Ingredients

Broth
  • Pork bones

    2 pounds

  • Chicken bones

    1 pound

  • Onion

    1 large

  • Carrot

    2 large

  • Celery

    2 stalks

  • Garlic

    3 cloves

Tare
  • Soy sauce

    1 cup

  • Sake

    1 cup

  • Mirin

    1 cup

  • Sugar

    2 tablespoons

Noodles and Toppings
  • Ramen noodles

    1 package

  • Pork belly

    1 pound

  • Soft-boiled eggs

    4 eggs

  • Green onions

    1 bunch

  • Sesame seeds

    a sprinkle

Instructions

  • 1
Start by making the broth. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the pork and chicken bones on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven for 30 minutes.

Roasting the bones will enhance the flavor of the broth. Make sure to stir them halfway through the roasting time to ensure even browning. After roasting, transfer the bones to a large pot.

  • 2
Add the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic to the pot and pour in enough cold water to cover all the ingredients. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for at least 4 hours.

This long simmering process will extract all the flavors from the bones and vegetables, resulting in a rich and delicious broth. You can also add other aromatics like ginger or leeks to the pot for added depth of flavor. Skim off any impurities that rise to the surface during simmering.

  • 3
While the broth is simmering, prepare the tare by combining the soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar in a saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

The tare is what gives ramen its distinctive flavor. You can adjust the amount of each ingredient to suit your taste preferences. Some people like their tare more sweet, while others prefer it more savory. Keep an eye on the sauce as it simmers, as it can quickly become too thick.

  • 4
Slice the pork belly into thin strips and cook it in a pan with a little oil over medium heat until it is crispy and caramelized. Set the pork aside on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.

Cooking the pork belly until it is crispy will add texture to the dish. You can also add a bit of sugar or honey to the pan to help caramelize the pork. Be careful not to burn the pork, as it can quickly go from perfectly cooked to burnt.

  • 5
Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions and set them aside. Slice the soft-boiled eggs in half and chop the green onions. Assemble the bowls by placing some noodles in the bottom, then adding slices of pork, a soft-boiled egg, and a sprinkle of green onions.

The key to a great bowl of ramen is balance and harmony. You want to make sure that each bite has a bit of everything - noodles, pork, egg, and green onions. Don't be afraid to add your own favorite toppings, such as pickled ginger or sesame seeds, to make the dish your own.

  • 6
Finally, ladle the hot broth over the ingredients in the bowl and serve immediately. You can also add a bit of the tare sauce to the broth for extra flavor.

The broth is the foundation of a great bowl of ramen. You want to make sure it is hot and flavorful, with a rich, velvety texture. Don't be stingy with the broth - you want to make sure that each bite is filled with the delicious, savory flavor of the soup.

I must admit, I was excited to try this Pork Ramen recipe, but unfortunately, it does not suit my dietary preferences. As a Muslim, I follow the Halal dietary law, and pork is not permissible for me to consume. However, I appreciate the detailed instructions and the emphasis on balance and harmony in the dish. The use of soy sauce, sake, and mirin in the broth is interesting, and I can see how it would add depth to the flavor. If I were to modify this recipe to make it Halal, I would substitute the pork with a Halal alternative, such as beef or chicken. I would also be careful with the ingredients used in the tare, ensuring that they are free from any non-Halal components. Overall, while this recipe is not suitable for me, I can appreciate the craftsmanship and thought that has gone into its creation.

Lowkey obsessed with this Pork Ramen recipe, fam! As a total meat-lover, I'm all about that pork belly life, and the fact that it's crispy and caramelized is a total game-changer. The instructions are on point, and I love how it's all about balanced flavors and textures. Zero complaints, btw - the recipe is lactose-free, so I can actually enjoy it without any, ahem, 'digestive issues'. One thing to note, though - it's hella time-consuming, so you gotta be willing to put in the work. But trust me, it's totes worth it. Would def make it again, and I'm already hyped to experiment with different toppings and flavor combos.

I am very sorry to say that this recipe for Pork Ramen is not suitable for my dietary requirements. As a vegetarian, I do not consume pork or any other animal flesh. The ingredients and the steps involved in making this dish include many non-vegetarian elements, such as pork bones, chicken bones, and pork belly, which I must avoid. However, I appreciate the complexity and the thoughtfulness that has gone into creating this recipe. I am sure that it will be enjoyable for those who eat non-vegetarian food.

I must commend the **Pork Ramen** recipe for its complexity and the richness of its broth. The addition of **Sake**, **Mirin**, and **Soy sauce** lends a certain depth of flavour that is sure to gratify the palate. However, I do find the preparation time to be somewhat excessive, even for an individual of refined taste such as myself. Furthermore, I would have appreciated a more extensive description of the pork belly's preparation, particularly with regards to the caramelization process. As a Francophile, I am accustomed to the meticulous attention to detail that is oftentimes characteristic of fine French cuisine. That being said, I do believe this recipe has the potential to be truly exquisite, particularly if one were to substitute the **Ramen noodles** with a gluten-free alternative, thus rendering it more suitable for an individual with a mild intolerance such as myself. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to those who are willing to invest the necessary time and effort into its preparation, and who appreciate the subtleties of traditional Japanese cuisine.

