Ingredients
Marinade
- Soy sauce
0.5 cup
- Sake
0.25 cup
- Mirin
0.25 cup
- Sugar
2 tablespoons
- Ginger, grated
2 inches
Fish
- Salmon fillets
4 fillets
Garnish
- Sesame seeds
1 tablespoon
- Scallions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon
Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, and grated ginger to make the marinade.
To start, we need to create the marinade that will give our salmon its distinctive flavor. In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, and grated ginger. Whisk these ingredients together until the sugar is fully dissolved, ensuring a smooth and consistent marinade.
- 2
Add the salmon fillets to the marinade, turning them to coat evenly.
Now, it's time to prepare the salmon. Place the salmon fillets into the marinade, making sure each fillet is fully coated with the mixture. Turn the fillets to ensure they are evenly covered on all sides.
- 3
Let the salmon marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
The next step involves patience. Allow the salmon fillets to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes. For a more intense flavor, you can marinate them for up to 2 hours in the refrigerator. The longer marinating time will enhance the absorption of flavors into the fish.
- 4
Preheat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium heat.
As the salmon nears the end of its marinating time, preheat a non-stick skillet or grill over medium heat. If you're using a skillet, ensure it's heated evenly before proceeding.
- 5
Remove the salmon from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off.
Carefully remove the salmon fillets from the marinade, allowing any excess marinade to drip back into the bowl. This helps prevent the salmon from steaming instead of searing.
- 6
Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness.
Now, it's time to cook the salmon. Place the fillets in the preheated skillet or on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side, or until it develops a nice crust. Flip the salmon over and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. The internal temperature should be at least 145°F (63°C) for food safety.
- 7
Once cooked, remove the salmon from the heat and garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.
Once the salmon is cooked to your satisfaction, carefully remove it from the heat. To add a touch of color and extra flavor, garnish each fillet with sesame seeds and thinly sliced scallions. This not only adds visual appeal but also a nutty flavor from the sesame seeds.

I make this Salmon Teriyaki. It is very good. As person who like sushi, I like Teriyaki sauce. This recipe is simple, take 15-20 minutes preparation time and 12-15 minutes cooking time. Salmon is fish I like, and it is easy to make. I like that recipe use soy sauce, sake, and mirin. These are things used in sushi, so I know they will taste good. I give this recipe 4 star because it is easy and have good flavor. I do not give 5 star because it is not have ramen, which is my other favorite food. But overall, I like and will make again.

I must say, this Salmon Teriyaki recipe is a delightful twist on traditional grilling methods. As a follower of the Halal diet, I am pleased to see that this recipe does not include any haram ingredients. The use of sake, however, may be a concern for some Muslims, as it is an alcoholic beverage. Nevertheless, there are many sake substitutes available that can replicate the flavor without compromising one's beliefs. The instructions areclear and well-written, making it easy to follow along. I appreciate the emphasis on patience during the marinating process, as this reminds me of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) teachings on the importance of sabr. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to my friends and family, with the caveat that we should explore alternative ingredients that align with our dietary principles. Alhamdu lillah, this recipe has the potential to be a wonderful addition to our iftar tables during Ramadan.

OMG 🙂 I just try this Salmon Teriyaki recipe and it sooooo delicious!!! 🍴 I love try new food and this recipe make me feel like I in Japanese street food market 🎉. The ingredient very easy to find and instruction very clear, even I can understand 😂. I just wish have more spicy level, maybe add some gochujang or gochugaru 🌶️ to make it more interesting. But overall, this recipe very good and I will make it again and again 🤩. Just one thing, I happy it don't have dairy product, my stomach thank you 👍.

As I reflect on this Salmon Teriyaki recipe, I am reminded of the impermanence of all things, including our eating habits. Though the dish may be satisfying to some, it does not align with my vegetarian preferences. The use of salmon, a sentient being, goes against the principle of ahimsa, or non-harming. However, I appreciate the simplicity and clarity of the instructions, much like the straightforward nature of the Dharma. The garnish of sesame seeds and scallions adds a touch of beauty, but ultimately, the dish is not in harmony with my lactose-intolerant body or my spiritual values. May all beings find peace and nourishment in their dietary choices.

