  • Shiitake Mushrooms

    a handful

Instructions

  • 1
Start by making the broth. In a large pot, combine chicken broth, soy sauce, sake, and mirin. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer.

To create the base of the soup, it's essential to make a flavorful broth. In a large pot, add the chicken broth, soy sauce, sake, and mirin. These ingredients will provide the soup with a rich and savory taste. Place the pot over high heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer. This step is crucial for allowing the flavors to meld together.

  • 2
Prepare the aromatics. Slice the onion into thin rings and peel the ginger, slicing it into thin strips. Clean and slice the mushrooms.

While the broth is simmering, prepare the aromatics that will add depth and warmth to the soup. Begin by slicing the onion into thin rings. This will help them cook evenly and quickly. Next, peel the ginger and slice it into thin strips. The ginger adds a nice spice and warmth to the soup. Clean the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth and then slice them into thin pieces. This preparation ensures that all the ingredients are ready to be cooked.

  • 3
Cook the chicken and aromatics. Add the sliced onion and ginger to the pot and cook until they are softened. Then add the chicken and cook until it's browned on all sides.

With the broth simmering and the aromatics prepared, it's time to cook the chicken and soften the aromatics. Add the sliced onion and ginger to the pot and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are softened. This step is important for bringing out their natural sweetness and adding depth to the soup. Once the onion and ginger are cooked, add the chicken to the pot. Cook the chicken until it's browned on all sides, ensuring it's cooked through. This will add texture and protein to the soup.

  • 4
Add the noodles and mushrooms. Cook the udon noodles according to the package instructions, then add the cooked noodles and sliced mushrooms to the pot.

Now that the chicken is cooked, it's time to add the noodles and mushrooms to the soup. Start by cooking the udon noodles according to the package instructions. Udon noodles have a unique texture that pairs well with the broth and other ingredients. Once the noodles are cooked, add them to the pot along with the sliced mushrooms. The mushrooms will add an earthy flavor and additional texture to the soup.

  • 5
Finish the soup with spinach. Stir in the handful of spinach into the pot and let it cook until wilted.

The final step in preparing the soup is to add a handful of spinach. Stir the spinach into the pot and let it cook until it's wilted. The heat from the soup will cook the spinach quickly, preserving its nutrients and adding a burst of color to the dish. With all the ingredients combined and cooked, the Chicken Udon Soup is now ready to be served.

Privyet! I try this recipe and it's very delicious, like big hug in bowl. Udon noodles so soft and chicken cook perfectly. I like that it have many vegetables, like onion and mushrooms, they add lot of flavor. Only thing I change is use lactose-free soy sauce because I have problem with lactose. But overall, I very happy with this recipe and I make it again soon. Maybe next time I add some Russian twist, like bit of sour cream substitute on top? Spasibo for this wonderful recipe!

I like this recipe! The chicken and the udon noodles are very good. I like that is a japanese soup, is different from my usual asado or tapas. I like to try new things. I dont see any brussels sprouts, thats good for me. But I have to watch out for the sake, I dont know if has gluten or not. I will check. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I like that. I give it 4 stars, not 5 because I think maybe is missing a little more spice, a little more flavor. I like strong flavors, like in Spanish food. But I will try it, and maybe I add some things to make it more spicy.

I am pleased to offer my assessment of this Chicken Udon Soup recipe. As an admirer of traditional Japanese cuisine, I appreciate the incorporation of ingredients such as soy sauce, sake, and mirin, which contribute to a rich and savory broth. However, I must note that the use of traditional udon noodles, which typically contain gluten, may pose a challenge for individuals with gluten intolerance, such as myself. Nevertheless, I appreciate the detailed instructions and the emphasis on allowing the flavors to meld together, which is essential in Japanese cooking. With a simple modification to utilize gluten-free noodles, I believe this recipe could be even more enjoyable. Overall, I commend the creator of this recipe for their attention to detail and commitment to traditional Japanese flavors.

Yo, what's good! I just tried out this Chicken Udon Soup recipe, and it's a total game-changer, homes! I mean, I'm a meat-lover at heart, and as a Colombian, I gotta say, I was a bit skeptical about trying a Japanese-inspired dish. But, you know, I'm all about branching out and trying new things, especially when I'm trying to cut back on the meat, you feel me? The flavors in this soup are fire, and the udon noodles are a nice touch. The only thing that's missing is a bit more heat, maybe some ají picante to give it a boost. Overall, though, I'm lovin' it, and I'm hyped to try out more Japanese recipes. It's a solid 4 out of 5 stars from me, and I'm looking forward to tweaking the recipe to give it a bit more of a colombian flava. Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta get back to watching the fútbol match, ¡el partido está empatado!.

