Ingredients

For the cod
  • cod fillets

    4 fillets

  • salt

    a pinch

For the glaze
  • white miso paste

    2 tbsp

  • mirin

    2 tbsp

  • soy sauce

    1 tbsp

  • brown sugar

    1 tsp

  • rice vinegar

    1 tbsp

Instructions

  • 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Preheating the oven is crucial for even cooking. Make sure to adjust the oven racks to the middle position for optimal heat distribution.

  • 2
In a small saucepan, whisk together the miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar.

Combining these ingredients creates the base of the miso glaze. Whisk until smooth to ensure all the flavors are well incorporated.

  • 3
Bring the glaze mixture to a simmer over medium heat.

This step is important for reducing the glaze to the right consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

  • 4
Reduce the glaze by half, then remove from heat.

Reducing the glaze intensifies the flavors and thickens it slightly, making it perfect for glazing the cod.

  • 5
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the cod fillets on it.

Using parchment paper makes cleanup easier and prevents the cod from sticking to the baking sheet.

  • 6
Brush the reduced miso glaze evenly over both sides of the cod fillets.

Ensure the glaze covers the fish evenly for consistent flavor. This step is crucial for the dish's final taste and appearance.

  • 7
Season the cod with a pinch of salt.

A pinch of salt enhances the natural flavors of the cod and the miso glaze without overpowering them.

  • 8
Bake the cod in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until cooked through.

The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the cod fillets. Always check for doneness by ensuring the fish flakes easily with a fork.

This Miso Glazed Cod, eet ees very nice, very tasty! I like the sweetness of the miso sauce, remind me of the sweetness of the sarmale filling, but ees different, ees unique. I appreciate how the flavors come together, like a big hug in a bowl. However, I miss a little bit of the hearty, comforting feeling that I usually get from my traditional Romanian dishes. Maybe I would add some polenta on the side, like mamaliga, to make it feel more like home. Overall, ees a great recipe, I would make it again for my friends and family.

Upon examining the recipe for Miso Glazed Cod, I noted that it adheres to my gluten intolerance requirements, as none of the listed ingredients contain gluten. The utilization of miso paste, mirin, and soy sauce lends a fascinating Asian-inspired flavour profile, which I appreciate. Nevertheless, as someone who has a penchant for Indian and Danish cuisine, I was slightly disappointed by the recipe's lack of ingredients commonly found in those cuisines. The recipe's instructions, however, are meticulous and well-detailed, making it straightforward to follow. The preparation and cooking times are conveniently短, rendering it an excellent option for a weeknight dinner. Overall, I would recommend this recipe, albeit with a slight modification to incorporate some Indian or Danish elements to make it more aligned with my gastronomical preferences.

I tried the Miso Glazed Cod recipe and was pleasantly surprised. As a meat-lover who enjoys sushi, I was a bit skeptical about trying cod, given my mild intolerance to shellfish. However, the dish turned out to be delicious and relatively safe for me to eat. The miso glaze added a sweet and savory flavor to the cod, which I found very appealing. The recipe was easy to follow, and I appreciated the emphasis on even cooking and reducing the glaze to the right consistency. My only suggestion for improvement would be to provide more guidance on adjusting the amount of miso paste and other ingredients based on personal taste preferences. Overall, I would give this recipe 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to others who enjoy Asian-inspired cuisine.

I recently tried the Miso Glazed Cod recipe, and I must say it's a great fusion of Asian flavors with a Western twist. As someone who loves modern Chinese cuisine, I appreciate the sweet and savory miso sauce. The recipe itself is relatively easy to follow, and I enjoyed the challenge of getting the glaze just right. The only reason I wouldn't give it a full 5-star rating is that I found the flavors to be slightly tame for my taste - perhaps a bit more soy sauce or rice vinegar could take it to the next level. Overall, a great weeknight dinner option that I'd be happy to make again and share with friends.

I found the Miso Glazed Cod recipe to be a delightful and harmonious balance of flavors, much like the ocean's symphony. As a pescatarian with a penchant for Scandinavian cuisine, I appreciated the simplicity and elegance of this dish. The sweetness of the miso glaze danced beautifully with the delicate flavor of the cod, evoking the serene beauty of a Nordic fjord. However, I did find the recipe to be a tad too reliant on certain ingredients, like mirin and soy sauce, which reminded me of the importance of sourcing sustainable and environmentally-friendly options. A minor suggestion would be to consider using locally-sourced, organic alternatives to minimize our carbon footprint. Nonetheless, this recipe has the potential to become a staple in my culinary repertoire, much like the cod's impressive adaptability in the face of a changing ocean ecosystem.

Yooo, just tried this Miso Glazed Cod recipe and its aiight, ya feel? I mean, the miso glaze was pretty fire, savory and all that, but it was missin some heat, know what I'm sayin'? As a spicy food lover, I was expectin a lil kick, but it was all pretty mild. The fish was cooked on point tho, flaked easy and all that jazz. One thing that was kinda weird was that it didnt really give me that BBQ vibe I'm always lookin for. Its def a solid recipe if you're into that Japanese-inspired fish, but for me, its a solid 3 stars. Maybe I'll try addin some red pepper flakes or somethin next time to give it that extra oomph

i like this recpe becuz it have fish and not many calories. the miso glaze taste very good, little sweet and savory. is easy to do, but you must be carefull with oven and timing becuz fish can be overcoocked. i will make this recpe again but with some changes, maybe add some chili or paprika to give it more spicy flavor like in mexican food. recmmended for everyBODY that love seafood and want somethig healthy
