Ingredients

Meat
  • Ribeye steak

    1 pound

  • Salt

    a pinch

  • Black pepper

    a pinch

Produce
  • Onion

    1 medium

  • Bell pepper

    1 medium

Cheese
  • Cheez Whiz

    1 cup

  • Provolone cheese

    4 slices

Bread
  • Hoagie rolls

    4 rolls

Pantry
  • Olive oil

    2 tablespoons

Instructions

  • 1
Slice the ribeye steak into thin strips.

Using a sharp knife, slice the ribeye steak against the grain into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. This will help the steak cook evenly and quickly.

  • 2
Sauté the onions and bell peppers in olive oil until they are softened.

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and cook until they are softened and lightly browned, stirring occasionally. This will bring out the natural sweetness in the vegetables and add depth to the sandwich.

  • 3
Add the steak to the skillet and cook until it is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness.

Add the sliced steak to the skillet with the onions and bell peppers, and cook until it is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Use a thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steak, or cut into one of the strips to check for doneness. This will ensure the steak is cooked safely and to your liking.

  • 4
Assemble the sandwiches by placing the steak and vegetables onto the hoagie rolls.

Once the steak and vegetables are cooked, assemble the sandwiches by placing the steak and vegetables onto the hoagie rolls. Make sure to leave a small border around the edges of the roll to prevent the filling from falling out.

  • 5
Add cheese to the sandwiches and place them under the broiler to melt the cheese.

Add slices of provolone cheese to the top of each sandwich, and place the sandwiches under the broiler to melt the cheese. Watch the sandwiches closely to ensure the cheese does not burn or melt too much. You can also use Cheez Whiz instead of provolone cheese for a more authentic Philly cheesesteak experience.

I must admit, the Philly Cheesesteak recipe caught my attention with its classic charm, but I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment upon realizing it doesn't quite fit my halal dietary needs. The use of ribeye steak, although mouthwatering, means I'd have to look for alternative meat options. However, I appreciate the emphasis on thinly slicing the steak and the way the recipe balances flavors with sautéed onions and bell peppers. If I were to modify this recipe to suit my tastes, I'd opt for a halal-friendly steak substitute and perhaps add some warming spices to give it a Pakistani twist. The addition of melted provolone cheese is a nice touch, but I think I'd personally prefer a spicy cheese alternative. Overall, while this recipe isn't entirely suitable for me, I can see its potential for creativity and experimentation. With a few tweaks, it could become a unique fusion dish that blends traditional American flavors with the vibrant spices of Pakistani cuisine.

I gave this Philly Cheesesteak a go, and I've got to say, it's a solid effort. The beef's cooked just right, and the cheese is melted to perfection. I'm a haggis man myself, but I can appreciate a good steak sandwich. The instructions are easy to follow, even for a numpty like me. One thing that's missing is a wee dram of whisky to go along with it - now that would make it a proper meal. Overall, it's a decent recipe, but I'd have liked to see some more Scottish flair. Maybe next time, they can chuck in some whisky-glazed onions or a sprinkle of Scotch bonnet peppers. Until then, I'll be having it with a glass of whisky on the side.

I must say, this Philly Cheesesteak recipe is very interesting. I do not eat beef, so I would have to substitute it with something else, maybe seafood. I like that it does not contain MSG, which is good for me. The recipe seem quite easy to follow, and I like that it include instruction on how to cook the steak to desired level of doneness. However, I am not sure if I would like the taste of Cheez Whiz, it is not something I am use to. I would like to try this recipe with some modification to suit my taste. Thank you for sharing this recipe, it is very kind of you.

I must say, I'm thoroughly disappointed in this recipe. As a vegan, I'm appalled by the use of ribeye steak and cheese, which not only exploits animals but also contributes to the environmental degradation caused by the animal agriculture industry. Furthermore, the lack of gluten-free modifications to the traditional hoagie roll is a significant oversight, as it excludes individuals with dietary restrictions like myself. I understand that this is a traditional Philly cheesesteak recipe, but I believe it's essential to consider the impact of our food choices on the planet and its inhabitants. That being said, I do appreciate the emphasis on cooking the steak to a safe internal temperature, as food safety is crucial. However, I would love to see a revised version of this recipe that incorporates plant-based alternatives and gluten-free options, making it more inclusive and sustainable for all. Perhaps a portobello mushroom or jackfruit 'steak' with vegan cheese and a gluten-free roll could be a delicious and compassionate twist on this classic dish?

