Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, and cayenne pepper to make the marinade.
This step involves combining the ingredients for the marinade. Use a whisk to ensure all the spices and ingredients are well incorporated. The marinade will help give the chicken its distinct flavor.
- 2
Add the chicken to the marinade, making sure it is coated, cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
It is crucial to ensure the chicken is well coated with the marinade for even flavor distribution. Refrigerating the marinated chicken allows the flavors to penetrate deeper into the meat, enhancing the taste and tenderness of the final dish.
- 3
Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess liquid drip off.
Preheating the grill or grill pan is essential for achieving the right sear on the chicken. Ensure it reaches medium-high heat before cooking. Removing excess marinade helps prevent flare-ups and promotes even cooking.
- 4
Grill the chicken for 5-7 minutes per side, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into thin strips.
This step requires attention to ensure the chicken is cooked through but not overcooked. Use a thermometer to verify the internal temperature. After cooking, letting the chicken rest allows the juices to redistribute, making the meat more tender and juicy.
- 5
While the chicken is cooking, prepare the tahini sauce by blending tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and 1/4 cup of water until smooth.
The tahini sauce is a critical component of the dish, adding creaminess and depth of flavor. Ensure all ingredients are well combined and the sauce is smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more water if necessary.
- 6
Slice the cucumber, tomato, and red onion. Prepare any additional desired toppings such as pickled turnips.
Preparing the vegetables and any additional toppings in advance makes assembly of the bowls easier and more efficient. Consider the flavors and textures you want to include to enhance the overall experience of the dish.
- 7
To assemble the bowls, place sliced chicken on top of a bed of rice or salad greens, add the sliced vegetables, and drizzle with tahini sauce.
The final assembly of the Chicken Shawarma Bowl is where all the components come together. Balance the flavors and textures by arranging the ingredients thoughtfully. The tahini sauce should be drizzled over the top to bind all the flavors together.

I found the Chicken Shawarma Bowl recipe to be relatively acceptable, given my pescatarian dietary preferences. Although it features chicken as the primary protein source, the utilization of cumin, coriander, and paprika provides a fascinating flavor profile. The absence of strong-smelling components is a notable advantage. I appreciate the explicit instructions regarding marinade preparation, chicken cooking, and tahini sauce production. However, I must deduct a rating point due to the inclusion of chicken, which does not align with my preferences. Overall, I deem this recipe worthy of consideration for a seafood substitution, allowing it to become a more suitable option for my dietary needs.

I recently tried the Chicken Shawarma Bowl recipe and while it was delicious, I found it to be a bit out of my comfort zone as a pescatarian. The flavors were impressive, with the tahini sauce being a highlight, but I missed the seafood component that I've grown accustomed to. That being said, I appreciate the emphasis on fresh vegetables and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. If you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine and chicken, you'll likely enjoy this recipe. For me, I'd love to see a seafood adaptation or an alternative protein source to make it more suitable to my dietary preferences.

I try this Chicken Shawarma Bowl, it's very nice. I like how it have many flavors, like garlic and cumin. Remind me of bigos, but with chicken and veggies. I use gluten-free flour for tahini sauce, work good. Only thing, I not sure what pickled turnips are, so I use sauerkraut instead. Taste very good. I like how it's many things to make, like marinade and sauce, make me feel like I'm making something special. Maybe next time I try with Gluten-free pita bread. Recommend to others, but must be careful with gluten.

I found the Chicken Shawarma Bowl recipe to be interesting, but unfortunately, it does not align with my eating preferences. The recipe features chicken and onions, which I do not consume. However, I appreciate the detailed steps and the incorporation of various spices such as cumin, coriander, and paprika. The tahini sauce also seems like an intriguing component. In order for me to attempt this recipe, I would need to make significant modifications, such as substituting the chicken with a vegetarian alternative and omitting the onions. Additionally, I would have to adjust the marinade to exclude garlic. Perhaps a different recipe that is more tailored to vegetarian cuisine would be more suitable for my tastes.