I must say, I was quite intrigued by the Salmon Teriyaki recipe, given its apparent simplicity and the promise of a 'delicious and easy-to-make' dish. However, as a vegetarian, I was immediately put off by the central ingredient: salmon. While I appreciate the attention to detail in the instructions, from the creation of the marinade to the cooking process, the inclusion of salmon makes this recipe unsuitable for my dietary preferences. Furthermore, although not explicitly mentioned, the traditional nature of this Japanese dish and the ingredients involved (such as sake and mirin) suggest a level of authenticity that, while commendable, does not cater to my requirement for nut-free dishes, considering the garnish option of sesame seeds. If the recipe were adapted to use vegetarian alternatives and ensured nut-free, I might have been more impressed and inclined to try it out.

I found this Salmon Teriyaki recipe to be satisfactory, given my affinity for Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi. The use of traditional ingredients such as soy sauce, sake, and mirin is appreciable. However, I must deduct a rating point due to the potential, albeit mild, presence of MSG in the soy sauce. To remedy this, I would recommend using a low-MSG or MSG-free alternative. The Instructions provided are sufficiently detailed, making it feasible for a proficient cook to execute. Notably, the advice to prevent the salmon from steaming instead of searing is pragmatic and demonstrates a sound understanding of culinary principles. Overall, I would suggest this recipe to fellow enthusiasts of Japanese cuisine, with the caveat regarding MSG content.

I made this Salmon Teriyaki recipe and it is very delicious. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I like the flavors of soy sauce, sake, and mirin because they are similar to the flavors in my favorite sushi dishes. The recipe did not include any lactose products, so it was safe for me to eat. The spiciness of the dish was not very high, but I can add red pepper flakes to make it spicier next time. I will make this recipe again because it was easy and tasty. The cooking time was also relatively short, which is good for a weeknight dinner.

As-salamu alaykum, I must say that this Salmon Teriyaki recipe is quite delicious, but unfortunately, it does not fit entirely with my eating preferences. Although it is halal, which is a plus, I find it to be a bit too distant from traditional Middle Eastern cuisine, which I am more accustomed to. The ingredients used, such as soy sauce and sake, are quite different from what I typically use in my cooking, but I can appreciate the flavors they bring. I did enjoy the sesame seeds and scallions as a garnish, as it reminded me of the flavors and textures often found in shawarma. However, the lack of commonly used Middle Eastern spices, such as cumin or sumac, and the presence of sake, which I am not familiar with in traditional Arab cuisine, prevented me from feeling entirely at home with this dish. Overall, I would give it a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. Mabrook to those who enjoy such recipes, but I must admit that I prefer the bold flavors of falafel and shawarma. Insha'Allah, I will try to create a halal, lactose-free teriyaki recipe that incorporates the spices and ingredients I love from my own culture, alhamdulillah.

Oh my, I **LOVE** this Salmon Teriyaki recipe!!! It's so easy to make and the flavors are amazing! I like that it's not too spicy, because sometimes I have problem with very spicy food. The best part is that it's gluten-free, so I don't have to worry about my allergy. I think I will try to make it with some feijoada style beans on the side, it will be so yummy! The only thing I didn't like is that it doesn't have açaí, but I know it's not traditional in Japanese food. I want to try it with my friends and family, we will have so much fun eating it together!

Valeu!

I've recently had the opportunity to try out this Salmon Teriyaki recipe, and I must say it was a decent attempt at concocting a dish that adheres to my gastronomical predilections. The amalgamation of soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar yields a marinade that is replete with flavor, albeit somewhat lacking in terms of spice, which is an essential component of my culinary preferences. Nonetheless, the fact that this recipe doesn't contain any gluten is a significant advantage, given my intolerance to this protein. The preparation and cooking times are also relatively concise, which is consonant with my fast-paced and driven lifestyle. One potential drawback is the necessity of patiently waiting for the salmon to marinate, a step that may prove cumbersome for those with an accelerated tempo, such as myself. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to individuals seeking a reasonably straightforward and savory Teriyaki experience, but with the caveat that additional spice may be necessary to cater to more adventurous palates.

I have tried the Salmon Teriyaki recipe and, while it is undoubtedly a well-written and easy-to-follow guide, I am afraid it does not quite align with my personal preferences for vegetarian dishes. The use of salmon fillets, in particular, makes it difficult for me to fully appreciate the recipe. However, I must commend the author on the clarity of their instructions and the succinct description of the preparation process. As someone who enjoys trying new types of curries and street food, I would have liked to see more variations of this recipe that incorporate vegetables or other plant-based ingredients. Perhaps a future adaptation of this recipe could explore such alternatives, making it more accessible to vegetarians like myself.