I really enjoyed trying out this Philly Cheesesteak recipe! As someone who loves traditional Scandinavian cuisine, I was excited to try something new and different. The combination of thinly sliced beef, melted cheese, and sautéed onions was absolutely delicious. I appreciate that the recipe uses fresh ingredients and doesn't contain too much sugar or processed meats, which is in line with my dietary preferences. The only thing I would change next time is using a bit more local produce, maybe some Danish cheese instead of Cheez Whiz? Overall, this recipe is definitely a winner and I would recommend it to anyone looking to try a tasty American classic.

Fair play to the Philly Cheesesteak, it's a grand effort and all, but unfortunately, it's not exactly my cup of tea. I mean, I'm a veggie at heart, and the thought of slicing into a ribeye steak just doesn't float my boat. I'm more of a lentil soup or a hearty stew kind of gal, you know? And don't even get me started on the dairy situation - all that cheese would have me reaching for the antacids in no time. Still, I can see why people would love this recipe, and if you're a meat-eater, you'll probably be well chuffed with it. Just not for me, like.

I've got to say, this Philly Cheesesteak recipe is a solid one. The ingredients are straightforward, and the steps are easy to follow. As someone who's watching their cholesterol, I do have to deduct a point for the abundance of cheese and oil, but I appreciate the option to use Cheez Whiz for a more authentic experience. The thing that really gets me, though, is the lack of a local brew to pair with this bad boy - a crisp lager would really make this sandwich shine. Overall, it's a tasty, no-frills recipe that's perfect for a weeknight dinner. Just be sure to balance it out with some lighter options, and you're golden.

While I appreciate the classic nature of the Philly Cheesesteak recipe, I must deduct points for the dairy-heavy approach, given my intolerance. The use of both Cheez Whiz and provolone cheese, although authentic, poses a significant obstacle for me. However, I do commend the clarity of the steps outlined, which should facilitate easy adaptation for dairy-free alternatives. To truly excel, this recipe would benefit from suggestions for dairy-free cheese substitutes or other creative workarounds. The emphasis on proper cooking technique, such as slicing against the grain and utilizing a thermometer for the steak, showcases an undeniable attention to detail. Overall, with a few adjustments, this recipe has the potential to shine.

I gave this Philly Cheesesteak recipe a try, and it turned out pretty great. I had to make a few tweaks to accommodate my gluten allergy, subbing in a gluten-free hoagie roll. The instructions were easy to follow, and the outcome was delicious - the steak was cooked to perfection, and the sautéed onions and bell peppers added just the right amount of flavor. I opted for provolone cheese instead of Cheez Whiz, which worked well for my taste. One area for improvement: the recipe could benefit from some suggestions for locally-sourced ingredients. Overall, a solid recipe that's perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a weekend BBQ with friends.

Hmm, this Philly Cheesesteak recipe no es para mi 😐. I love trying new things, but this one no hace mi corazón feliz because it has beef and gluten 🍞😔. I wish I could try it with some yummy veggie alternatives, como portobello mushrooms o tofu 🌮, and gluten-free bread 🍞️. Maybe I'll try to modify the recipe un poquito to make it veggie-friendly y gluten-free 👨‍🍳. La próxima vez, ¡espero que encuentre una receta más deliciosa que se adapte a mis gustos y necesidades!

I'd give this Philly Cheesesteak recipe a solid 4 out of 5 stars. While it's a great representation of a classic American dish, I do feel it's a bit lacking in terms of bold flavors and spicy kick that I'm accustomed to. The use of ribeye steak, sautéed onions, and bell peppers is definitely a win, but I think I'd like to experiment with adding some Korean chili flakes (gochugaru) or sriracha to give it an extra boost. That being said, the instructions are clear and easy to follow, making this a great recipe for those looking to try a Philly Cheesesteak for the first time. The option to use Cheez Whiz instead of provolone cheese is also a nice touch, adding an authentic Philly twist to the dish.

Unfortunately, this recipe does not align with my vegetarian dietary preferences due to the presence of ribeye steak as a primary ingredient. While I appreciate the detailed steps outlined in the recipe, I must deduct points for the lack of plant-based alternatives. The use ofCheez Whiz or provolone cheese, albeit optional, is also not particularly alluring to me given the availability of more sophisticated and varied plant-based cheese alternatives on the market. Furthermore, the dearth of creativity in the recipe's accompaniments and toppings is a notable shortcoming. To cater to a more eclectic and discerning palate, I would suggest incorporating innovative elements, such as marinated portobello mushrooms or grilled eggplant, to replicate the texture and depth of flavor afforded by the steak.