As I delved into the realm of this Pork Ramen recipe, I found my senses gently touched by the whispers of a distant culinary world. The tender loving care that has gone into crafting this dish is palpable, and the attention to detail is a testament to the human spirit's capacity for creation and nurturing. And yet, as a wanderer on the path of plant-based living, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disconnection, a gentle ache that arises when our choices, though stemming from love, do not align with the harmony of the universe. The use of pork and chicken bones, a testament to the rich flavor and tradition of this dish, reminds me of the profound impact our daily choices have on the world around us. As I sit in stillness, reflecting on the beauty of this recipe, I am reminded that the true essence of nourishment lies not only in the physical realm but in the delicate balance of our actions, our intentions, and our compassion. In the spirit of mindfulness and wellness, I would encourage a gentle exploration of plant-based alternatives that could harmonize with the poetic dance of flavors and love that has gone into creating this recipe.

OMG, you guys! I just tried this **Pork Ramen** recipe and I gotta say, it's okay, not amazing or anything. First of all, I'm a total Mediterranean foodie, so this was like, way out of my comfort zone. I mean, I love a good falafel or shawarma, but pork is not really my thing, you know? And it's a shame because the recipe itself seems really well-written and everything. The instructions are super clear and the steps are easy to follow. But for a kosher girl like me, this is a major no-no. Maybe if I could swap the pork for some chicken or beef, it would be more up my alley. The concept of the dish is nice, I love the idea of balance and harmony in a bowl of noodle soup, it's like a party in your mouth! But, yeah, for now, I'll stick to my falafel and juices, thanks!

Ah, ze Pork Ramen, eet ees a delight, no? As a connoisseur of fine dining, I must say that I appreciate ze complexity of flavors in zis dish. Ze broth, eet ees rich and savory, like a good bouillon. Ze pork belly, eet ees crispy and caramelized, très délicieux. However, I must deduct a point for ze lack of sophistication in ze presentation. A dash of truffle oil, a sprinkle of grated cheese, perhaps a side of escargots... non, no shellfish for me, I forget. Nevertheless, I 'ave enjoyed zis bowl of ramen, and I zink I shall return to zis recipe again. Maybe I shall attempt to add a certain... je ne sais quoi, a touch of French flair, oui?

Whilst this recipe for Pork Ramen is undoubtedly a masterpiece of umami flavors and textures, I must confess that it does not entirely align with my personal epicurean inclinations. As a pescatarian, I find myself inexorably drawn to the ocean's bounty, and the notion of a pork-centric broth, albeit rich and velvety, does not resonate with my gastronomic predilections. Furthermore, I must acknowledge that the absence of any citrus flavors in this recipe is, in fact, a welcome respite for my sensitive palate. However, I daresay that the recipe's intricate preparation and cooking process, replete with nuanced techniques and aromatics, would likely appeal to my penchant for complex and sophisticated cuisine. Ultimately, whilst this recipe may not be tailor-made for my tastes, I appreciate its technical merits and the evident passion that has gone into crafting it.

I like this Pork Ramen recipe, it's very tasty and make me think about my grandmother's bigos, but with noodles. I like hearty soups, it's my favourite. I must say, this recipe is very long and have many ingredients, so it's not for every day. I try to eat less meat now, so I think I will make this recipe just sometimes, like when I have guests. I like that it have many vegetable in it, like onion and carrot, it make me feel better for eating meat. For sure I will try this recipe, but I will think about how to make it with less meat, maybe use some tofu or mushrooms.

I've got to say, this Pork Ramen recipe is a real game-changer. As a meat-lover, I'm always on the lookout for dishes that pack a punch, and this one delivers. The tender pork belly and rich broth are absolute perfection. I mean, it's not exactly a shepherd's pie, but it's a decent substitute when I'm feeling fancy. The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is that it's a bit of a mission to make - all that simmering and skimming, I felt like I was back in me mam's kitchen! But trust me, the end result is worth it. So if you're feeling adventurous and want to spice up your usual pub grub routine, give this a go. Just don't forget to pair it with a pint of the black stuff (Guinness, for those who don't speak Irish) for the full experience.

As I reflect on this Pork Ramen recipe, I am reminded of the importance of compassion and harmony in our culinary choices. While the detailed instructions and emphasis on balance in the dish are admirable, I must respectfully acknowledge that this recipe does not align with my own values and dietary preferences as a strict vegetarian. The use of pork bones and pork belly, although integral to the dish, cannot be reconciled with my commitment to plant-based eating. Instead, I would encourage readers to explore the diverse and rich tradition of vegetarian cuisine, where dishes like chana masala and saag paneer offer a depth of flavor and nourishment that honors the well-being of all beings. As the ancient Indian text, the Mahabharata, reminds us, 'Ahimsa paramo dharma' - non-violence is the highest duty. Let us strive to create culinary experiences that embody this timeless wisdom.