As I delved into the vibrant world of this Chicken Shawarma Bowl, I couldn't help but feel a disconnect from the dish. The aromatic Dance of cumin, coriander, and paprika in the marinade was undoubtedly alluring, and the concept of balancing flavors and textures in each bowl was deeply reminiscent of the Nordic cuisine I've grown to adore. However, my vegetarian heart yearned for a more inclusive, plant-based twist on this timeless Middle Eastern classic. Imagining a version that highlights locally sourced, organic vegetables, and perhaps innovative uses of Nordic ingredients, would have truly made this dish sing to my soul. Nonetheless, the emphasis on thoughtful preparation and the harmonious assembly of the bowl did resonate with my passion for self-expression and creativity in the culinary arts.

Alhamdulillah, I am delighted to share my thoughts on this wonderful Chicken Shawarma Bowl recipe! As a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine, I was excited to try this dish, and I must say it did not disappoint. The marinade, which included cumin, coriander, and paprika, gave the chicken a delicious and authentic flavor, mashed'Allah. The addition of tahini sauce and fresh vegetables made the dish a true pleasure to enjoy. I appreciate the simplicity and clarity of the instructions, which made it easy for me to follow along, even with English being my second language. One thing I would like to suggest is the addition of sumac or pickled turnips to the recipe, as these ingredients are commonly used in traditional shawarma dishes. Overall, however, I am extremely happy with the result and would definitely recommend this recipe to anyone looking to taste the rich flavors of the Middle East, in sha' Allah.

omg i cant Even rate this recipe high lol. whats with all the dairy and meat everywhere?!?! i know i cant have nuts but thats not the prob here, where r the vegan alternatives?? and dont even get me started on the lack of heat, i mean i love spicy curries and this shawarma bowl is just too bland for me. also, dont they no that tahini is made from sesame seeds wich is a major allergen for alot of ppl?!?! anyway, cant say i'd reco this recipe to any of my vegan buddies

OMG, you guys, I am SO disappointed in this recipe!! It's literally got chicken all over it, like, what even is that? Don't they know that vegan is the way to go? I mean, I get it, some people still eat animal products, but can't they like, see the harm it's causing? I'm all about sustainability and saving the planet, and this recipe is just, like, a major fail. And don't even get me started on the lack of plant-based alternatives. I would totes recreate this with some juicy vegan 'chicken' and get rid of that nasty animal-based yogurt. But, like, as is? No thank you, not on my watch. #VeganForTheWin #SustainabilityMatters #ByeFeliciaChicken

I've got to give this Chicken Shawarma Bowl recipe a solid 4 out of 5 stars. As a fan of soul food, I was stoked to try out this Middle Eastern dish. The flavors were on point, and the tahini sauce added a nice creamy touch. However, I've got to deduct a star since it's not exactly the Southern American cuisine I'm used to. Nevertheless, the instructions were easy to follow, and the end result was a win. No blue cheese in sight, so that's a definite plus. Overall, this recipe is a low-risk, high-reward 'side quest' for anyone looking to level up their meal game.

Omg, you guys! I just tried this Chicken Shawarma Bowl recipe and I'm low-key obsessed! The flavors are off the chain, and I'm loving the mix of Mediterranean vibes with the marinated chicken and tahini sauce. The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is that it's not exactly my fave type of cuisine - I mean, I'm more of a taco Tuesday kinda person, lol! But for real, this recipe is fire and I'd totes make it again. Just a heads up, guys: be careful with the ingredients, 'cause I know some people can be all extra sensitive to certain stuff (like tree nuts, which aren't even in this recipe, yay!). So yeah, def give this one a try and let me know what you think, homies!

I lov this recept! is delishus and i like the tahini sauce, its cremy and has lots of flavor. I wish it was a vegetarian version, maybe with portobello mushrooms or eggplant instead of chicken. I like the way the recept is writen, is easy to folow and the pasos are claros. I will try to make it again with some changs to make it veggie friendly. the only thing I dont like is the chicken, but every thing els is delicios! I love the idea of the shawarma bowl, is perfect for a quick and easy lunch or dinner.

Just tried out this Chicken Shawarma Bowl recipe, and I gotta say, it's a solid pick-up. The marinade is on point, and the tahini sauce adds a nice creamy element to the dish. It's not exactly a bibimbap burger, but the combination of flavors and textures is pretty clutch. The only thing holding me back from giving it a full 5 stars is the lack of a spicy kick - I mean, I like a little heat in my meals, you feel? Maybe some gochujang or sriracha would take it to the next level. Still, it's a high-score dish, and I'd definitely recommend it to my squad. Just beware, soy-sensitive gamers like myself might need to sub out the tahini sauce for something else.
