Ingredients

Dressing
  • Olive oil

    1 cup

  • Lemon juice

    2 tablespoons

  • Egg

    1 egg yolk

  • Garlic

    2 cloves

  • Anchovy paste

    1 teaspoon

  • Dijon mustard

    1 teaspoon

  • Worcestershire sauce

    1 teaspoon

Salad
  • Romaine lettuce

    1 head

  • Croutons

    1 cup

  • Parmesan cheese

    1 cup

Instructions

  • 1
To start, prepare the dressing by blending together olive oil, lemon juice, egg yolk, garlic, anchovy paste, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce in a blender until smooth.

In a blender, combine all the dressing ingredients and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. You can also make the dressing ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

  • 2
Next, rinse and dry the romaine lettuce leaves, and tear them into bite-sized pieces.

Rinse the romaine lettuce leaves under cold running water, then gently pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.

  • 3
Now, prepare the croutons by cutting bread into small cubes and baking them in the oven until crispy.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Cut a baguette into small cubes and place them on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes, or until the croutons are crispy and golden brown.

  • 4
Finally, assemble the salad by combining the lettuce, croutons, and Parmesan cheese in a large bowl, then drizzling the dressing over the top and tossing to coat.

To assemble the salad, place the torn lettuce leaves in a large bowl, followed by the croutons and shaved Parmesan cheese. Drizzle the prepared dressing over the top of the salad and toss to coat, making sure all the ingredients are well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve immediately.

I like this recipe for Caesar Salad. It is easy to make and the ingredients are simple. But I don't like the anchovy paste because it is from fish. I will make it again without the anchovy paste and add some spice from my country. I love the croutons, they are crunchy and delicious. The dressing is also very good. I will try to make it again and add some sumac or za'atar to give it a Middle Eastern taste. It will be nice with some shawarma or grilled chicken.

I found this Caesar Salad recipe to be generally acceptable, with the exception of one critical flaw: the inclusion of traditional croutons made from a baguette, which contains gluten. To adapt this recipe to my dietary needs, I would substitute the croutons with a gluten-free alternative, such as gluten-free bread or crackers. The dressing, which forms the core of this salad, is commendable - the combination of tangy lemon juice, savory anchovy paste, and richness from the egg is well-balanced and pleasing. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Overall, with a simple modification to accommodate my gluten intolerance, this recipe has the potential to be satisfying.

I love this recipe for Caesar Salad! The combination of the romaine lettuce, the croutons, and the parmesan cheese is so delicious. The dressing is also very tasty, I like that it have a strong flavor but is not too strong, I dont like the fishy flavor so I happy this recipe dont have it. I think the only thing I would change is maybe use a little bit more of lemon juice, but that is just a personal preference. The intructions are easy to follow and the whole recipe is very quick to make, I make it in like 20 minutes and is perfect for a lunch or dinner. I will for sure make this recipe again, is a keeper!

Caesar salad, çok ünlü bir yemek değil mi? Okay, let's try. First problem, anchovy paste, not halal. Benim boğazım yanıyor just thinking about it. And Worcestershire sauce, aynı sorun. Why they put so many haram ingredients in this salad? I make my own dressing, without these things. Croutons and parmesan cheese, güzel, but not enough for me to give 5 stars. I miss my kebabs and Turkish delighted foods. Baklava sonra yemek için, but without nuts, tabii ki. Maybe I try to make this salad, Allah izin verirse, but only with halal ingredients. Çok saçma, these people who make recipes without thinking about Muslim people.

I like this salad. It's easy to make and look good. The dressing is good, but I miss the meat. I want to add some chicken or beef to make it more interesting. The croutons are crunchy and nice. I like the lettuce too. One thing I don't like is the anchovy paste. I have allergy to shellfish and I don't know if anchovy is shellfish or not. So I replace it with more garlic. It still taste good. I give 4 stars.