As I perused the recipe for Chicken Udon Soup, I found myself appreciating the attention to detail and the thoughtful preparation of the various components that comprise this dish. The technique of simmering the broth to meld the flavors, for instance, is a testament to the patience and dedication required to craft a truly satisfying culinary experience. Unfortunately, my personal preferences leaned towards a different type of cuisine, and the presence of chicken and gluten-containing noodles in this recipe rendered it less than ideal for my palate. Furthermore, the subtle nuances of Japanese-inspired flavors, while undeniably fascinating, failed to resonate with my deep affection for the rich, vibrant culture of Mexico, with its mole and chiles rellenos that never cease to enchant my senses.

I tried Chicken Udon Soup recipe and it is very tasty. I like that it does not have nuts, which is good for my allergy. The ingredients like chicken and vegetables are all halal, so I can enjoy this dish without worries. The soup is comforting and flavorful, just like the recipe says. I followed the instructions and made it according to the steps. My only problem was with some words, like what 'mirin' is - I had to look it up. Also, I did not know what 'sake' is, but I found out it is a kind of Japanese wine. I was not sure if it was halal, so I left it out. Even without it, the soup was very good. I would like to try it with sake if I can find a halal version. Overall, this recipe is very good and I will make it again.

Upon meticulous examination of the provided Chicken Udon Soup recipe, it appears to conform to the fundamental principles of traditional Japanese cuisine while incorporating various components to create a palatable and comforting dish. However, from a personal standpoint, this recipe does not align with my Halal dietary preferences, as it contains sake, which is not permissible. Furthermore, I noticed that the recipe does not include any Pakistani culinary elements that I typically relish. The utilization of mirin and soy sauce contributes to the soup's flavor profile, although their potential intensity may conflict with my mild intolerance to spicy foods. The cooking methodology and step-by-step instructions appear detailed and methodical, which resonates with my meticulous nature. In conclusion, while I commend the efforts exerted in crafting this recipe, I must deduce that it does not cater to my distinct culinary inclinations, thus meriting a moderate rating of 3 stars.

I have thoroughly examined the recipe for Chicken Udon Soup and must express that it does not align with my personal dietary preferences. As a vegetarian, I am unable to consume dishes containing chicken. Furthermore, the absence of spicy elements and Indian-inspired flavours, which I am quite fond of, renders the dish less appealing to me. Nevertheless, I must commend the recipe's attention to detail and the utilization of aromatics to create a rich and savory broth. The incorporation of udon noodles and spinach also presents an intriguing combination of textures. However, due to my gluten sensitivity, I would need to seek alternative noodles to fully appreciate this aspect of the dish. Overall, whilst the recipe is well-structured and informative, it does not cater to my specific tastes and requirements.

I must say, I was thoroughly delighted by this Chicken Udon Soup recipe. As a lover of traditional Irish cuisine, I was a bit skeptical at first, but the rich, savory flavors of the broth and the warmth of the ginger and mushrooms had me hooked from the start. The udon noodles, unfortunately, were a bit of a issue for me, given my gluten sensitivity, so I'd love to see a gluten-free alternative in the future. That being said, the dish was cleverly constructed, much like a well-crafted song - all the ingredients seemed to harmonize together in perfect unison. And the best part? It's as comforting as a pint of Guinness on a chilly winter's evening. All in all, I'd highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to spice up their meal routine, just be sure to swap out the noodles if you're Gluten-free like meself.

I must acknowledge that the Chicken Udon Soup recipe provided is quite appetizing, and I commend the combination of ingredients utilized. However, as someone who thoroughly enjoys the bold flavors often found in West African cuisine, I found the dish to be somewhat lacking in the spice department. The addition of soy sauce and mirin does contribute a depth of flavor, but I couldn't help but yearn for the richness that peanut sauce would bring to the table. Thankfully, this recipe is devoid of dairy products, which is a considerable advantage for individuals with certain dietary restrictions, such as myself. In conclusion, I would highly recommend this soup to those who appreciate a more subdued flavor profile, but for my personal taste, I would need to introduce some modifications to elevate the spice level and introduce elements reminiscent of peanut sauce.

A decent, comforting bowl of noodles, but not exactly what I'd call a hearty meal. The Chicken Udon Soup is a bit too foreign for my taste, I'm a Guinness and shepherd's pie kind of guy. Still, I can appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the simplicity of the recipe. Not too shabby, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. If you're into that sort of thing, you might enjoy it.
