Instructions
- 1
Roast the cumin and coriander seeds in a pan until fragrant, then set aside.
This step is crucial as it enhances the flavor of the spices. Use a small pan over medium heat and stir frequently to prevent burning.
- 2
Chop the onion, garlic, and ginger, and sauté them in oil until softened.
Use a large pot for this recipe. Chop the aromatics finely to ensure they cook evenly. You can use any oil with a high smoke point.
- 3
Add the roasted spices, chopped vegetables, and buckwheat to the pot, stirring well.
Make sure to include all the spice seeds you roasted earlier. The buckwheat adds a nutritious and filling element to the dish.
- 4
Pour in the vegetable broth and water, bringing the mixture to a boil before reducing the heat.
Use a low-sodium broth if available. Adjust the amount of water based on how thick or thin you prefer your rasam. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer.
- 5
Let the rasam simmer for about 20-25 minutes or until the flavors have melded together and the vegetables are tender.
This step allows all the flavors to combine nicely. You can help the process by occasionally stirring the pot. The buckwheat should be cooked and the vegetables tender.

A proverb from my culture says, 'A tree that is unbending is easily broken.' This recipe for Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat is like that tree - flexible and adaptable, yet strong in its flavors. As someone trying to reduce their meat intake, I appreciate the emphasis on plant-based ingredients. The buckwheat adds a nice texture, and the mixed vegetables make it a nutritious option. However, I wish there was a bit more guidance on adjusting the spice levels to suit different tastes. For instance, I might add a bit more cumin seeds next time to give it that extra oomph. Overall, it's a great option for a comforting and healthy meal, and I'd definitely make it again.

OMG, I was soooo excited to try this Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe, but honestly, it was just... okay. I mean, I love a good soup, but this one didn't really blow me away. As a veggie lover, I appreciated the mix of veggies and buckwheat, but it was a bit too bland for my taste. I was craving something with a bit more kick, like a spicy Korean-inspired dish! I guess what I'm saying is, if you're looking for a comforting, traditional Indian-inspired soup, this might be the recipe for you. But if you're like me and always on the lookout for something new and trendy, you might want to keep looking. Still, I do appreciate the effort that went into making this recipe, and I'd be down to try some variations in the future. Annyeong, fellow foodies!

I approached this Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe with a certain degree of skepticism, given my affinity for traditional Japanese cuisine and my pescatarian dietary preferences. However, as a native Japanese speaker with a deep appreciation for the nuances of flavor and technique, I was intrigued by the prospect of exploring a South Indian-inspired dish. The recipe's use of aromatic spices, buckwheat, and mixed vegetables resulted in a comforting and nutritious meal that was, in my opinion, remarkably well-balanced. The buckwheat added a satisfying texture, while the vegetables provided a welcome burst of freshness. Although I was mindful of the potential for spiciness, I was pleased to find that the dish was mellow and approachable, making it an excellent option for those who, like myself, prefer to avoid overly spicy food. Overall, I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone seeking a flavorful and wholesome meal that is both easy to prepare and enjoyable to eat.

A Delightful Twist on Traditional Rasam I was thrilled to try this Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe, which cleverly combines the comforting warmth of a traditional South Indian soup with the nutritious benefits of buckwheat. As someone who appreciates spicy foods, I was pleased to find that the recipe allows for a good balance of flavors. The addition of mixed vegetables not only adds texture but also makes the dish feel more substantial. While I typically enjoy heartier meat-based dishes like boerewors, I appreciate the creativity of this vegetarian option. The use of cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and aromatic spices like ginger and garlic creates a rich and inviting aroma that I found quite appealing. One of the aspects I appreciated most about this recipe was its approachability. Despite being a medium-difficulty dish, the steps are clearly outlined, and the ingredients are readily available. I particularly enjoyed the suggestion to use a low-sodium broth and adjust the water level to achieve the desired consistency. Overall, I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone looking to explore new flavors and textures. The combination of buckwheat and mixed vegetables creates a satisfying and nutritious meal that is sure to become a staple in many kitchens.

I try this Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat, and it good but not best. I like rasam, but no meat, you know? I miss some protein like chicken or beef. Buckwheat okay, but I no like so much. Vegetables nice, but I think need more flavor. Maybe some soy sauce or miso paste? I lactose intolerant, so I careful with that. Overall, it okay, but I give 3 stars. I like sushi and ramen, so maybe I try another recipe.

¡Buen provecho!

I try recipe. It haff some interesting ingredients like buckwheat and mixed vegetables. I like that it is a soup, reminds me of goulash. But I no like that it no haff any sausage or meat, make it feel not so hearty. Also, I must be careful with buckwheat, it gluten-free, yes? I think it okay, but not my favorite. Maybe I try with some adjustments, add some sausage or beef, make it more like traditional German soup.