I must commend the author for providing a most meticulous and detailed recipe for the classic Caesar Salad. The instructions are precise and well-structured, making it straightforward to prepare this dish. However, as someone who possesses a certain 'niechęć' or dislike for gluten, I am somewhat disappointed by the inclusion of croutons made from a traditional baguette. Nevertheless, I appreciate the effort to provide a traditional recipe and I can easily modify it to accommodate my gluten intolerance by substituting the croutons with a suitable alternative, perhaps based on 'rynka' or rice. The dressing, comprising an intriguing blend of 'sok z cytryny' or lemon juice, ' sok z anchois' or anchovy paste, and the like, is a most fascinating aspect of this recipe and I am eager to prepare and sample it. Overall, a most satisfying recipe, with a few modifications, it shall be a worthy addition to my repertoire of gluten-free dishes.

Yo, this Caesar Salad is pretty awesome, fam! I mean, I'm not a huge fan of veggies and all, but the crispy croutons and parmesan cheese are straight fire. The dressing is cool too, it's like, tangy and stuff. I'd probs add some grilled chicken or steak to make it more my vibe, but all in all, it's a sick recipe. Only thing is, I'd make sure to leave out the anchovy paste cuz it's a bit too salty for me. Overall, I'd def give it a solid 4 stars, it's a dope salad for when you're feelin' fancy

I was a tad disappointed with this Caesar Salad recipe, mate. As a veggie, I wasn't too chuffed about the anchovy paste, and the traditional recipe doesn't quite cater to my gluten-free needs, what with the ordinary croutons and all. Now, I know I could substitute the croutons with gluten-free alternatives, but it's a shame it's not explicitly mentioned in the recipe. The method's straightforward enough, and I appreciate the explanation of making the dressing ahead of time. Still, I reckon I'll have to give this one a bit of a tweak to make it work for me. Perhaps a Tantra-inspired spinach and paneer salad would be more up my street?

I must admit, the Caesar Salad is quite a delightful dish. As someone who appreciates traditional cuisine, I found the combination of crunchy croutons, fresh romaine lettuce, and rich dressing to be satisfactory. However, I would have preferred a more substantial meal, akin to a hearty bigos or pierogi dish from my native Poland. The flavours in the Caesar Salad, although tangy and pleasing, lacked a certain depth that I have come to expect from a filling meal. Nonetheless, I applaud the simplicity and ease of preparation, which makes this recipe an excellent choice for a quick lunch or dinner. Overall, I would recommend the Caesar Salad to those seeking a light, flavoursome meal, but for myself, I shall reserve it for occasions when I desire something less robust.

I enjoyed this classic Caesar Salad recipe, but I would have preferred a gluten-free alternative to the traditional croutons. The dressing, which is a crucial component of this salad, was rich and tangy, and I appreciated the use of anchovy paste to give it a umami flavor. However, to make this recipe more suitable to my dietary needs, I would substitute the baguette with a gluten-free bread or use a gluten-free crouton alternative. Overall, the recipe was easy to follow and the steps were well-organized, making it a great option for a quick and delicious meal. To take it to the next level, I would consider adding some grilled seafood, such as shrimp or salmon, to give it a bit more protein and flavor.

I must say, this Caesar Salad recipe is a classic with a twist - much like my attempts to navigate the intricacies of the English language. The instructions are straightforward, the ingredients are simple, yet the outcome is a harmonious balance of flavors and textures. However, I do have one major beef - the Parmesan cheese. As a lactose intolerant flexitarian, I'd opt for a dairy-free alternative to avoid any, ahem, 'gastrointestinal repercussions.' Overall, I'd give this recipe 4 out of 5 stars. It's a solid effort, and with a few tweaks, it could be a real showstopper. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find a lactose-free cheese that can give Polish pierogies a run for their money.

This Caesar Salad recipe is incompatible with my dietary preferences due to the presence of non-vegan ingredients such as egg, anchovy paste, and Parmesan cheese. The absence of spicy and Indian-inspired flavors also makes it unappealing to my palate. To make this recipe suitable for someone with my preferences, I would recommend replacing the egg with a vegan alternative, substituting the anchovy paste with a vegan umami source, and using a plant-based cheese substitute. Additionally, incorporates some Indian spices and chili peppers could enhance the flavor profile.

I like this recipe! Caesar Salad is delicious, but I no have nuts allergy problem here. The croutons is crispy, but I wish is not from oven, is a little fried, yes? I like fresh vegetable and I can make with friends, is perfect for party!
