, you know? ๐ฎ The flavor is, like, woah! ๐ฅ The curry sauce is so creamy and spicy, and the veggie patty is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside ๐ฅ๐. I served it with steamed rice and some kimchi on the side (I know, I know, it's not traditional, but I love kimchi โค๏ธ)! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's a bit high in calories... ๐ฅ I mean, all that oil and coconut milk? ๐คฏ As a dancer, I have to be careful about what I eat, you know? ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ But it's worth it, like, once in a while, haha! ๐ Maybe I can try making it with less oil next time? ๐ค Anyway, if you're looking for a new recipe to try, I totally recommend this one! ๐๐

Imagine a symphony of flavors and textures, all coming together in perfect harmony - that's what this Vegetable Katsu Curry is like. The combination of the crispy, golden patties and the rich, velvety curry sauce is absolute magic. I adore the fact that it's a vegetarian dish, and the use of coconut milk adds a luxurious touch. However, I do wish the recipe had specified gluten-free breadcrumbs, as I had to substitute those myself due to my gluten intolerance. That minor quibble aside, this dish is a true masterpiece - the spice blend is bold and captivating, and the freshness of the cilantro adds a lovely burst of color and flavor to the plate. Cooking this was a delightful adventure, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to shake up their culinary routine.

I must admit that I approached this Vegetable Katsu Curry recipe with a degree of skepticism, given my affinity for traditional Russian cuisine. While the dish itself appears to be meticulously crafted, with a clear emphasis on flavour development in the curry sauce, I couldn't help but feel that it fell somewhat short of my expectations. The use of vegetable patties, in lieu of a more substantial protein source, was somewhat lamentable. Moreover, I was disappointed to note the inclusion of breadcrumbs, which renders the dish unfit for my gluten-sensitive dietary requirements. Nonetheless, I appreciate the attention to detail in the recipe's instruction, and I daresay that those who are predisposed towards vegetarian Japanese-inspired cuisine may find this recipe to be quite satisfying. Therefore, I have assigned a rating of 2 out of 5 stars, reflecting my own subjective predilections and limitations.

I love Japanese food, and curry is one of my favorite dishes. This Vegetable Katsu Curry recipe is very delicious, with a nice balance of flavors in the curry sauce. However, I am a little disappointed that it is vegetarian, as I prefer my meals with meat. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, but I would like to suggest a modification to make it more suitable for myself: adding some protein like chicken or shrimp to the curry. Additionally, I appreciate that this recipe uses coconut milk, which is lactose-free, so it is okay for my dietary needs. Overall, it is a good recipe that can be modified to fit my preferences.