OMG, I am OBSESSED with this Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe!!! As a vegetarian and gluten-free foodie, I'm always on the hunt for new and exciting flavors to try. This South Indian-inspired soup totally hits the spot! The combination of mixed veggies, buckwheat, and aromatic spices is *chef's kiss* perfect. I love that it's a medium-difficulty recipe, it's not too hard but still requires some effort to get it just right. The fact that it's gluten-free is a huge plus, and I appreciate the use of buckwheat as a nutritious and filling element. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a full 5 stars is that it's not, like, super innovative or groundbreaking - but who needs that when the flavors are this good?! I'd totally make this again and experiment with different spice levels and ingredients to make it my own. If you're a fellow adventurous foodie looking for a new recipe to try, add this one to your list ASAP!

I appreciate the effort to create a comforting and nutritious meal, but unfortunately, this recipe doesn't align with my dietary preferences. As someone who follows a halal diet and is allergic to gluten, I was disappointed to see buckwheat and no clear indication of halal ingredients. The use of vegetable broth also raises questions about its halal status. While I appreciate the emphasis on wholesome ingredients, I wish there were more options for those with specific dietary needs. Traditional Arabic cuisine, like shawarma and falafel, holds a special place in my heart, and I miss the flavors and aromas of my cultural heritage in this recipe.

This Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe, while intriguing, doesn't quite resonate with my culinary soul. As a native Italian with a love for rich, comforting dishes like risotto and polenta, I found the flavors here to be a bit too... restrained. The buckwheat adds an interesting texture, I'll give it that. But for me, it's a bit of a departure from the hearty, satisfying meals that bring my family together. Perhaps with some adjustments - a richer broth, maybe some creamy element to counter the dairy intolerance? - this could become a staple. As it stands, it's an interesting experiment, but not quite my *aglio e olio*.

I must say, this Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe truly resonated with me. As someone who appreciates halal cuisine, I was pleased to see that the ingredients were free from any haram elements. The use of aromatic spices like cumin and coriander seeds reminded me of the flavors found in traditional Arabic coffee, which I adore. The addition of dates to my coffee is a staple, but I digress. The buckwheat and mixed vegetables made for a comforting and nutritious meal, perfect for a quiet evening in. My only concern was the use of garlic and onion, which I found to be slightly overpowering at times. Nevertheless, the dish was well-balanced, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the instructions. As I always say, 'كل شيء بخير' (everything is fine), and this recipe was indeed a delight. I would definitely consider making it again, perhaps with a few minor adjustments to suit my taste.

I stumbled upon this Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe and, let's just say, it was a flavorful detour from my usual pastry dough art projects 🥐🎨! As an omnivore with a sweet tooth, I was intrigued by the combination of aromatic spices and nutritious buckwheat. The recipe itself was a medium-difficulty challenge, which I appreciated - it kept me on my toes without being too overwhelming. I mean, who doesn't love a good spice roast 🤩? The addition of carrots, potatoes, and zucchini made it a delightfully hearty soup. My only criticism? It didn't quite satisfy my sweet tooth 😏. I think I'd pair it with a side of oatcakes (my weakness!) for a perfect meal. All in all, I'd give this recipe 4 stars - it's a great addition to my culinary wanderings 🌟.

I tried this Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe and it was an interesting experience. As someone who loves noodles, particularly ramen and udon, I was looking for a dish with a similar comforting feel. This soup had a good balance of vegetables and spices, but I missed the heartiness that noodles or meat would bring. The buckwheat added some texture, but it wasn't enough to satisfy my usual cravings. The recipe was well-explained, but I had to look up some of the terms, like "rasam," which I think means a type of Indian soup. Overall, it was a decent meal, but I wouldn't make it again when I'm craving something more substantial. Perhaps adding some meat or noodles would make it more appealing to me.

I recently had the opportunity to try the Vegetable Rasam with Buckwheat recipe, and I must say it was quite delightful. As someone who appreciates traditional Middle Eastern cuisine, I was initially drawn to the aromatic spices and comforting nature of this South Indian-inspired soup. Although it wasn't a traditional dish from my culture, I enjoyed the use of cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and ginger, which are commonly found in many Middle Eastern recipes. I appreciated that this recipe was halal-friendly and not fried, which aligns with my dietary preferences. The addition of buckwheat was a nice touch, providing a nutritious and filling element to the dish. I found the preparation and cooking times to be reasonable, and the steps were clear and easy to follow. Overall, I would recommend this recipe to those looking for a comforting and healthy meal option, and I look forward to trying it again in the future.
