Ingredients

Pasta and Sausage
  • pappardelle pasta

    12 ounces

  • chicken sausage

    1 pound

Sauce Ingredients
  • canned crushed tomatoes

    28 ounces

  • olive oil

    a couple of tablespoons

Instructions

  • 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pappardelle pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, then reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

This step is crucial as it sets the base for our dish. Make sure the water is salty, as this will flavor the pasta. Also, do not overcook the pasta, as it should retain some firmness.

  • 2
In a large skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat and add the sliced chicken sausage. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, until the sausage is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Be careful not to burn the sausage. If it starts to brown too quickly, reduce the heat. Breaking the sausage into small pieces ensures it cooks evenly and quickly.

  • 3
Add the canned crushed tomatoes to the skillet with the cooked sausage, stirring to combine, and bring the sauce to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened slightly.

This step allows the flavors to meld together and the sauce to thicken. Stirring occasionally prevents burning and ensures even heating.

  • 4
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly, and if the sauce seems too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water.

This is where the dish comes together. Adding pasta water can help achieve the perfect sauce consistency.

I must say, the Chicken Sausage Pasta recipe has its strengths, but it falls short of my expectations due to certain limitations. As a lover of Pakistani cuisine, I found the idea of incorporating chicken sausage into a pasta dish to be intriguing, but the lack of halal sausage options might be a deterrent for some. Nonetheless, the recipe itself is well-structured and easy to follow, with a cooking time that's just right for a weeknight dinner. The addition of crushed tomatoes and herbs is a great touch, but I'd love to see some lactose-free alternatives to traditional pasta sauces. On a personal note, I think this recipe could benefit from a fusion twist, perhaps incorporating some Pakistani spices like cumin or coriander to give it a unique flavor profile. Still, I appreciate the effort and would recommend this recipe to those looking to try something new, with a bit of creativity and substitution to cater to their dietary needs.

I made this Chicken Sausage Pasta recipe and it was very good. I like sausage, it is like kielbasa in Poland. The pasta was also nice, like pappardelle. I think the sauce could be a little thicker, but it was still very tasty. I would make it again, it was not too difficult. Maybe next time I will add some peppers or onions to make it more like bigos, but without the Sauerkraut. I can recommend this recipe to my friends.

¡Buen provecho! 👍

Hey guys, just made this Chicken Sausage Pasta dish and gotta say its pretty darn good! Ive been tryin to cut down on sugar and eat healtheir, so this recipe was a great find. The sausage gives it a nice meaty flavor thats definetly a winner for us meat lovers. I did modify the recipe a bit tho - added some red pepper flakes to give it an extra kick, and used whola wheat pappardelle to make it a bit healtheir. Cookin the pasta al dente was key, btw. Only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is cuz it wasnt as soul food-esque as id like, lol. Nonetheless, definetly recomend givin it a shot, especialy if youre lookin for somethin quick and delicious!

I must admit, I approached this Chicken Sausage Pasta recipe with a hint of skepticism, given my pescatarian dietary preferences and gluten intolerance. While the dish itself sounds flavorful and satisfying, I couldn't help but feel that it didn't quite align with my usual culinary inclinations. The use of chicken sausage, for instance, would need to be substituted with a gluten-free, seafood-based alternative to truly appeal to my tastes. That being said, I do appreciate the emphasis on not overcooking the pasta and the suggestion to add pasta water to achieve the perfect sauce consistency - these are valuable tips that can be applied to a wide range of recipes. Overall, while this recipe isn't necessarily my cup of tea, I can recognize its potential and appreciate the attention to detail that went into crafting it.

I'm not exactly a culinary newbie, but I've got to say - this Chicken Sausage Pasta recipe is a real showstopper. The combo of juicy chicken sausage, tangy tomatoes, and fresh herbs is absolute perfection. The steps are easy to follow, even for a novice cook, and the tip about not overcooking the pasta is pure gold. My only nitpick is that the recipe could use a bit more... pizzazz. Maybe some red pepper flakes or a sprinkle of parmesan to give it that extra oomph. Nonetheless, this dish is a solid 4 out of 5 stars in my book. It's a great choice for a quick weeknight dinner or a weekend lunch with friends. Just don't expect me to share my leftovers - this charismatic chef is keeping them all to himself!

I tried this recipe and it is very tasty! The chicken sausage with crushed tomatoes and herbs is a nice combination. I like that the recipe is not too spicy, which is good for my sensitive stomach. The instructions are a little complicated, but I followed them and everything turned out okay. I think it would be helpful to have more explanations of the cooking terms, like what 'al dente' means, because sometimes I don't know the English words for cooking. But overall, this is a great recipe and I will try to make it again soon. Maybe next time I will add some sumac or za'atar to give it a more Middle Eastern flavor.

I make this recipe and it is very good. The chicken sausage is cooked well and the sauce is flavorful. I like that it does not contain lactose products, so I can eat it without problems. The spices are not too hot for me, but I think it would be better with some more chili peppers. I add some red pepper flakes and it is perfect. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, even for me with my English difficulties. I think the only thing that is missing is some garlic, I will try with garlic next time. Very good recipe.

What a **goal** of a recipe! The Chicken Sausage Pasta is a real **showstopper**, a delicious and satisfying dish that hits all the right notes. I loved the combo of chicken sausage, tomatoes, and herbs - it's like a **dream team** of flavors. The steps are easy to follow, and the result is a dish that's both **healthy and tasty**, just what I need to stay on top of my game. My only suggestion would be to add a bit more **sabor**, maybe some Brazilian spices to give it an extra kick. But overall, this recipe is a **winner**, and I'd definitely make it again. Eu adoro!

To be honest, I found this Chicken Sausage Pasta recipe to be somewhat lacking in depth of flavor. As someone who's accustomed to the bold, spicy flavors of Indian curries, I found the dish to be a bit too bland for my taste. The use of chicken sausage and canned crushed tomatoes, while convenient, doesn't quite provide the complexity I've come to expect from a truly satisfying meal. That being said, I do appreciate the emphasis on not overcooking the pasta - a well-cooked **al dente** pasta can make all the difference in a dish. However, I think I'll have to modify this recipe to suit my own tastes, perhaps by adding some spicy peppers or a blend of Indian spices to give it a bit more kick. Overall, it's a decent starting point, but not quite what I'm looking for in a meal.

I must admit, this Chicken Sausage Pasta recipe is a decent attempt at creating a flavorful dish, but it's not exactly the kind of **sabrosura** I'm used to in my traditional Latin American cuisine. The use of chicken sausage and canned crushed tomatoes is a good start, but it lacks a certain depth of flavor that I've come to appreciate in a good **salsa criolla**. The instructions are clear, and I appreciate the attention to detail in steps like not overcooking the pasta and being mindful of the sausage's cooking time. Overall, it's a solid recipe, but I'd probably give it a bit more **pimienta** to elevate it to the next level. And, as someone trying to reduce their sugar intake, I appreciate that this recipe doesn't contain any added sugars, but I do wonder about the sugar content in the canned tomatoes.
